El Generico worked Thursday night’s WWE NXT live event under his real name as Rami Sebal. We have a photo in his ring gear below:

I'm normally one of the people that supports the indy's but from that picture that man with that gimmick will never amount to more than Yoshi Tatsu's status in the WWE right now.
Give him the mask and gimmick and he can be a star for kids on Saturday Morning Slam.

Checking out some wrestling forums and I keep coming across a lot of bitching about him not having his mask.
Personally, I don't think it's all that bad. Well, not as bad as some people are making it out to be. I don't think he's going to get far in the WWE if he keeps wearing a mask.
Though before I saw those pictures, I had never seen him without his mask. Now that I have, I can say now that he does look very generic. He looks like a student in his 20's thought it would be "a laugh" to be a wrestler for a day. But I don't mean that in a bad way and I'm happy he's lost the mask. It means more can be done with him now. For example, he could grow his hair a bit more and shave the beard, change his attire and you'll have something completely different that isn't as generic as those photographs.
Though with his pale skin and ginger beard, a tiny part of me thinks that he'll be introduced as Sheamus' cousin and will just be used a comedy character.

He's certainly got an "average guy" look that could make him a sympathetic babyface or annoying heel. I think wearing a mask would have initial benefits for Generico, but I guess the WWE has plans to use him otherwise.

I can honestly see Generico not coming into WWE until Mysterio comes back. He shows up, sans mask, and is really enthusiastic about meeting Rey. Saying he's always wanted to meet him and it was his dream to be like him...
Rey is like "A WWE Superstar?"
Remi is like "No, a Luchadore!"
Rey and Sin Cara face 3MB or someone and the numbers start bearing down on them when, suddenly, Ginairyco (or however WWE decides to spell it for trademark purposes) comes down the aisle and evens the odds.
Basically, have it where Remi admits to being Ginairyco, but has psychological some thing where if he doesn't have the mask on, he isn't able to wrestle to his full abilities. And Mysterio and Sin Cara don't like him wearing the mask at first, but eventually accept him.
That was an incredibly half-assed Noid post...

He should challenge Rey/Cara to a Mask vs. Mask Match only for them to point out he doesn't wear a mask, to which he replies that he could.

Pretty horrible name unless they use ti to play off some sort of "Festus"-like character where he's sane most of the time and then becomes insane when something is triggered.
With Festus it was as simple as having a bell be rung.

I wonder what his gimmick is going to be as Sammy Sane. It's not a name you'd give a guy if there wasn't going to be something going on there. Maybe he likes being beaten up or something? A jobber that enjoys being a jobber.
I still think the mask is the best way to go.

Might just be trying to get him over without the mask to see if he can get over on his own. Like it or not, the mask does limit him in the WWE. Rey and Kane are really the only hugely successful masked wrestlers in WWE history.

Apparently the fans were chanting "Ole!" during his match. They should probably debut Generico alongside Sane and do whatever they can to get Sane over, but also keep Generico as an on-air character. The commentators could even speculate that they are the same guy and that Sane is actually insane. I mean wasn't the whole fun with Generico that he was a Canadian pretending to be a luchador?

I would dress him up in all red and white, give him a maple leaf mask and call him Captain Canada. He would be the greatest Canadian superhero of all time. The best part about it is that after he loses to just a regular USA #1 rassler and gets hurt he can be like "we have free health care eh?"
