1 - Daniel Bryan v. Christian opens the show. Bryan wins when Christian taps to the Yes Lock

* Backstage segment where Teddy Long gives Dolph Ziggler the night off. Ziggler tells Teddy he's looking at the next World Heavyweight Champion.

2 - Jey Uso v. Seth Rollins is up next. Rollins gets the win after a knee to the back of the head. The Shield celebrates on the announcers table.

3 - Chris Jericho v. Curtis Axel ends with Jericho winning by count out after hitting a Codebreaker on the ropes. Curtis Axel goes crazy after the match and tears up the announce table. Paul Heyman tries to calm him down.

4 - Ryback v. The Miz is up next. Ryback fakes a knee injury before hitting the Meathook clothesline on Miz for the win.

* Teddy Long comes out for a contract signing. He's got Cameron, Naomi, Aksana, Layla, Alicia Fox and Natalya with him. Big E Langston is out first with AJ Lee followed by Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn and AJ talk trash to each other but sign the contract. AJ reveals texts from Kaitlyn talking trash about Natalya and The Great Khali. A catfight breaks out. Kaitlyn slaps Big E and spears AJ. This was described as a very good segment with lots of pandemonium.

5 - Fandango v. Wade Barrett is next. Zeb Colter is on commentary and has Cesaro and Swagger with him. Fandango wins with a quick roll-up. Cesaro and Swagger argue with Sandow and Rhodes at ringside.

* Promo with The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt shows footage and talks about how they destroyed Kane on RAW.

6 - Alberto Del Rio v. Sin Cara is up next. The match never starts because Dolph Ziggler, dressed as Sin Cara, attacks Del Rio and beats him up.

* Vickie Guerrero comes out to boos. Teddy Long interrupts her and has security escort her out of the building. Fans sing goodbye to her on the way out. Vickie leaves through the crowd with security.

* Backstage segment with Teddy Long stopping Dolph Ziggler. Sin Cara appears and is wearing his wrestling gear, making it look like he was actually the one who attacked Del Rio.

7 - Sheamus v. Randy Orton ends in a DQ when Daniel Bryan interferes and kicks everyone's ass. Christian comes out and sets up a ladder in the middle of the ring. Christian and Sheamus brawl on the ladder. Orton hits a RKO on Bryan. Orton climbs the ladder and retrieves the briefcase. SmackDown goes off the air with Orton standing tall on top of the ladder. The look in his eyes was Mad Vicious.

The continual jobbing of Christian is obviously putting him in position to win MitB. Follows through with the "job a guy out, have him win MitB, job him out, have him win the title, and then job him out some more" formula which has been used to wide success in the past.

Btw,

The ideal way to take in the Smackdown Spoilers this week is to hit play on Linda's theme AND THEN start reading.

If that was the ideal way, you'd have put the video above the spoilers.

Really looking forward to Daniel Bryan vs. Christian. Actually, the whole show sounds pretty sweet.

Job him out and send him to NXT would be better

Imagine if the WWE made a MMPR stable, but with Sin Caras.

Barrett and Cesaro deserve so much more than being afterthoughts. For my money, Cesaro has the most impressive offense in wrestling right now. I have a bit of a problem getting to care about Christian, however. I don't know if he lost his fire since being injured, but I remember him bringing more fun and excitement into his matches.

Also, where is Dean Ambrose?

Likely his age starting to hit him?

Maybe. Probably. But what I mean is that he doesn't look like he wants to be there. He's still technically sound, but he doesn't look to me like he's having fun. But that's a very subjective thing.

Probably not having much fun because he gets zero opportunities to shine.

They need to call up Xaviar Woods and make this happen right now.

I love Christian and I think his work has been great. The WWE has just sent mixed signals with him over the years. He seems to be both labelled an "All-Star" main eventer for this Ladder Match and a guy that is feuding with Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship. Personally, as awesome as the matches would be, I don't really want to see Christian in a mid-card title program at this point. The time to do that was last year when he was Intercontinental Champion.

Also, his character has nothing that is particularly enjoyable about it as a babyface. Why are we meant to cheer this guy? Didn't he get Randy Orton to lose the World Heavyweight Title by spitting in his face? There needs to be some sort of wedding between the Christian who will do anything to be World Champion and this guy who is a dynamo in the ring.

I'd rather see Christian move onto a program with RVD after Money in the Bank -- maybe Christian can start doing the Frog Splash and their feud can be shades of RVD vs. Eddie Guerrero from years back (I think it was 2002 over the Intercontinental Title)?

Reminds me of that time they dressed Koko B. Ware as the Blue Blazer and he hit the El Kabong on someone, leading to Owen and Double J winning the tag titles.

I didn't say I remember it WELL, I just said I remembered it.

Been saying this for a while: Christian is awful as a face, but tremendous as a heel.

:y:

I find Christian extremely overrated, but he is still very good. Some guys just don't have that extra level of charisma that makes them legitimate main eventers. Christian is charismatic, but he is still nowhere near the charisma/electricity that a CM Punk, Cena, Lesnar, HHH, Undertaker, etc. have. Charisma isn't necessarily mic skills. It is a natural aura that attracts people to you. The truly great ones can be both heel or face because they exude something that makes people interested in you whether you are a good guy or bad guy. Christian has always been an upper midcarder/gate keeper main eventer at best.

Christian is awesome as a heel. Was hoping that when he won the belt for the second time back at MITB 2011 as a douchey heel that he'd get to hold the belt for a few months rather than Orton getting it right back again.

Pretty good Smackdown this week.

Bryan vs Christian and the Divas segment were great.
