Not sure if its been mentioned but what do people think of last nights Raw ending???? Too far? i don't know, i did like it but felt guilty for doing so. Couldn't help thinking he was a real guy who died just weeks ago. What did you guys think?

Meh, I liked it. Still the edge of "the streak in jeopardy because the undertaker is crazed" or whatever just instead became a buzzkill...and it reminds me of how I don't care like I didn't for Wrestlemania 19's match of Taker vs A-Train/Big Show.

Currently being discussed in last night's RAW is WAR thread, but it's all good.

I felt pretty calm about it all, telling myself that Paul Bearer would laugh it off. It is all for the story line build of Punk crossing the line. It is way better than back and forth bantering.

A) Am I the only one who sees that the urn was never supposed to have contained the ashes of Paul Bearer? That it was supposed to be the urn he carried around and contained whatever it contained when he was doing so?

b) Tuesday Night in Texas, 1991, Hulk Hogan emptied the contents of the urn and threw them into the Undertaker's face, allowing him to win the match and WWF title. Who the hell ever complained then?

I thought it seemed very tasteless on tv. You'd have to ask Taker though, maybe it tasted like chicken

Undertaker just doesn't like chocolate milk mix.... :D

But as long as Bearer's family ok'd it, and numerous talents saying that he would have loved the angle, then it should be fine.

Everyone complains that WWE is PG and needs to push the envelope... but when they do, there is backlash "oh that was too far".... so, no pleasing those people I guess.

As the whole, the feud just hasn't got me hooked. I mean, at first I was into it, especially the whole dissing Paul Bearer thing made it incredibly edgy and "oh no he didn't"... but I dunno, Undertaker hasn't really done fuck all in this feud, and burned out Punk can really only do so much.

I wasn't offended by the shit on Raw though, was surprised how much Heyman looked like Bearer actually. The only truly awesome part of all this was when Punk dropped the urn and said "oh shit". The casual tone of his voice, the smug arrogance of playing with the urn, everything about that skit really oozed of a heel you wanna see get annihilated.

too far in the sense that it feels like a desperation move to get people to care.
i get throwing ashes in undertaker's face... but why did punk then start rubbing it all over his own body and face? yes, it's a "demented move," but punk isn't a demented character. the bigger insult to taker was dumping the ashes on taker himself, and punk already did that. so why? it just reeks of "shit, i better go ALL OUT to get people talking" and it's kinda ruining it for me.

I would have marked out if instead of "ashes" they used the ol' epic light and CM Punk drained Undertaker's energy/soul like Paul Bearer did at HIAC a few years ago.

When the druids first came out, I was hoping CM Punk would be lowered being tied to a giant version of his fist holding a lightning bolt logo and cut some "out of body" promo.

CM Punk is just dying to get any heat at all. I see why Taker is bored with this. Must suck being a legend and having to work with a vanilla midget.

laugh it off, it's prolly in his will that his death would be a storyline

The ending was good in making Punk as the despicable bad guy in this feud without having to going overboard with the shock or tackyness. Most of the outrage over this feud is because of things being implied than anything actually said.

People assume those ashes are Paul Bearer's but neither Punk nor Taker ever said they were. Same with Punk being careful with the taunting to ensure people knew it was against Taker's streak than him trashing Bearer.

Think Punk and Heyman openly mocking Lawler's heart attack was more tacky or offensive considering the crowd was more in shock of them actually doing it than just reacting to bad stuff heels do for heat.

This would have been lauded during the attitude era and the same people who are putting this down are the very ones who clamor for more attitude era.

I missed RAW but I saw the ending on youtube and it was cool, but too far? I don't see it.

Punk sneak attacking in the druid costume and destroying Taker with the urn really took me back to Attitude Era hi jinx. It was fun.

Exactly. It was great. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Was it "shocking," "controversial," a little uncomfortable? Sure, you could make that argument, but it is entertainment. Their job is to develop characters, tell a story, generate interest and entertain in order to earn revenues. If anyone felt they crossed the line, then don't tune in next Monday, order the PPV or buy/use any WWE merch or products.

yeah I don't see what the fuss is about. like it was said above, it was never supposed to be his ashes.

Great ending, better than them staring at each other, pointing at the god damn WM sign and having a dull back and forth. This is fun for me, kind of brings back memories of the wrist slitting, Mideon levitation, crucifixion UT of ministry fame.

Just wish there was some kind of consistency.

Smoke. A beam of light. Ashes. You never know what's in the urn.

Regardless of what anybody thinks about the build up, I guarantee the match will deliver big time.

I really thought a nice finish to the build-up between Punk and Taker last night would have been for Taker to come out saying since Punk took something that belonged to him, he took something that belonged to Punk. Punk comes out saying he has everything he needs, the longest title reign in 25 years, longer title reigns that all of Taker's combined, etc. Punk turns to talk to Heyman who isn't behind him, lights go black and a spotlight shines on Heyman crucified to Taker's symbol, ala Orlando Jordan during his feud with JBL.

Yes, because the two extremes presented here are the only ones.
