Ok well some of you guys may not of heard about him, he's fairly new.

Saw him on some show the other night and I was so impressed I bought his album, O, today and it was worth every penny.

Its an accoustic deal, and is great to relax too :y:

Highly recommend it.

I love the album, really want to see him live. Lisa Hannigan's voice is amazing.

My favourite song so far has to be The Blower's Daughter, amazing song.

He's not new at all, that album has been out for 3 or 4 years now.

He's been whoring himself in England with it for a year or so.

The album is tedious and cringeworthy at times too. For a better Irish troubadour, look at Damien Dempsey. He has a new album out this week.

You'd get annoyed too if you'd spent the last 3 years or so hearing good this dickhead is supposed to be, when he's living off one album.

Back in the day, people from Dublin would go on and on about him, and about he great he was, and I'd listen and it would be pretty boring. Mainly it was girls who would really love his music. They are probably responsible for making him successful.

The albums great, hes good live aswell. Seen him a couple times.

Ignore ECG, if he likes Damien Dempsey his taste in music cant be that good ;)

Problem for Rice is that the album got popular here, then after a while he began to make a name for himself in England then a while after that he started to make a name in America. Which means that hes been touring 'O' for the last 3 years. But hes got new songs for the next album which should be out who knows when.

If youre going to see him a small venue is best it suits him better, saw him on the main stage at one of the festival's over here and it wasnt as good.

http://www.damienrice.com/music.html theres a link to his site where you can get some of his music for free. Click on the album covers to get some samples of his songs and live streams to get some of his live stuff.

Definitely worth a look :)

Comet Kid, I can forgive you if you like Damien Rice, alot of my friends do, including my better half.

However, you are wrong to criticise Damien Dempsey. He is one of the best Irish artists around right now.
