Lesnars UFC contract said he could go back to the WWE.. He also had health reasons why he couldnt fight anymore.. Lesnar also didnt just sign the biggest, most lucrative contract of any UFC fighter ever directly before his final loss at 141.. Also, he only had 1 fight left, not 9..

Simple fact is, Silva hasnt legitimately lost since Dec of 2004.. He has been fighting the top middleweights in the world, and dominating them for the better part of a decade.. He has toyed with his opponents numerous times during that time.. Against Okami (ufc), Maia, Cote, and even against LHWs like Irvine, Bonnar, etc.. This time he got caught.. Fucksake even in the 2004 loss, he was toying with Chonnan before getting caught in a flying knee bar, that people have said was a fix forever..

Same thing happened to GSP vs Serra..

ESPNs MMA coverage all but died when the UFC tv deal went away because of the FOX deal.. Thats when UFC hired Anik from ESPN and took their fighters off MMA Live.. MMA Live then got moved to like 1am on friday mornings..

I have been waiting for someone to catch him while doing that bullshit for awhile. Just like Condit figured out Diaz's bullshit, Weidman made Silva regret the taunting. And everyone is saying if there's a rematch it'll be different, but there's one major problem with that logic. Look at Silva's past fights, he is a defensive fighter. All his taunting (while obnoxious) is used to make guys come at him, because that's his game. He hasn't taken the fight to guys in awhile.

I don't think Silva wanted to get knocked out or even threw the fight. I believe he was just a victim of his own hubris. Just my own speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson would actually prefer random showcase fights over defending the MW title though.

Doesn't Fox have the Super Bowl this year? A Weidman/Silva remtatch plus Frankie Edgar as co-main in Jersey would be bananas.
