Hooking up NES to my new TV

i hooked up my NES to play some super mario bros to my new LCD tv and I get no sound.
Anyone have any idea why? Its hooked up by A/V cables.
Sound on TV works.

Actually all you need is the original RF adapter and the cable that plugs in the back with the red yellow and white ends. But you can buy that too.

Just plug the red end into the Digital Audio Output port on the tv and it should work fine.
