I was thinking about The Undertaker and all his opponents over the years, and I can never remember him having a meaningful match with Chris Jericho. I think he the last guy left on the roster who is a big enough star, good enough wrestler, and potentially interesting enough feud to deliver the standard we've come to expect from Undertaker's mania matches now.

Noid, I expect gold but Hunico can't be involved.

No. He needs to have a match with Sting.

Chris Jericho vs Sting? That would be odd.

Not really Sting of the Police. They could rassle over who is the best lead singer.

This would be awesome. WWE builds "Jericho vs the legendary Sting" and out comes, not Steve Borden, but Gordon Sumner! Then they have Jericho & Fozzy vs Sting & the Police in a battle of the bands.

They can also argue over who rocked the semi-lez hairdo better.

Okay, so they make the match then Mark Henry comes in and crushes both guys, injuring Jericho and taking his place in the match against Undertaker.

Bing, bang, boom.

Fairly simply and fairly generically:

Chris Jericho comes out and talks about how he has never had a "real Wrestlemania moment" (Ignoring that time he main evented, all the world titles he has fought for, that time he fought HBK, and that time he fought Christian) and how his win/loss record at the event hasn't been too impressive. "I lost to freakin' Fandango last year!" and such.

Jericho then talks about how it isn't too late to make his lasting mark on WM, and challenges Taker and then goes through the standard "I NEED to beat him" spiel.

That or he could do what he did with HBK and the Royal Rumble, basically wanting to destroy HBK's legacy etc. etc.

It's hard to say, for me. Jericho is a great wrestler, him and Taker could put on a great match. My only concern is that if it was Jericho Vs Taker, they would need to have a hell of a build up to make it "feel" like he could threaten the streak. My main problem with the Punk/ Taker match was not the match itself, but the fact that there wasn't enough of a build up. I want it to feel like a big match at WrestleMania, not just "oh, it's another Taker Vs ____ at WrestleMania"

I wonder if there is a reason The Undertaker and Chris Jericho have never really worked together over the years? I'm not suggesting there's any heat or anything, but it seems like the two have just been kept separate. To be fair, I used to feel the same way about Jericho and Kurt Angle when he was around. Yeah, they had that three-way feud with Chris Benoit just after they all turned up in the WWE, but besides that they never really worked against each other.

Since Taker is at the stage of his career where he can essentially pick his opponents and select the exact dates he wants to work, I'm actually thinking Taker will pick Daniel Bryan as his WrestleMania opponent next year. There is no hotter act in the WWE, and Taker has worked with Bryan in the UK and such. There is no one (including even Chris Jericho) who could get a better match out of Taker, and given that he likes to work the MMA style more these days, Bryan is, in some ways, a perfect guy to work with in that sense. They might even bring up the fact that Daniel Bryan is a pupil of Shawn Michaels and have HBK appear in Bryan's corner for the match. That's my obscure prediction, anyway.

As for Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho? I would probably start things at Survivor Series between the two. In a big SS Elimination Match, The Undertaker and Chris Jericho are partners and such. During the match, a stray Undertaker big boot leads to Jericho getting eliminated. Taker goes on to win the match, but Jericho seems to be haunted by his elimination. The Undertaker shows up in the Royal Rumble Match and they talk about how Taker is going to give one of the championships one last run. Chris Jericho is in the Royal Rumble Match and is eliminated by The Undertaker. Taker continues to be a badass, but all of sudden Jericho hits him in the back with a steel chair. He then eliminates The Undertaker as payback for his own elimination.

When asked about it on RAW, Chris Jericho says that The Undertaker is a legend, but so is Chris Jericho. He got kicked in the face by Taker at Survivor Series and his dreams of headlining another WrestleMania were tossed over the top rope by Undertaker at the Royal Rumble. Most men would take that lying down, but Chris Jericho is not most men. He is not afraid of The Undertaker -- The Undertaker should be afraid of him.

They hype The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho as a battle between two legends; two men who just keep getting better with age and are going to deliver a classic. Jericho has technically turned heel, but it's like a Shawn Michaels heel turn, where he's only the bad guy because he's going after something so beloved. Actually, bring Shawn Michaels back for the story. Jericho invites him to the Highlight Reel and says that he needs to get in touch with the Chris Jericho that can defeat The Undertaker -- the Chris Jericho that beat three Hall of Famers at WrestleMania XXV, the Chris Jericho that beat Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock in the same night, and the Chris Jericho that put Shawn Michaels' head through the Jeritron. Jericho says "He's sorry, but this needs to be done," and proceeds to snap and put HBK through the Jeritron again. Complete with a rare blade job from Shawn Michaels. Jericho then proceeds to paint himself with HBK's blood and yells at the camera "Are you scared of me, baby???!!"

Jericho enters one of the Elimination Chambers and says that he wants to win the championship so that he can defend it against Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX. Maybe he even does become World Heavyweight Champion? That would certainly make things interesting -- title vs. streak. Anyway, Jericho becomes focused on becoming World Champion over February and March while The Undertaker takes some time off and prepares for his match against Jericho at WrestleMania.

To play mind games with Taker, Jericho actually shows footage of The Undertaker losing (obviously not at WrestleMania events), and explains how Taker lost each match. Jericho sort of goes "myth-busting" heading into Mania against Taker, and tries to psyche him out by reminding him that he is just a man. Jericho prepares even starts calling himself "The Phenom Breaker," and talks about how he's cracked the code to beating Taker. He maybe even talks to a "doctor" about how The Undertaker can't be 100% and that he's got to be close to retirement. Just heel tactics that try to convince us that a shell of a man will show up at WrestleMania.

When the event comes around, Chris Jericho enters with his own light-up gothic-style robe. Maybe it can even have a "code" theme like Jericho has so he looks like some sort of "digital" Undertaker. Fozzy also record a song that is based on the Death March Undertaker uses. The match between the two would be pretty amazing, and they do a spot where Chris Jericho gets The Undertaker in the Walls of Jericho, but Taker keeps getting close to the ropes, only for Jericho to drag him back into the middle of the ring. Eventually, Shawn Michaels returns out of nowhere and hits the ring after a referee bump and proceeds to give Jericho the Sweet Chin Music, which sends Jericho back into a Tombstone for the pin. This gives Jericho ammunition to claim that he had The Undertaker beat, but HBK got in his business. He proceeds to call out HBK and reminds him that he once punched his wife in the face. This leads to either Triple H or Daniel Bryan standing up for Shawn Michaels and facing him at Extreme Rules, where Jericho either goes over Triple H or puts over Daniel Bryan. If the Death March-style theme is working, you can have Jericho continue to use it as a theme and keep being a heel. But then it can be an easy face turn for him.

tl;dr version:

* The Undertaker eliminates Chris Jericho at the Royal Rumble.

* Chris Jericho attacks The Undertaker with a steel chair and tosses him out of the Rumble to prevent Taker from being a World Champion again.

* Jericho gets in touch with his "dark side" by inviting HBK onto the Highlight Reel and putting his head through the Jeritron again.

* To keep himself busy, Jericho goes after one of the championships to try and secure it for his WrestleMania match against The Undertaker.

* The Undertaker beats Chris Jericho when Shawn Michaels helps out Undertaker.

* Jericho spends the next few months feuding with Triple H and Daniel Bryan, beating Triple H in a feature match at Extreme Rules, and then proceeding to put over Daniel Bryan at Payback 2014, which they hold in San Antonio.
