View Full Version : Is Drew McIntyre ever going to be more than what he is right now?

When he made his debut in 2009 he was Vince McMahon's chosen one. Now he's not even the lead member of 3MB. What happened? Can it be fixed? Is this just the usual year slump they give people before they push them? Has Drew McIntyre seen his main events come and go already?

Have you watched wrestling before? Like for more than a couple of years?

Since I mentioned the bit about Drew Mac in 2009 I think the answer is clearly yes.

And so you realise guys can go through lulls before making it big, like Austin for example, even after shitty gimmicks?

I hope so. Big fan of Drew.

Yes, I do. This thread is for people to discuss whether they see Drew McIntyre ending up in that position or not.

Drew is awesome. I remember when he debuted he was absolutely terrible and bland, but then prior to his pre-3MB injury, he had really come along great and was having some fantastic matches on Main Event and NXT. He's got the size and look, can have some great matches, his promos aren't too awful either. I like that he gets TV time in 3MB, even if it is basically Job Squad 2013. But I think if he were to ever really break out on his own he should change his attire a bit, and probably cut his hair.

All he needs is a first blood ironman match to kick start his revival clearly.

I'm not ashamed to admit, I was also interested to see where they were going with his storyline where he had a crush of Kelly Kelly but was still being a bully behind her back. :o

Wrong thread and that makes no sense. You can't have someone have "first blood" more than once in a match....

I know, I was making a cunt of your previous suggestions.

Lol. Mike hasn't even been here in months and you're STILL bitching about him, you know he really made his impact if that's happening :-P

This might come as a shocker, and apologies to anybody who has been living under a rock for the last 70 odd years, but Clark Kent is Superman without his glasses on. I know right, nobody saw this coming. My point is that we all you're the sock of Alvin hobbes who is in turn the sock of mike adamle, you've just not had the common sense to refrain from being a twat long enough to slip by and start fresh. So please, kindly fuck off.

I hope not. Drew bores me to tears.

He's in the same boat as everyone else outside the main event, he needs an angle to work with.

He's young, needs a lot of mic experience and adjustment, still worthy of saving.

He should have a 90 minute Iron Man Match with El Generico.

Only way to salvage Drew is team him with Regal as The Empire. The only way.

Only if it was confined in Casket Match rules, the winner puts his opponent in the casket the most amount of times.

Only is it's like Russian Doll style. Casket inside a casket inside a casket. Only.

I agree with this. Dolph Ziggler was paired with Vickie Guerrero at the time and using her power to abuse Kelly and such. I was sort of hoping for a development where Drew would use his connections to Vince McMahon to override Vickie's authority and get her to stand down. Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler would have been a pretty good match in time for WrestleMania, but the WWE seemingly lost interest in Drew around this point.

He's still young, really good (his current gimmick allows him to surprise people with his more high impact and athletic stuff) and when the band eventually does break up, he's the obvious choice to turn face and put over Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal.

I don't know, as long as he goes back to his old theme, with intro bit.

He's still pretty young in terms of wrestling age considering the majority of the star-quality pushes usually happen around the 28-31 age range.

Hogan didn't get Hulkamania until he was near 30 while Ziggler was around 31 when he got his MitB case. Orton, Cena, and Lesnar got theirs a lot earlier only because Vince was rushing to find a new top star.

Agreed. LOVED his theme and entrance.
