Welcome gentlemen to the 2012 TPWW Wrestling Forum Awards Show! This show would not have been made possible without the votes of so many of my friends and peers. So before I begin to rant and out myself like Jodi Foster, lets get on with it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first category voted upon by the TPWW Universe was for TV Show Of The Year. Unlike many of the other categories this particular one was a complete landslide. Garnering over 75% of the votes....

The TV Show Of The Year Is.......

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FjpOifoTpQM/TnJIR9hh5-I/AAAAAAAAAAk/7iMIW5vRD0U/s1600/384899-raw_logo.jpg

This one really comes as no real surprise. 2012 was a solid year for WWE RAW as it was backed by many special attractions. The move to 3 hours, the RAW 1,000 Spectacular, the many appearances by The Rock, and the list goes on from there. Congratulations to RAW for being named the 2012 TV Show of The Year!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The next category was one of the closer races. What does it mean to be a top commentator? Does simply returning from a life-ending heart attack guarantee a Top Commentator award? Does witty, colorful and most of the time made-up backstories from Matt Striker help him reach the top of the pile? Or are you an old-school Slobberknockin' son-of-a-gun who still thinks that JR is top dawg? It's time to find out! This years Commentator of the Year Award goes to......

COMMENTATOR OF THE YEAR IS......

http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/b/bradshaw/12.jpg

This one is kind of a shock. JBL didn't re-join the WWE broadcast booth until AFTER Jerry Lawler suffered his massive and life altering heart attack. While both Michael Cole and Lawler received a good number of votes it was JBL's short tenure on RAW and now Smackdown that garnered him JUST enough votes to beat out the RAW duo. This win can only be attributed to the fact that JBL is just THAT DAMN GOOD. Congratulations JBL on becoming the top commentator of 2012 by only working a few months!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

What does it take to become recognized by a jury of wrestling snobs as Worst Match of The Year? With this group of knuckleheads, not much. But still it was a pretty close race.

THE WORST MATCH OF 2012 IS.........

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JjSHqi5L414/T5-GToREdCI/AAAAAAAADhs/swSguyDxziA/s1600/!0-20120430_LARGE_raw_v_cenastandstall_L.jpg

Big Johnny vs Medium Johnny from Over The Limit. Other matches nominated in this category were: The Miz vs Brodus Clay, Ryback vs Lord Tensai and who could forget the Ambulance Match between Cena and Kane...That's right, pretty much everyone. Other un-favorites included ANY Divas match and ANY Great Khali match. Congratulations to both John's...You are both BIG in my book.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2012 was a rollercoaster ride in regards to the Tag Team division. One month it was a featured player and the next it was Main Eventing a webcast only show. Through the good and the bad, a few select teams reached the top rung of greatness. While this was a run away victory, let it be known that everyone nominated in this category deserves an award for trying to revitalize a dying art in professional wrestling. Here we go.....

The 2012 Tag Team Of The Year Is.....

http://www.ringsidenews.com/file/pic/photo/c91f35dda04d416af55c5644333057fe_500.jpg

After Daniel Bryan lost his World Heavyweight Championship to The Great White at Wrestlemania in a mere 12 seconds, most of the wrestling community was floored. Who knew the shit-storm that would begin AFTER his loss that would send him to Demi-God status and co-tag team champion as well as create one of the most simple yet effective tag-lines of all time. A special recognition award goes along with this honor to the man that brought these 2 unlikely men together. A special award of merit goes out to our beloved Dr. Shelby. May you fly as high as the eagles nest and may we see you destroy Dr. Phil at Wrestlemania 29. The other tag teams nominated for this award were Team Rhodes Scholars, the Prime Time Playas and of course The 3MB (baby). Congratulations Team Hell No on resurging the tag team ranks for what appears to be a stellar year of tag wrestling in 2013!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is now time to give away the annual Worst Wrestler Of The Year Award. I would like to say that this was a small category with very few nominations, but sadly I cannot say that with a straight face. While some of the nominees simply do NOT belong here, equal weight was given to everyone listed. The winner is......

