What was their deal? I don't remember any promos from them or feuds, the only thing I remember is Snow wearing that T-shirt and them doing the Entrance for Gillberg.

Don't forget that insane Hardcore match between Holly and Al Snow at Valentine's Day Massacre.

That wiki article only has the WWF stuff in it, but Al Snow had started referring to himself as a jobber and wearing the JOB Squad shirt in ECW

J.O.B. Squad was great. Holly, Snow, Scorpio, Blue Meanie, Gillberg were funny as hell and aside from maybe Gillberg, who was funny in his role, all brought something to the table. I really did enjoy their matches as well as the entire gimmick and what it represented. One way of looking at it is this: they were lower mid-card guys that had SOMETHING to do and some direction. Not even close to the case today.

it was great for the smarks! the t-shirt read "1.2.3 for life!"
hilarious that they were a stable who used to job and put over other guys. funny smarky stuff

This just seemed like one of Russo's "give lower card guys something too do even if it goes nowhere"

We remember it and we're still talking about it 15 years later. I think we could qualify it as a success.

I liked it for exactly that reason. 80% of today's roster: what's their point? It's good to have some reason to stand out.

You seriously did not compare a war, that actually happened in real life, to a stable in the WWE, which is on the television.

You named something Russo did right, then.

Wasn't criticizing it. Just looking back on it, that's exactly what it was.

Yeah I can't believe the U.S. jobbed to Vietnam back then either. Maybe if they had the J.O.B. Squad as their soldiers things would've been different.
