According to the official Facebook page for the title, the head of the Saints has been elected President of the United States, leading the charge against an alien force in a struggle to save humanity. Players will "wield gargantuan superpowers" and have an "arsenal of alien weaponry and technology" at their disposal, as well as superpower abilities to leap buildings, outrun enemies and use telekinesis.

The page also refers to the developer as "Deep Silver Volition."

Deep Silver and Volition will be discussing Saints Row 4 in a presentation next week at PAX East in Boston, Mass..

In the next open-world installment of Saints Row, Deep Silver Volition continues the story of the Third Street Saints by elevating their status to the highest level – the leaders of the free world. In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. But the Saints are just getting started. Kinda torn on this, I know I'll buy it, just not sure if I'll preorder it and get the season pass if that's available, because as much as I'll bitch I'll end up getting the content dlc, or wait and get the complete edition down the line. As much as I bitched about 3s dlc I think the problem there was that I'd levelled up as I'd completed the game so there wasn't much of a challenge at that point, for all its flaws I did enjoy it, just think it was akin to Fable 3 where you knew it could've been better.

I'm still looking forward to GTA V more. This looks like the Saints Row equivilent to Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. Yeah, it has a handful of new things in it but it seems a little too close to SR3 but with super powers. Understandable as it started as SR3 DLC. Now that it's a stand alone game, I'd have prefered an entirely new setting.
Unless it's sold at a low price and not the usual £40 - £50 new games go for.

When I finished Saints Row: The Third in 2011, I left the experience feeling somewhat sad. It was a good game, but it felt shallow, held back, and ultimately a little disappointing.

When I finished Saints Row IV in 2013, I left the experience feeling incredibly sad. This time, however, it was for very different reasons. I was genuinely depressed to see the credits roll, because Saints Row IV, in contrast to its predecessor, had given me so much to fall in love with, reaching its conclusion could only ever end in disappointment.

It is with a bittersweet heart, then, that I declare Saints Row IV perhaps one of the best open world sandbox games you could ever hope to play, and practically a culmination of everything the genre's worked toward this generation.

Is that an exaggerated, hyperbolic, perhaps even pompous statement? Maybe so ... but does a series like Saints Row deserve anything less?

I was laughing out loud with actual noises emanating from my mouth within the first ten minutes of Saints Row IV, and the laughter rarely eased up for the rest of the adventure. Comedy in videogames is a tough nut to crack, but the loving parody, hyper-violent slapstick, and sheer audacity of Volition's latest makes it look effortless. Not only that, it tells an engrossing and surprisingly coherent story on top of all the silliness.

It's sounding amazing to me. From the screens, videos and info I've heard/seen, it's reaching a point that I didn't think they could or would do the stuff they seem to be doing.
Not to mention multiplayer is called GTA Online and is supposedly going to be huge and looks like it might actually be a GTA MMO.

Ended up getting it after seeing it in town, I honestly don't know why I didn't get into this sooner. I'm not that far into it but already have laughed so much, I don't know any other game that's done that. I could easily just play an entire game based on the vintage world , absolutely loved that. Not had any real issues on the xbox at all, couple glitches but i'm about 30 hours in and they're non issues that were easily fixed.

Haven't really touched the activities other than when I needed to in a mission, will probably do them after I've completed the main story.

You have to do them all for the side quests, you only need a bronze to pass though.

Just went on a collectable collecting spree and got all statues, text adventure, data clusters and available audio logs. All I need is the remaining ones once there unlocked, as I'm only about halfway through the story.

So depressed that I finished this game. I've stopped at like 98+% completion. Basically just the kill x amount enemies with y weapon challenges are all that I have left.

Game was just epic. It was like all the best features of other popular sandbox games mashed into one....successfully. I can't stress that last part there enough. Usually games that try this fail, and oftentimes miserably, but this game got it right. Here's hoping they keep this up in the inevitable DLC/sequel.

Come on though, one of the skins makes the gun fire off some metal tunes now. It's already the greatest weapon of all time ever as it is and they went and made it betterzzzzzz.

I've barely used it to be honest, only alien gun I really use is the black hole gun.

Alien guns are awesome, they are all I use. The disintegrater is probably my favourite, Dubstep is close second.

I think it's the charge time that puts me off them, I've upgraded the 'standard' weapons fully so they do the job.

Also, once I got to around 700 or so of the 1, 255 clusters I find they become much more difficult to find. Did manage to get a few Stomp and TK ones but I'm probably around 500 short of the achievement/challenge that getting them all unlocks.

I'm not 100% sure, but maybe if you go under "Challenges" in the quest menu you could find it there. Otherwise, it just shows an update on the lower right of your screen for every 100 you've picked up.

Go to your map, each section tells you how many collectables are in each part of the map, it includes audio files/statues etc but at least you'll know when you've cleared a section, if you've done Matt Millers loyalty mission you'll have the collectable finder as well that should help you track them down.

I don't know if this is a glitch or something, during the side quest of terminating some rogue program, when I went to the location on my map, it had floating toilet seats shooting at me.. What gives? Is this part of the glitch or just the game's hilarity of it?
