I like Once Upon a Time, but definitely think that this spinoff will negatively affect/dilute "the brand".

Yeah but it had Rob Schneider so it wasn't a fair test of the concept.

How's the second series of Once Upon A Time been? I stuck with the first all the way through but it had so many faults, mostly being that like 4 of the main 5 characters were all awful.

Since the TV season ended last night, I guess I'll put in my picks on what I'll try watching for next season.

Definately will check out the The Blacklist. Spader can hold down a show rather well. However, I'm waiting for Ubisoft to hit NBC with a lawsuit since they got Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming out.

Fox has been a dead network to me since House went off the air. But I'll give Sleepy Hollow a shot. Ain't nothing cooler than a gun totin', axe wielding Headless Horseman.

And like all the other comic book nerds, I'll give Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D a few episodes of my time. Kinda wish it had a little extra star power to go along with Ming-Na Wen, but I'll take what I can get.

Corporate CockSnogger
05-24-2013, 08:08 PM
I haven't actually looked at much of the new stuff, but o the things I know about...

I'll def be watching Agents of SHIELD because even regardless of it being part of the marvel universe, I'd watch anything with Joss Whedon's name on.

Gonna check out The Crazy Ones solely for Sarah Michelle Gellar. After seeing the trailer it just looks like a "hey look at Robin Williams acting silly" thing and not much else but whatever, I'll see what it's like at least.

Also Intelligence looks pretty fun and has Josh Holloway so yeah that was always gonna have my attention.

Skippord
05-24-2013, 09:33 PM

ALSO HE SAID "DOC" IN THE TRAILER

Corporate CockSnogger
05-25-2013, 08:38 AM
Yeah I'd heard nothing about it either until the trailer for it was suggested after the trailer for The Crazy Ones. I think I'd like it more if it was more sci-fi and a bit less secret service agent guy. There's like a million of those.

Enlisted and Gang Related (John Locke and RZA on the same team? c'mon son) were my favourite trailers for all of the new shows, thought everything else looked pretty meh. Fairly sure Intelligence will be cancelled after like 3 episodes. Will probs check out Brooklyn Nine Nine from day one because of Andre Braugher and Terry Crews, don't mind Andy Samberg either.

I can't tell as I have pretty much forgotten the first season. I'd say the first season was more exciting and interesting, probably because it could have ended there. The main story takes a different twist but it's pretty much the band doing what they usually do.

ABC has placed a series order for Marvel’s Agent Carter for the 2014/15 season, according to Variety, starring Hayley Atwell. Atwell played the role in Captain America: The First Avenger, and also starred in a brief video short that was distributed with the home video release of Iron Man 3. That short set up the upcoming series, by focusing on her life as she starts a new career as a secret agent after the disappearance of Captain America. That’s similar to the way Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was introduced, as a short on The Avengers DVD (see "An 'Agent Carter' TV Series from Marvel?" for the video short).

ABC also renewed Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a second season.

If you’re keeping score at home on comic-based prime time TV shows, after Thursday’s announcements, it’s DC in the lead with five (see "'Constantine' to Series"), and Marvel trailing with two (and Image Comics with one big one, albeit on a channel that is in fewer homes than the Marvel and DC shows).

And with a total of eight comic-based primetime shows on TV, the comics medium will be getting exposure far beyond what it’s ever had at any time in the past.

SlickyTrickyDamon

If you make it onto CBS then your chances are good. They have a lot more viewers though so the show has to be pretty bad to be canceled.

Afternoon update to Jura's list.

NBC cancels Dracula

ABC renews Last Man Standing

CBS renews The Mentalist. Cancels Intelligence, Bad Teacher, Hostages, Friends with Better Lives, and The Crazy Ones.

Liked Intelligence but got boring after it became more CSI and less hi-tech hacking/virus uploading. Surprised Mentalist survived.

Liked crazy ones too, bad teachers only had 3 episodes.

The Crazy Ones only had one good thing about it.

Always been meaning to check out The Crazy Ones because of SMG, but never really did....

Tuned in once for like a minute and a half, and she didn't appear during that time, and it was dreadfully unfunny....

I thought it was quite funny once you got into it, definitely a lot worse out there.

The two younger lads in it were pretty funny at times, to be fair. Thought Robin Williams was quite bad in it. "funny voice" just doesn't seem that great to me anymore. It didn't help that it didn't actually go anywhere either, like every single episode could be played in any order and it wouldn't matter in the slightest.

Think it would of gotten better as it went on honestly but wasn't shocked it got cancelled. The whole self contained episodes seems to be the norm nowadays though, suppose we're just spoilt not having shows cancelled after two episodes here.

I think NBC just goes through shows until something sticks.

NBC will be adding 12 new series next year.

About 6-7 million viewers on a sunday every week. I think it's probably safe especially with Disney's connections to the right. (Last Man Standing)

Its actually been on Fridays the last two years which is where shows usually go to die but its been pretty steady ratings wise. The shows that have aired after it on fridays(Malibu country and the neighbors)were both canceled after moving/debuting in the Friday time slot.

Oddly enough, moving it out of the Friday slot now..I think it would end up getting the show canceled. The only other show I watch on ABC is the Goldbergs and I could see them moving it to Friday nights.

Renewed for 4th season anyways.

Guess I looked at the calendar wrong.

Very impressive numbers for a Friday.

Old people who watch Jeopardy and Wheel keep it on by accident and CBS gets the ratings for it.
