View Full Version : Ryback's Push Over?

After Ryback posted on Twitter earlier this week the following regarding John Cena and his ex-wife,
Watching the pain on Cena’s face was worth standing back for. Funny the 2 things he says I lack his ex wife seems to love. #RybackRules
All of Ryback's tweets have been deleted and he has replaced them with this one...
If you have something worth fighting for you have to fight for it. Being bred to b scared is the problem. Rules will be broken. #RybackRules
So what do you guys think? Will this be the end of his push?

Nah, a bollocking at best, if even that.
Nah, his push isn't ending anytime soon.

I think his push could be over but not for that reason, if he loses it over for him, If he wins its stupid how they are booking his character as a punk.

it is a circus and they are finally integrating social media into the 3rd ring of said circus.

God damnit this is why we can't have nice things! As soon as someone shows even the slightest bit of personality WWE censors them because it's not "kid friendly".

Peyton Manning audible editing of posts by WWE or The RYBACK himself. Push continues. Feel it.

Nope. Probably just the WWE toning down on what he can and can't use for verbal attacks against Cena.

Hopefully this doesn't result in future feuds where two guys are cutting promos in front of everyone and they pull out their smartphones to tweet jabs at each other while the Titantron displays the text screen of battlewords via Twitter to the live audience.

THE RYBACK as a heel should run around destroying everyone who crosses his path, until he runs into Lesnar. That would be the money feud for Summerslam but as much as I like THE RYBACK, there is no way he's gonna beat Super Cena

The WWE's been using Twitter to fuel rivalries for awhile and not all of the tweets have been "PG", exactly. These are just logs on the fire, man.

If Jack Swagger can drive down the highway fucked off his tits and still get WHC matches, I think Skip will be fine.
Then again, MVP was on a big push and all it took was a bad attitude during one drug test to kill his WWE career.

If kids of the WWE target age have Twitter, then there are far worse things to worry about.

I'm thinking they may use the Cena/Umaga ending with Cena refusing to break a vicious STF and choking Ryback out at Extreme Rules.

Ugh, if they plan on keeping any momentum for Ryback whatsoever he has to go over Cena eventually.

I would have figured this discussion would have been made after he lost cleanly to Mark Henry at WrestleMania.
Now the push is back on. FEED ME CENA! RYBACK RULES!

It's fucking insane that he has still never won a legit match on PPV. Ridiculous booking. That being said, him suddenly beating Cena as his first real PPV win to win the title I guess can potentially save things. Judging from Raw, they may be going with the generic "evasive heel" thing with him which completely doesn't fit his character. I see this ending badly.

I know this is a stench and probably won't happen BUT double turn with the Shield coming out and attacking Ryback. The beat down on Monday is to explain that Ryback is a coward and afraid of them.
And I have never been for turning Cena heel. Would just rather have a face Ryback and a hell Cena over vice versa.

I'm confused. Who's all turning in this scenario? If Ryback would be turning face again, wouldn't making him out to be a coward be an even worse idea?

I'd love to see Ryback win the title at Extreme Rules. He dominates for a little while until someone from The Shield (preferrably Ambrose with interference from the other 2) has Ryback's number once again. Would be a great way to put both parties over. Ambrose/The Shield prove their dominance over the man that dominated Cena, and Ryback didn't lose one-on-one. You could easily give it back to Ryback the next month or something when you bar the rest of The Shield from ringside.

It would be a story the Shield would be telling. Like when CM Punk beat Ryback and said he should not receiv a new title shot since he already lost.

I think that was just there to inform people that Ryback is the heel in this feud. Cena was all manning up and Ryback is picking his spots. I could totally see Ryback becoming a "Paul Heyman Guy" after realising that what Cena said about him lacking something between his ears being true. So he gets someone to think for him.

Really? We need a generic cowardly heel tactic just to remind everyone who the heel is in the feud? We're heading toward a pretty dark, paint-by-numbers day when heels have to be pussies just to remind the people who to root for.

During the Attitude Era, fans cheering heels was "Freedom of Choice".
Now, fans cheering heels means "We're in Bizzaro Land."

I half-jokingly suggested a while back that Mick Foley become the heel manager of Ryback, going all deranged Mick and essentially being the Dr. Frankenstein to the monster. I would actually not mind it if the WWE went that direction by having Foley help out Ryback at Extreme Rules.
The Ryback would be Mick Foley's final chance to leave a major mark on the business, in his mind.

I said him doing the evasive heel this and shying away from fighting Cena was stupid.
You said you thought that was just there to inform people that Ryback is the heel.

You reacted as if I said it was a good thing and that Ryback will now be a pussified heel all the time going forward.
After RAW i'm afeared Ryback's heel turn will go the way of Rikishi and his time in the main-event heel scene.

No. I just said that's a shitty way to go about designating the heel in a feud and if the writers are so narrow-minded that they think that's the way to go, Ryback is gonna fail miserably.
As much as people seemed to hate the end of Raw this week, at least Ryback didn't look like a total pussy. Hopefully they don't do that again.

Yes, we're headed towards (circa) 2005.

To be fair, I don't think the reason that happened a lot then was to remind people who was the heel. I think it was because the writers lacked creativity and that's the only way they could think of to book heels. I think that's the same reason they do it now too.
