For the record, this isn't the "first" pic of the set. There have been a few floating around for a few weeks now.

Anyway, looks awesome either way

I know the weather is supposed to be nice, but I was concerned with 'Mania is New York and outdoors that some kind of canopy would be used if inclimate weather was in the forecast for this sunday.

Then again, Lady Liberty could double as one big lightning rod.

Looks good just hope they thought of a guttering system to funnel rain water out of the top of that canopy if it were to pour rain.

Also I think it would be awesome to see pyro shooting out of the torch of the Statue of Liberty

The set designers were smart to place a covering above the ring to pool at least some of the heat from the air-blowing ring posts. :y:

Me and Xero are in the same row (10) and same section (118) as Peep.

This is row 30 of the section we're all in from some concert.

The email I got said signs were being limited to 2ft x 1ft. That's rather small..I doubt the enforce it, if they do there will be pissed off people. I'm not bringing a sign cause I feel I'm too far away..

Kind of nervous about those pillars holding up the rig above the ring. Hope they aren't as big as last year, otherwise will likely ask to be moved since I'm pretty sure we're directly diagonal from the ring.

How can we be asked to be moved? Would they let us?

Apparently last year people had issues and the staff were trained on what to do. Apparently a lot asked and wound up in a section reserved for production. No harm in asking if there is obstruction and I absolutely am prepared to do so.

The supports look the same as they do now, before they added the palm tree covers. This year they're covered as well but it doesn't seem to be as obnoxious as the palm trees were

No idea.

For reference this is the view from 207
http://aviewfrommyseat.com/thumb/frank-20120818173921.jpg?rand=8707

That seat is on the same side as 118 but the other end where the entrance is. They might not be able to see the stage at that angle..

Xero
04-04-2013, 10:13 PM
207 is behind the stageish. The ones who were moved had no obstructed view thing on the ticket and were told the layout had changed after they were sold. Dunno just kind of paranoid. Hope we're not moved honestly since I got pretty much where I wanted. Great view of the stage and ring.

Xero and Droford, are you guys going to Mania together? What hotel are you staying at?

Droford
04-04-2013, 10:27 PM
I've looked at seating charts and that pic I posted in here of the view and I'm 80% confident the view from 118 wont be obstructed by the supports. The ring will be a smaller area where that little covered thing is in that pic.

I would be pissed off to get floor seats which were more expensive and have an obstructed view though..

Lol no..I'm staying at the Howard Johnson 5 miles from met life stadium. Probably going to regret that reading hotel reviews but it was $50ish a night.

I'm also going to wrestlecon Saturday..Chikara show @4pm..

Busted open radio is doing a show from wrestlecon as well as post wm show from the Sheraton across from the stadium. Going to try and get on the radio and get tpww a plug..we'll see if that happens.

I know xero said he was doing the hof at msg

lol yeah I'm staying at hotel my house. I live like 20 mins from the stadium. Our tickets just happened to be in the same row because I guess we bought them around the same time.

Just doing the HOF and Mania, really. Thought about Axxess but wanna do a day in NYC, and tomorrow is busy. Will probably see if there's stuff going down in Times Square, which I've heard there is.

Last year in Miami I had one of the palm trees block the view of one of the turnbuckles. It wasn't a huge deal because I could move my head and see what was happening but had I known that I could have been moved, I would definitely have complained.

Set for this year looks outstanding.

I'm trying to get to the stadium by 2. 2.5 hours before the stadium opens and 4.5 hours before the official show start time. Normally for Giants games I try to get there like 2.5-3 hours before the start, but it's better to arrive earlier for WM for extra tailgating.

I thought about going even earlier - but I dunno. While there will be more people there than at a regular Giants game, a shitton of people flew in from all over the country/world for this so most of them are probably using public transportation/cabs.

That is kinda crazy. I didn't think it was normal but maybe it is and I've always just assumed you couldn't bring food or drinks in.

I've brought in water before, but you have to unscrew the cap in front of them and they have to watch you throw it away. You know, because anybody who has a plastic bottle cap is guaranteed to throw it on the field.

Didn't know I could bring in food though.

This is the section I'll be sitting in. 135. 5 rows higher than where this was taken. Also this was taken from seat 12, my seats are 1 and 2. Assuming 1 and 2 are to the left of this picture (I think so but I can't remember), I should be in the clear. If it's to the right I'll be dangerously close to being in pillar territory.

Evil Vito
04-06-2013, 03:54 PM
Actually, looking at the pics on WWE.com I'm even more uncertain.

My tickets say nothing about obstructed views but I think the only ones that have that are ones with no view of the stage. I don't think they factored in the pillars at all.
