...and how do you feel about their role (or lack of it) at Wrestlemania?

Starting to think about the big show and the card is nearly set, I feel, and we can finally see where the year has brought our own personal favourites.

Mania is always a great show for me because everything feels so major, so it's great when a personal favourite is involved in a high profile match or feud, but it can also be disappointing to see someone you are really into not even on the card. Would be interested to see peoples' own viewpoints on their favourites and how happy they are with their WrestleMania positions...

For me...

1. Dolph Ziggler - He has been my favourite guy for a while now, reminds me of a young IC level HBK, and was really hoping to see him in a high profile singles match with a big star. Wanted him to shine at this WM. As it is, his storyline is weak and he has gone into the big event in a tag match after taking a few losses. Disappointed that he isn't higher on the card in a well thought out feud that could have fleshed out his character a bit. Still hoping we could get a cash in, as I am not fussed on ADR/Swagger.

2. Chris Jericho - I was very vocal when he came back the last time with the videos that went nowhere and felt he was coming back to accomplish very little, but credit where credit is due, he has REALLY entertained me on this run and hasn't had a bad match since he came back. Have really enjoyed it and he has turned my opinion around completely. Part of that has been because he has been working with lower guys like Miz and Barrett and I feel like their profile has benefitted from it. No matter what happens at Mania, he is going to have a good match, and win or lose, Fandango will look good. He is Mr. Reliable at the moment.

3. Brock Lesnar - Not a lot to say, he just makes things seem so big time. Have never seen someone made to look like such a threat as this guy does. Everytime his music hits, he grabs your attention. He is a great athlete and I really loved him since day one. Think it is great to have him involved because he just brings a big time feel. The only thing to add is that I would have preferred another opponent, but there is no doubt that it will be a good match and there has been significant build to a match between the two, which is something that is lacking from other matches on the card.

4. Fandango - Strange character, something different, and I already love that. He looks massively talented. These two have been given a throwaway feud done over the last few weeks, but they have me interested and that is the key to good workers, maximising their minutes. I want to see what happens, and this guy is all set for a dream start in WWE. Also, LOVE a good top rope legdrop

5. The Rock - A lot has been said about him coming back being a positive or negative thing. Ziggler would be higher on the card, for example, if he wasn't here, but I can't help but like The Rock. Really enjoyed the Legends segment on Raw and he is giving the event a big time feel again this year. Lose or draw it has been great to have him around and involved again. He reminds me of my favourite time in wrestling and he is still great at what he does.

Would be interested to hear what peoples' own opinions are and how happy people are with the card in relation to who they like...

1. Daniel Bryan

-By far my current favorite wrestler in the WWE. He makes everything he does in the ring gold and he's developed so much as an endearing character and personality. I would have loved to have seen him win the 2013 Royal Rumble and challenge heel World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler, but we're getting him teaming with Kane against Dolph Ziggler & Big E. Langston instead. For some reason, I'm not really pumped about this match as much as I should be. Maybe because Dolph Ziggler is a singles competitor at the present moment, and he's just gotten a Tag Team Title shot out of nowhere. I actually think that AJ Lee should be more of a factor in this feud, and that Ziggler should be teaming up with more of a tag team specialist with Langston as the enforcer. Hopefully everyone brings their A game and we get a sleeper tag team hit at Mania. Hopefully Team Hell No retain when Kaitlyn cancels out AJ interference, possibly setting up Lee challenging Kaitlyn later in the night.

2. CM Punk

-He's effortlessly good on the mic and a fantastic story teller in the ring. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do with The Undertaker. I really thought that they should have kept the WWE Championship on Punk until WrestleMania and had him defend it in a Triple Threat against The Rock and John Cena, but this match against The Undertaker has been built up to be really interesting and feels like a perfect feature match. I'm still hoping to see Punk pass out in the Hell's Gate, refusing to tap out. It will add to Punk's "street credibility" for future star power. But if Punk won the match it would be pretty huge for him.

