The UFC has reportedly suspended lightweight fighter Nate Diaz due to his violation of the UFC’s code of conduct.
Diaz wrote a derogatory post on his official Twitter account. UFC President Dana White later said Diaz would be fined and suspended or cut for the action.

The UFC has now released the following statement:

“We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization. Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided.”
The suspension stems from Diaz tweeting about Pat Healy on Thursday. Healy was recently suspended for a drug test failure for marijuana following UFC 159. The failure cost Healy both his fight night bonuses, totaling $130,000.

Diaz wrote, “I feel bad for pat Healy that they took a innocent mans money and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest F-g in the world.”

Diaz’s manager, Mike Kogan, had the following to say about Kogan’s use of the word “f-g”: “Nate voiced a personal opinion about an incident that took place involving Bryan Caraway in which he chased Dana all over Twitter to try to get a bonus, which was taken away from Pat Healy, got the bonus, and then had the nerve to go back out there and bash the guy and talk s–t about weed-smoking and how much he hates it and how it’s wrong, which was, at best, a s–t move on his side. Guess what? The word f—-t, at least in Northern California, and where Nate is from, means b—-. It means you’re a little punk. It has nothing to do with homosexuals at all. So when Nate made the comment that he made, he didn’t make it in reference to homosexuals or calling Caraway a homosexual. He just said it was a bitch move.”

Kogan added: “How people take it is beyond my control. But that’s what my intent was. And it was a b—- move, for the record. Pat Healy? It’s not like Pat Healy is Georges St-Pierre and he could afford it. That was probably the most money he’s ever made in his life. And because of something he did I’m pretty sure way before the fight … it’s not like he walked out into the cage with f—ing weed in his mouth. He got fined. He doesn’t need somebody else dwelling over it. I’m sure some people got offended, and hopefully this article will explain what his intent was. But how people view it is how people view it. I can’t control that. His intent was not to make a derogatory term toward homosexuals. He used the word to refer to a punk or a b—-.”

Kogan obviously fails to realize not everyone applies to his and Nate Diaz’s view of the world.
Nate should be more like Dana and keep his language PG.

They're overly sensitive to the point where it's getting ridiculous. What Mitrione said about Fallon Fox crossed a line, but the context of what Diaz said makes it clear he wasn't being homophobic. Does he deserve some kind of fine? Maybe. A suspension and/or being cut is kind of ridiculous though. I've read worst shit from Forrest Griffin's twitter.

In like 2 years if you say anything that is offensive to any group of people you will be fine, etc.

I can picture it now "Jon Jones was suspended today for anti-fat remarks"

It wasn't for cursing it was for hate-speech.

Good thing Dana White doesn't have a problem with cursing, or else this would be pretty hypocritical.

I wonder what Dana would do if Anderson Silva said "Fag" in the same manner. I am guessing nothing more than a fine.

Exactly. Punishment depends on how important you are to the grand scheme of the company. Nate is on a two fight losing streak including a title shot, so they can make an example out of him now.

He really does seem like a cheap imitation of his brother 90% the time, trying to win real man of the month by using as many slurs as he can.