The Worst Wrestler of 2012 is.........

http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/superstar_large/public/talent/profile/2012/02/thegreatkhali_3_full.png

Without a doubt, The Great Khali deserves this award. There is no "but what if" or "if only he could have..." it is simply a case of hitting the nail on the head. He kisses ladies, dances for the kids and destroys the souls of all men who have to sit through his matches. Other nominees include: Brodus Clay, The Miz, Ryback, Sin Cara, Tensai, and Santino (to just name a few). I would say "better luck in the future Khali" but unfortunately with Khali's body I could imagine the future simply getting worse and worse for the Punjabi Poonani.

-----------------------------------------------------

Out with the old and in with the new! The next category is The Rise Of The Year. Not necessarily an award given to a rookie but an award given to the highest rising star of 2012. Many great names were discussed in the voting but there could only be one winner, and after tallying the votes it came clear pretty easily....

The 2012 Rising Star Of The Year Is.......

http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/superstar_large/public/talent/profile/2012/04/ryback_1_full.png

2012 truly was the year of THE RYBACK! Other nominees included Damien Sandow, Daniel Bryan, AJ Lee, Dolph Ziggler (who was a close second), CM Punk, Bully Ray & The Shield. Congratulations to The Ryback for securing a spot in the category of Rising Star. Will 2013 also be the year of THE RYBACK?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So many amazing and shocking moments occurred in 2012. Jerry Lawler dying on air, The Shield winning at TLC, DX reuniting, Brock Lesnar returning, and who could forget Chris Jericho's sparkly jackets!? So many wonderful and shocking things happened in 2012 but 1 stood out above the rest...

The 2012 Moment Of The Year Is......

http://i.imgur.com/eivUx.gif

The return of Brock Lesnar! While other moments listed above created a stir, nothing brought the roof off TPWW this year like the return of Bork Laser! Congratulations babyface and we'll see you at Wrestlemania!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

In professional wrestling it is hard enough creating one solid match to draw in the numbers, but it is even harder to execute a full card of creative and fun match ups to get people to open their wallets and their hearts. 2012 had some amazing PPV matches and a select few of full shows worthy of nomination in the category of Best Card Of 2012. The winner is.....

The Best Card Of 2012 Is......

https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSBtKFHnMM99ToPMsb0u3WjfFptPsQpQklD-i9VH8fubXldbe07Lg

This was easily one of the most neck to neck races. Other shows that received nomination include: The RAW 1,000 Episode Spectacular, Tables Ladders & Chairs, Bound For Glory, Night Of Champions and The Royal Rumble. The show that gave Wrestlemania the biggest run for it's money and garnered many of the votes was Extreme Rules. Congratulations to the WWE for having the most voted cards of 2012!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Websters defines the term "character" as the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of a person. In the WWE, character is not so easily definable. Some characters are true to life personalities and some of larger than life. The category of Character Of The Year follows no definition and as such there were several nominees...

The 2012 Character Of The Year Is.....

http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/superstar_large/public/talent/profile/2012/04/damiensandow_1_full.png

2012 was the year that the wrestling fan FINALLY got some of the education it needed. That's right, it was the year of the intellectual savoir, Damien Sandow! Other nominees in this category included: Brodus Clay, Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Team Hell No, CM Punk, Heath Slater and Paul Heyman. Shockingly the character garnering the second highest vote count was actually a Diva! AJ Lee scored very high after making 2012 her sex slave. Congratulations to Damien and AJ on a very successful year and may 2013 bring you less herpes and more dictionaries.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many wrestlers and topics were discussed here at TPWW over the course of 2012 but this award goes to the man that loved, cheered, booed and name dropped the most in 2012....