3. Chris Jericho

-Since returning as a babyface, Jericho has been absolutely on fire in the ring. He's so fucking good, even at his age -- he's the closest thing the WWE has to a modern HBK. He's been weirdly lost in the WrestleMania shuffle, but I'm sure he's had his pick of which young star to work with and he's going to make Fandango look great. Jericho's recent wins have made him look like he belongs in the main event scene too, which will make a potential Fandango win all the more shocking. A Jericho victory wouldn't cripple Fandango either. I like it when either guy can win a match and both come out great. I hope to see Jericho stick around a little bit after Extreme Rules and work with a few more younger guys on RAW and SmackDown leading into another match with Fandango, where Jericho could potentially put him over again.

4. Alberto Del Rio

-Really dig ADR as a performer. Everything he does in the ring looks so graceful and yet somehow dangerous. He's charismatic, he looks like a movie star and he's a natural babyface in the ring. Apparently Triple H is moving away from scripted promos and I think that we'll see that benefit a guy like Del Rio, who can now say what he is comfortable saying and in the way he wants to say it. He should really retain the World Title against Jack Swagger (an honorable mention of mine) and then move into a program with Dolph Ziggler. Fuck that would be good stuff.

5. Antonio Cesaro

-Just love this guy so much. He's so fucking good in the ring. Unbelievably good. No that's not everything, but Cesaro is confident as a presence and he's getting better on the mic. He's introduced yodelling to his act on SmackDown, which was hilarious, and he's moving more and more away from just being the "foreign guy" to being "Antonio Cesaro," if that makes sense. Give him time and I think we'll see him become a vital part of WWE programming week-in and week-out. He's not a part of WrestleMania yet, and that has me kind of down. If they could find a minute or two to send him out there and do some stuff where he tosses around a dude like Zack Ryder, I think it would do wonders to make him look meaningful to the WWE audience.

CM Punk - Overall the best guy in WWE today. Should have been in the title match in THE main event, but I guess a match with Undertaker is pretty much a main event in itself.

Chris Jericho - Should headline every event ever! Never mind. A match with Fandango should still be awesome.

Daniel Bryan - After getting himself to become one of the most over members on the roster in 2012, I'd have wanted to see Bryan in some kinda higher profile singles match, maybe with someone like Ziggler. But Team Hell No have been so popular, and rightfully so, that I'm happy for him to be in a tag title match, as long as it's not a throwaway five-minute match... which is probably will be. The same can not be said for his opponent though...

Dolph Ziggler - Man, has Ziggler lost a huge amount of steam lately or what? After seven years on the roster, two or three of them being one of the most over heels, how is it that Ziggler still hasn't had a legit Wrestlemania match? After splitting from Vickie, I imagined "main event, here we come"... instead, he's now with AJ and Big E and basically right back where he started. But with WWE always relying on names from the past, this is why guys like Ziggler will never get the chance to really put themselves on the map at the biggest event of the year. Guy should be in one of the "main events".

Antonio Cesaro - One of the best in-ring workers today, and definitely no slouch on the mic either. I'm pretty surprised he isn't on the card to be honest, considering he's the US champion and the fact that he seems to be impressing a lot of people. It's an absolute travesty this guy isn't on the card, as he definitely should be, but I guess it's still his first year with the company. Guy should definitely get some kinda match next year.

Dunno if they'd qualify as my "Fave Five" but these are guys I'm most interested in currently.

Christian - Or at least I would be if he were around :(

The Shield - Really interested to see where they go with this group. Having to keep them strong makes for some creative booking around these new guys. (Although I don't understand why the likes of Ryback, Cena, Orton, Show, Sheamus, etc. don't get the GMs to book them in singles matches and take them out that way, seeing as the 6 Man Tag matches seem to be The Shield's niche.)

Fandango - Wasn't a fan of Johnny Curtis when he won NXT2. Fell in love with the guy during his SmackDown! debut promos. Really pleased to see the guy get an opportunity and a "debut" match on the Grandest Stage of the All.

Wade Barrett - Feel like this guy should be doing something much more interesting. Guess that's the problem when you have Rock, Lesnar, HHH, Taker on the card; you're Main Eventers become Upper Midcarders and you're Upper Midcarders get bumped down the card.

Cody Rhodes - Same as above. A guy that has been "on the cusp" a couple of times but they've never pulled the trigger.

