State your case.

N64? Goldeneye and Smash Bros, along with Mario Party.

N64 over 360 and PS3? Really?

Can't really seperate Xbox from PS3 though because the lack of exclusive games to each.

Def had more fun playing N64 than any console nowdays but that could just be that I was a kid back then, prol would be disgusting to play now.

Multiplayer wise, I think XBL has it locked up. Since the system exclusives aren't enough to make me wanna buy a PS3 and from what I experienced whenn playing at my nephew's house, I think XBL's overall functionality works better. Just doesn't feel as put together or something.

N64 for local or couch based multiplayer and Xbox 360 for online based multiplayer.

Xbox probably would be the bridge between the two because of the original Halo (local based) and Halo 2 (online based).

You can have the best of both worlds on Halo 3/4. You have your friends sign on as a guest at your place and play big team slayer with others online.

Also the wireless controllers on the 360 make it better for in house playing too with less tripping accident potential.

PC, easily.

I just figured that didn't count, for fairness sake.

Well that and I don't think many people crowd around a PC to play with their friends.

Is this multiplayer as a whole? Or are we separating local multiplayer and online?

I've probably had the most fun in multiplayer with the Smackdown! series on back on PS2.
I would hook up the multi-tap and my brothers and I would play those games for countless hours.

Close 2nd place would go to the Mario Kart/Mario Party/Super Smash Bros on Gamecube.

You should have specified local multiplayer, then. This would also discount most modern systems, because a good chunk of the games now require online or LAN play rather than allowing single-console play.

Hell, the number of local games for the 360 is pretty limited, but you didn't mock that.

...You didn't think this through at all, did you?

This wasn't entirely uncommon, prior to widespread internet.

Haven't you ever heard of a LAN party? Bunch of nerds bring their PCs over, hook them up to a LAN for a weekend of gaming. Shit's been going on since games were made to support multiplayer.

I suppose, but I was hoping to bring back some heartwarming and nostalgic memories not yelling at the cheap fuck spamming rockets into the spawn point.

There was one guy who did that. every. single. fucking. match.

Now look, you have made me upset.

Well, that can only happen in online games, so fangerl has a point.

I enjoy online and couch play on XB360 well and fine. Nostalgia's nice but many N64 experiences can and have been replicated or improved on 360 with the added bonus of being old enough to drink. Shit, Rock Band (full band play) pretty much beats the shit out of a lot of things from generations ago. I'm not gonna fall into that romanticist trap.

No contest on my end, sorry.
