UFC on FOX 7

On Thursday morning, the world’s most prestigious mixed martial arts promotion added four fights to the “UFC on FOX: Henderson vs. Melendez” roster.

“The Ultimate Fighter 13″ finalist Ramsey Nijem (Pictured) meets undefeated Myles Jury, “TUF Smashes” lightweight winner Norman Parke battles Jon Tuck, former Strikeforce 155-puond top contender Jorge Masvidal faces Tim Means and Roger Bowling fights Anthony Njokuani.

All four bouts will likely appear in the show’s prelims.

HP Pavilion in San Jose, California hosts the April 20th festivities. FOX broadcast the featured bouts live starting at 8PM ET/5PM PT.

A lightweight title tilt between UFC king Benson Henderson and former Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez headlines the gig.

Thats cool. I have the same thing with Sean Sherk and guys from Greg Nelson's team in Minnesota. Mostly because I trained there for a while and all those guys were really cool. That's why I have respect for all fighters and people who train. Even though a lot of people hate the Diaz brothers for their "attitude" I know somewhat what those guys have to go through to be a fighter and once you know that you can't help but have respect for them.

I could see those three big fights go either way. The way Cormier has been anointed as the "next big thing" (hell yeah I just went there) makes me think Mir will end up KOing him, although I hope not b/c Cormier presents a marquee matchup for the champ at HW or LHW.

Henderson isn't a finisher and I think Gilbert is a more disciplined fighter than Nate to the point where he can make the fight close like Frankie did on the scorecards. Maybe even land enough takedowns to steal some rounds.

I see Bendo getting X-pac heat from this point forward due to winning so many close decisions that people think he should have lost. I didn't see an obvious win for Bendo. I thought Gilbert took rounds 1, 2 and 5.
