In your opinion, which Wrestlemania had the best card, best moments or greatest matches. Every Wrestlemania is a superior show, but which one stands above the rest?

17 was great but there were quite a few throwaway matches that are often forgotten. 28 last year replaces it as the best WM for me.

Wrestlemania 3 and 17 are both solid picks.

Just curious, Which matches are you talking about? Other then maybe the 6 man with Tazz and APA the rest were all pretty great in their own ways.
1 Chris Jericho (c) defeated William Regal[3][30] Singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship 07:08
2 Tazz and The APA (Bradshaw and Faarooq) (with Jacqueline) defeated Right to Censor (The Godfather, Val Venis and Bull Buchanan) (with Steven Richards)[3][26][31] Six-man tag team match 03:52
3 Kane defeated Raven (c) and The Big Show[3][31] Triple Threat Hardcore match for the WWF Hardcore Championship 09:17
4 Eddie Guerrero (with Perry Saturn) defeated Test (c)[3][30] Singles match for the WWF European Championship 08:30
5 Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit[3][29] Singles match 14:04
6 Chyna defeated Ivory (c) Singles match For The WWF Women's Championship 02:39
7 Shane McMahon defeated Vince McMahon Street Fight with Mick Foley as the special guest referee 14:12
8 Edge and Christian defeated The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von) (c) and The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff)[2][26] Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWF Tag Team Championship 15:47
9 The Iron Sheik won by last eliminating Hillbilly Jim1 19-man Gimmick Battle Royal 03:07
10 The Undertaker defeated Triple H[31] Singles match 18:57
11 Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock (c) No Disqualification match for the WWF Championship 28:07

I watched it back again a couple of years ago and just thought that Eddie vs Test, the 6 man tag, and the gimmick battle royal were a bit pointless and unnecessary for a Wrestlemania. That's not to say that they weren't entertaining, but I prefer the modern day Manias where almost every match is a major star studded affair. The street fight, TLC 2, Triple H vs Taker and Rock vs Austin more than made up for everything else on that card though. I guess if we're talking well rounded and structured cards then 17 wins every time. But personally at Wrestlemania I like to see as many big matches as possible. The eras are very different though so it's tough to compare. We have a World title match to kick off the show now which says it all really.
but Eddie vs. Test has Eddie falling out of the ring for no apparent reason whatsoever. And the battle royal had Brain on commentary which is automatic greatness

Makes sense. Last year was kinda the same thing in my eyes sitting through Kane/Orton and Show/Cody to get to Taker/HHH, Punk/Jericho, and Rock/Cena. I appreciate the response.

not that is a knock on x7 but my opinion was the main matches that stood out from that card were matches that had already been done or would be done again when we can look back in hindsight.
austin /rock had better buildup for their match at 15 and their match at 19 was better. the one at x7 seemed put together at the 11th hour with Rock not even having the belt til no way out that year.
taker/HHH got done again twice as well in later years
tlc as well had been done.
and vince in a streetfight would be done a couple more times.
it doesnt make that mania in any means bad just from a standpoint of when its marquee matches would be topped i thought it made another mania jump over it.
my personal vote was for wm3. and although we did get hogan andre again the next year we never got another savage /steamboat, and also little tokyo never got that rematch against king kong bundy. i kid there but, the spectacle of 3, aretha, the little mini ring carts, billy jack busted wide open, adonis and piper gave the first big wm match feel, the size of the crowd. savage, the brain in that white suit and most of all gorilla and the body. hard to top
outside of Savage/Steamboat and Hogan/Andre, WMIII was pretty shit. Most of those early Mania's were, 27 4 minute match cards with a couple of "attraction" matches. And you can't exactly hold the "been done or would be done" thing against them, was a completely different era. 2001 was 12 PPV's a year, 4 hours of new TV per week. In 1987, WrestleMania was the only PPV until the first Survivor Series 8 months later, there was nowhere near the amount of TV being output, the top guys hardly ever wrestled on TV etc. If WrestleMania III happened today, Savage/Steamboat would have wrestled the following month on PPV or even the night after on RAW.

<font color=goldenrod>WM 17 was incredible.
Also the Gimmick Battle Royal was awesome. The entrances lasted longer than the match itself, which is fine since it was just an excuse for nostalgia.
I really would love another Gimmick Battle Royal with more recent gimmicks...but it can't happen now. Just too many people on the roster to award a Mania payday to a bunch of obscure guys from the last decade. As it is they have to cram a clusterfuck tag match on the card to fit people in.</font>
They did a Battle Royal at the 15th Anniversary Raw that was also pretty good.

19 is my personal favorite. Jericho/Michaels and Angle/Lesnar could have been the entire show and I would have still voted as such.

Easy and correct answer is 17, but I hold a special place for 14. Loved that show and it was the dawning of a special few years in wrestling with Austin as champ.

Wrestlemania 2000, two matches stand out to me.
The Triangle Ladder match for the Tag Team Championships: E & C/The Dudley Boyz/The Hardy Boyz
Triple Threat match for the WWF IC and Euro Championships, two-fall: Chris Benoit/ Kurt Angle/ Chris Jericho

It's unfair to list the choices with only the main event and ask people what their favorite was.
However, the best Mania in my opinion has to be 19.
Yes, I'm a little biased, it being a hometown event, and it being my first attended WWE event ever. But in terms of wrestling, being a fan, and spectacle, it had to have been the best.
Obviously Rock/Austin 3 (Austin's last match) takes it.

I'd have to think a bit more, but I'll say this, the greatest Wrestlemania has probably already happened. I don't look for it to get any better than it has been before.
The current talent just isn't as big as Wrestlemania itself. Is this just a product of the way wrestling has evolved into what it is today? Am I just a little jaded because I feel like previous talents (dating back to the 80s, can't say much before then) that made Wrestlemania what it is are mostly gone and replaced with guys that have Wrestlemania make them who they are? There are a lot of variables to identify before you can fairly compare wrestlers to their predecessors. However, they remain somewhat inconsequential in my assessment.
Even if it were formulaically demonstrated to be more difficult to become a successful wrestler today in comparison to one in the past, you cannot unmake history. Kofi Kingston has talked about wanting his "Wrestlemania Moment," well, you have Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre the Giant waiting for you. Good luck, because you're going to have to be that good.
These guys need to go above and beyond. They need to become big time, mainstream guys. Household names. If they don't, I'll just continue fast-forwarding through their matches or going to take a piss, and I'll go ahead and pick one Wrestlemania that I think will never be topped.

Ironically, WrestleMania 23 is probably my favorite WrestleMania and it doesn't have Triple H on the card.
If they took out Kane vs Khali and Cena and Michaels had the match that they had on Raw a couple of weeks later instead of the snorefest that they put on then I would probably consider it one of the best as well.

Well, I couldn't really put the whole card.
I voted for XII due to the Ironman Match and the Piper-Goldust street fight w/ OJ Simpson-style white Ford Bronco chase scene.