The 2012 Most Talked About Person On TPWW Is....

http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/b/bobbyjaggers/01.jpg

The man. The myth. The legend. Bobby Jaggers was easily the person who trended the most on TPWW in 2012. This award would not have happened or been made possible without Shisen Kopf and his love of real rasslin'.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many feuds happened in 2012. Some were very understated and others reached mainstream levels of attention. There were a truckload of nominations in the category of Feud Of The Year and some liberties had to be taken while tallying the votes....

The 2012 Feud Of The Year Is.....

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/002/390/103/nowayoutpunk_display_image.jpg?1341617439

Many of the votes was for Bryan vs Punk. Some of the votes were for Kane vs Bryan. AJ happened to center herself right in the middle of these feuds so this award goes equally to all 4 of these superstars. Other nominees included: Big Johnny vs People Power, Punk vs Jerry Lawler, Chris Jericho vs CM Punk, Sheamus vs Big Show and of course the 2nd highest voted for feud, Cena vs The Rock. Congratulations to everyone and may your feuds be filled with fury and fortitude in 2013.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our next category was a complete landslide. The Top performer in all of wrestling was hard to swallow for some but the numbers, awards, and matches themselves don't lie. Here is your 2012 Wrestler Of The Year....

The 2012 Wrester Of The Year Is......

https://si0.twimg.com/profile_images/1527843296/CM_Punk-2011Cutout_by_Jibunjishin36_display_image_1_.png

Ric Flair said it best when he said, "To be the man you have to BEAT the man". In 2012, NOBODY, not even the unstoppable Ryback could take the title off of CM Punk. He is either loved or hated but regardless of who you are, you are talking about him. And that is why he is YOUR Wrestler Of The Year for 2012. Congratulations Mr. Punk and may all your reigns be lengthy and drug free.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is it guys, the last category. What does it take to be considered the match of the year? Is it the outcome, the aftermath, the big mark out moment or simply a culmination of an intense rivalry? While many matches of 2012 were memorable and could easily be considered top match of the year, this one in particular had the masses clicking in droves. Genlemen, your Match Of The Year.....

The 2012 Match Of The Year Is....

http://www.unchained-wwe.com/gallery/wwe-ppv-2012/wwewrestlemania28wallpapers_triplehvstheundertakerhiac_thumb.jpg

Truly the end of an era? We will all have to wait and see. But at Wrestlemania 28 we all witnessed what most will consider a match of a lifetime. This match is the watermark for what the superstars of today will strive to achieve if they get a chance to step into the spotlight at a Wrestlemania. Other nominees included Cena vs Punk from Summerslam, Ziggler vs Cena from TLC, Punk vs Bryan at Money In The Bank and Over The Limit, Cena vs Lesnar from Extreme Rules, Shield vs Ryback and Hell No at TLC and Punk vs Jericho at Extreme Rules. All of these matches were top caliber, top shelf, top of the game matches but HHH vs Undertakers "End Of An Era" Hell In A Cell match at Wrestlemania takes the prive as match of the year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congratulations to ALL of the winners and runners up. Thank you to all the wrestling superstars for giving us a reason to congregate daily on this fabulous message board and thank you to everyone who voted, whined, bitched, complained, repped, negged, trolled and posted pictures of hot babes every day for all to see.

We will see you all again next year with hopefully another wonderful batch of moments to relive together again.. Until then goodnight and drive safe America!

I agree Joe. I miss MITB matches at Mania and wasn't "super pumped" for Rock vs Cena like others were. It was just ok for me. Extreme Rules and RAW 1,000 were more fun, IMO.

Dude, you are dead. Get over it. There is no way you had the best feud or the best wrestler of 2012 since you didn't even wrestle this year.

How the HELL did Khali beat Cena for Worst Wrestler?! He only worked late last year, Cena worked all last year, even tried for the title against Punk and failed, even when he tried to cash in his briefcase, after giving Punk A FULL FUCKING WEEK'S NOTICE!

Anyway, that's the only award I vehemently disagree with, although it's not directed at you, Schlomey...just my personal (very angry) opinion.

Pretty good stuff and most of your opinions match up to what's real (which is very rare)
