View Full Version : Paul Bearer passes away

One of the most iconic figures of the wrestling business in the '90s. He was one of my favourite non wrestling personalities of all time. May he rest in peace.

RIP

One of my favorite managers ever.

It was him turning on Undertaker at Summerslam that was the event that got me "back" into wrestling. I had kind of fallen out of it and was only half paying attention.... but then I remember being "shocked" at Paul Bearer's turn, and wanted to see what was going to happen next. I've been watching wrestling without missing a step since.

I guarantee you that the WWE won't do that because The Undertaker would shit a brick and beat Vince over the head with it.

It might be too soon emotionally for a lot of the wrestlers (and William's loved ones) for it to happen this year, but it is definitely something that will happen in the future.

So weird, in all the years, this past week I youtubed the Judgement Day Taker/Kane match where Bearer turned on Kane, and I had nostalgia for the Bearer/Kane promo days...so watched a few of those amazing promos he did back then. Now he's dead.

One of the most gifted people to ever be involved in wrestling. Literally, everytime I see a manager, I always compare them to Bearer, who has always been the gold standard in my book. RIP Bearer, and thank you for entertaining me when I was a kid and providing all wrestling fans with some of the best moments in sports entertainment.

Did not know this until today. Watch the Corentte/Bearer shoot, but I guess Paul Bearer and Sunny had massive heat with each other to the point Vince appointed Cornette to keep the peace between them. Pretty funny story that Paul tells.

And then what about saying hi to Stu, or to Benoit, or Eddy.

I think you're slightly over-reading the tweet. It's an instantaneous response to some news, and probably the first thing he thought about when he heard the news was Owen.

I don't think he was related to Pillman.

Although now that I think about it more it'd be pretty heel for Undertaker to come out on Raw with Paul Bearer's urn only to have CM Punk steal it. And then when Taker beats Punk at WrestleMania he can take back the urn and pour Paul's ashes down Punk's throat.

Theo Dious
03-07-2013, 09:46 PM
I'd say after Taker beats Punk (and he will, don't kid yourselves,) the Urn should be delivered to the ring by a Druid, and Taker should do the hand thing over it. Then he should leave it in the ring and Kane should come out and do the turnbuckle pyro thing from ringside.

Although now that I think about it more it'd be pretty heel for Undertaker to come out on Raw with Paul Bearer's urn only to have CM Punk steal it. And then when Taker beats Punk at WrestleMania he can take back the urn and pour Paul's ashes down Punk's throat.
Then Paul Bearer possess CM Punk?

I didn't even think about that but now that you mention it it'd be great. Punk would think he's Kane's dad. Hilarity ensues!

I go “no mom, I'm not on drugs. I'm ok, I'm just thinking, you know? Why don't you get me a Pepsi?” She goes “No! You're on drugs!” I go “mom, I'm ok. I'm just thinking.” She goes “No! You're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't be acting that way!” I go “mom, just get me a Pepsi! Please, all I want is a Pepsi!” And she wouldn't give it to me! All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me! Just a Pepsi!

I'm was very saddened to hear this news. Paul Bearer was one of my all-time favorite characters, and although he didn't appear often any more, it hurts to know he'll not show up again.

I used to love when Piper and Savage did commentary and they'd get involved breaking up sneak attacks. Not like Lawler who just sits there and spouts about how awful everything is.

Also used to love it when Vince yelled "FROM BEHIND!"

It's performance art. Adamle is a great poster!

It's grown cliched and tired, he lacks the necessary vocabulary and modicum of intellect to actually make it even slightly funny, as far of performance art goes it's on par with a mime.

If you're going to endorse a poster at least make it one who knows more than the simplest of slurs, it's what Vicky Venom would of wanted.

Is it on par with that weird Tilda Swinton fella locking himself in a box and napping?

Dunno, he's got as much personality as a stuffed squirrel so maybe.

Think you should just step up the selection process, have some kind of Mong Idol, and pick the best and brightest, you don't need to settle for the first window licker who shows up.