Honourable Mention - Dolph Ziggler - Same as above but that trigger could be pulled at Mania.

1) Sheamus - Not thrilled he's basically just the #2 to Orton against the Shield, but at least he's got a mania match so I can't complain too much.

2) Jericho - While I'd love to see Jericho being in a title match or doing something amazing he's getting up there in age and I suppose building a young star is as good a use for him as any right now. Fandango is a bit unusual though.

3) CM Punk - His mania role is just fine though I wish the build hadn't been fucked by that stupid fatal 4 way. Still it'll go fine I think.

4) Alberto Del Rio - I'm really surprised that he's become one of my favorites and I'm loving the deal with Swagger. Honestly think this is the first time I've been fully behind the babyface in a match in a long time.

5) James Storm - He's not WWE so no mania match for him. :( Still I'm intrigued by his current program with AJ Styles in TNA.

HBK won a match to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25. The Streak is a big deal and several people looking for a marquee match at Mania competing to fight him makes sense. I like that better than CM Punk randomly deciding to do something heelish to The Undertaker to piss him off and fight him.

James Steele

People say "Thank god Paul Bearer died so they have something to do for this match." like WWE wasn't going to do something to build the feud if Paul Bearer hadn't passed away.

How the fuck can anyone bitch about that fatal 4-way match?

The fatal 4 way was totally forced, and out of nowhere. Why should fighting for the streak go from being someone worthy challenging Taker and him accepting to them just having a random match over who gets to fight him?

Taker should have just come out and challenged Punk after he did a little promo whining about not being in the main event because of Cena and Rock. Punk could go on and on about not being champ and how much of a travesty it is and then *GONG* lights go out and Taker enters the stage, points at the mania sign and does the cut throat gesture. Leads to taker saying that if Punk really wants a shot at being the main event he's got it, but he'll have to go through hell to get it.

James Steele

It was 4 of the hottest young names in WWE fighting for a chance to become IMMORTAL at WrestleMania. That was the entire story of the match. The Undertaker showed up and said he is going to fight at WrestleMania. CM Punk came out right after it and said he was going to fight Taker and end the streak since he got screwed out of the WWE Title. There is no reason for Undertaker to randomly interfere in CM Punk's business.

James Steele is perfectly correct. The Fatal 4-Way makes perfect sense. Why wouldn't top stars that are ready to compete at that level not want to get a shot against ending the greatest streak in professional wrestling history? It was also a great way to have Punk come out of his series of WWE Championship losses with a strong win to remind people that's what he's been doing for like over a year. The only gripe that I could have had with it is that I think they could have made it elimination rules, so that Taker would truly get the undisputedly best opponent for WrestleMania. Sheamus could have Brogue Kicked Big Show and then Punk could have pulled Sheamus out of the ring and pinned Show for himself. Orton could have RKO'd Sheamus and then Punk could have broken up the pin and eliminated Sheamus himself. Then Punk could have beaten Orton cleanly with the GTS. Then Punk could claim to be on his game, having eliminated all three guys and looked like a dude that just can't be denied.

Since someone mentioned what Ziggler is doing at WrestleMania, in an alternate universe it would be so easy to imagine Alberto Del Rio turning face another way (or remaining a heel) and Dolph Ziggler beating Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship using his Money in the Bank title shot after Ryback attacks Big Show. Ryback goes after the biggest meal at WrestleMania, Ziggler defends the World Title against surprise Royal Rumble Winner Chris Jericho (who should have won last year, also), and we get Ziggler vs. Jericho as your World Title feud. Del Rio vs. Swagger could still even happen and doesn't need the World Title involved.

I woulda had the Taker come out as just old broken down Mark Calloway and have him be portrayed as an old relic, an old washed up has been kinda like Randy the Ram in the Rassler. Have him lose a match to some midcard bum like Mahal as a WM warm up match. Then have Punk come out and insult him. Say that the streak is over if he can't even beat that loser, there's no way he'll beat the best in the world and all that. Make it seem like Taker has no chance. Of course taker wins at WM but it would be different to have the Taker doing the chasing for once. Vinnie Mac, you should probably hire me as a booker. Woooooo!
