View Full Version : Who's winning Money in the Bank?

It is possible that someone else may be added as an eighth member of the match, but for now, we have seven confirmed top babyfaces, all of whom have been a World Champion in the past, fighting for the briefcase and the right to challenge for a championship whenever they want.

Discuss.

Daniel Bryan easy

Would rather it be RVD

Another RVD/Cena feud would be cool, but I don't think RVD has enough heat right now for it to work again. Obvious choice is D-Bry

RVD returning to the company, winning Money in the Bank and then cashing in on a downed Cena later in the evening would be pretty eventful. Could be used to set up a real feud between the two. It just seems too perfect to have Daniel Bryan win and use the briefcase to challenge Cena at SummerSlam and prove he's not "the weak link," however.

Dunno they don't exactly need to give bryan the mitb. His push is going just fine without it.

Who in a match of former World Champions needs to be given the win?

CSL could use it.

Unless the rumors of Christian's return "being a top priority" are true... But that's doubtful and I see DBry winning it

lol a 12-nothing blowout for Bryan.

Bryan is over right now, but CSL should get it with a nice long-term build.

Knowing WWE though, he'd lose for 5 months before winning the title.

In my thread where I posted a fantasy SummerSlam card, I've suggested the possibility that Brock Lesnar gets involved at Money in the Bank, and not only ruins CM Punk's chances, but Daniel Bryan's as well. Rob Van Dam could then have a clear shot at the briefcase and cash in later that night on a downed Cena (laid out by a pissed off Mark Henry).

Would Rob Van Dam vs. John Cena be a big enough match to headline SummerSlam? The build to Daniel Bryan can continue.

Big Vic

Bryan wins it, cashes in that night, beats cena, turns heel at SummerSlam in a rematch with Cena by cheating.

Droford

Lesnar will take out Punk with an f5 off the ladder that much is probably a given.

Everyone is all over Daniel Bryan..but..I honestly think its Orton's to lose.

If WWE actually takes RVD and puts the strap on that dumbass, fuck them.

RVD costs punk the match and unsurprisingly reveals himself as a Hey man guy and sets up a punk/rvd feud. So they can push back Lesnar.

Christian wins it in a "big moment" that "no one sees coming" because they "underestimate him".

Puts over Christian, and they can start building him up as a major player.

Serves to fuel everybody else (especially Daniel Bryan), who are all like "I lost, now I have to work even harder to prove that I deserve a shot at the title".

DBryan would be the only one I'd mark out for winning, but to be honest this MITB match is a bit shit. A lot of those guys could get legit title shots anyway just by walking out and challenging the champion (like Batista's infinite title shots). The MITB match should be mainly midcarders that have potential to go on and win their FIRST big title, with a few spot monkeys thrown in.

The midcarders all get to face off for the whc mitb.

Bryan

I'd be shocked but out of the remaining guys, Orton would be my wild card pick.

Punk and Sheamus don't need the case as an excuse for future title shots while everyone else seem very unlikely.

Of these I picked D-Bry since it's been telegraphed that him and Cena were going into a feud leading into Summerslam.

The obvious winner would be Daniel Bryan who would go on to challenge John Cena for a title match at Summerslam and prove that he is not the weak link. The most unlikely to win the match is Christian Cage. If Christian wins, he can go heel and rekindle his past rivalry with John Cena when he was drafted to RAW.

Surprised Christian is getting so many votes. Really, though, he's one of the few guys in there that would actually benefit from the win. Orton, Sheamus, Punk, Kane, RVD and even Bryan are on the path to the top. They can challenge at any given time. Bryan winning would serve the perfect "I'm challenging you to prove I'm not the weak link, Cena," but the company may have plans for a longer build, you know? Bryan gets cost the match, beats a high profile guy at SummerSlam (maybe even Mark Henry) and then moves onto a program with Cena post-SummerSlam. Bryan is so hot at the moment that you can either capitalize on it now or slip him into the undercard and make people actually care about that.

Earlier this year, my dream WrestleMania card featured a Money in the Bank Ladder Match with an open shot at either title attached, and I thought Christian would be the best choice to win that. They can discuss how Christian has never pinned someone to become champion and play up a "will Christian prove he can win the title cleanly, or will he cash in like Edge and steal the title?" The moral condundrum and self-doubt of Christian could make him an intriguing character. Is he a superhero or is he human?

I've got the sense that the WWE loves Christian. He's always had a spot in the company -- leaving was his choice and coming back was his as well. He's always featured and he always makes everyone he works with look good. He's reliable to the fucking point (minus injuring himself a fair bit, but he always shakes that off and probably knows when it's his time to move on). I've never gotten the sense they want to make him the focal star of the promotion, nor should he be (although I think a case could have been made in 2005 when he was fucking OVER!), but with two World Titles floating around, I could see them giving it to him and letting him make someone else look amazing when he does drop the title, like he did with Randy Orton in 2011. Plus, I get with Christian that if he did win, it'd be good for morale. Seems like the sort of guy everyone in the back would like and would love to see get shots and such.

Christian's best chance at winning is that it gives him credibility -- the one thing that he's probably lacked in his career as a singles star. You just don't "buy" him beating John Cena cleanly. Plus, he's never won Money in the Bank before. They love throwing this "Master of the Ladder Match" into these things, but I think it hurts a guy when they never win it. For long can Christian be a "Master of the Ladder Match" without winning one? He's been riding the Triangle Ladder Match, TLC and the Extreme Rules Ladder Match against Del Rio (that one far more recent) for quite a while, but it has to run thin when people realise "Oh, Christian never wins these things."

I'm actually going with Orton here. I think Bryan will be in the main event of SummerSlam against Cena, but the way Bryan has been going the match can easily happen on its own without needing to have a cash-in involved.

Orton could conceivably RKO the champ at a moment's notice and cash-in. Could make for some great teases. Maybe he ultimately cashes in on Cena or Bryan and finally turns heel again in the process.
