View Full Version : Next contender for smackdown title

Once Judgement Day is over and I pray that Eddie is still champion and JBL goes back to the midcard where he belongs, who do you think will be think the next contender for the title? The most obvious candidate is Booker T but it looks that he is going to be squashed by the Undertaker so would it make sense for him to go from being squashed to a title shot. So if it isn't Booker then who is another candidate for a title shot. Seriously smackdown needs some new guys because I can't think of anyone who deserves a title shot as much as Booker but as I said before I don't see anything like that happening because of what will likely go down at JD.

Booker does deserve a shot at the belt, and yes I don't see him winning this Sunday at Judgment Day either, and it doesn't make sense for someone who's going to get squashed to have a title shot, but I wouldn't put it past them if this is the case. We never know Booker might win Sunday, and things will work out.

Whoever it is, PLEASE don't let it be Hardcore Holly.
Perhaps Big Show?

I probably would like to see an Eddie/Big Show feud again. One, because a win over the biggest guy in the business (and WWE just LOVES big guys) would cement Eddie as a legit champion. Second, Big Show can be fairly entertaining every once in a blue moon, and if anyone can play to his strengths and make it into a good match, it's Eddie. Third, after bringing up perennial lower-card losers like Holly and Bradshaw into the Title picture, it'd just be nice to see another quasi main eventer at the top of the card again.

If they don't do Eddie/Show (which would be odd, since we're overdue for our semi-annual Big Show Push), then definitely Booker T.

I Think it will be Booker T. I can see him winning this Sunday due to interference from Mordecai and then going on to face Eddie at the next PPV. And as mentioned If JBL does win I will be reverting back to my YOU SPEAK PURE ASS gimmick

Ditto. Book will win at Judgement Day

And I pray that JBL loses, and Booker is the next contender for the WWE title.

With the way the writing has been recently, it should be obvious to all of us who the next contender will be...

Just a thought, Taker Heel Turn, Taker vs Eddie

JBL vs someone else........ in Dark Matches........... in Syberia

Taker as a heel makes exactly ZERO sense.

I dont think they plan on going to Booker T next. Originally thats what I thought they would do, but after hearing where they are going with BT, I dont see him in any kind of main event.

As of right now, I think the plan is to come back with another JBL-Eddie match at Great American Bash. With the angle they shot last week and even this week on SD, I dont think the feud will end with just one match. My guess si that they either do a DQ (ala Unforgiven 02) or they give Eddie a win where he cheats, and then Bradshaw is given a rematch, maybe in a Street Fight or something like that.

After that, I hope they go to RVD. It makes sense to hold off on that feud until Summerslam, because then they can give RVD a few key victories and make him seem like a legit conteder once again.

As for Big Show, I think he's out for a couple of months recovering from surgery.

I really hope it's not another Guerrero/JBL match. Hopefully Vince will learn something after he realizes that Judgment Day became the lowest grossing PPV ever

anyways I'd like to see Booker T to eventually beat Eddie for the belt

I agree that BT vs Eddie should be next, but I dont think he should take the title. If he did that, if only proves what he was saying that "Samckdown is the minor leagues". The only way for the feud to make sense, and for SD to save face is for BT to lose. Plus, I just dont see the point of taking the title from Eddie at this point.

RVD could go for the title or else Booker T.

But it could also be UT that gets another title shot :nono: * Prays that it isn't going to happen *

Or maybe their will be somebody new that gets a shot at the title :-\ Charlie Haas?

I'd be so happy if Haas got a title shot. He's always been one of my top favorites for some reason.

I heard all that too and I know people say sh</>it like this all the time and never go through with it but if Bradshaw wins the WWE title, I'm NEVER watching WWE again. NEVER!

Then you have a lot on the line, more reason to cheer for Eddie.

You mean there is a chance he could win the title? Are you kidding me? That would be the biggest disgrace in WWF/E history.

They couldn't pay me to watch this PPV though. This is only going to be the second PPV in 17 years I'm not watching.

I wouldn't mind seeing Taker turn heel, or maybe Goldberg could come back to Smackers and say Eddie only won the title with his help, now he wants it. :shifty:

Booker is the most obvious and likely choice. He'll most likely go over the Undertaker at JD (due to Mordecai would make the most sense). This way Booker can face Eddie, and Taker gets Mordecai. Alienoid makes a good point, and if Goldberg would want to come back to television, that's his opportunity :p.

Yeah Mordecai will probably interfere and cost Taker the match. Not a bad move really if they wanna puff Booker up to main event again. Since I doubt 'Taker would job clean to him.

As far as the most likely next pick, I really don't know. Eddie and JBL have had plenty of time to build up to this match. And JBL has a lot of heat, which is pretty impressive, considering that this was no doubt some type of desperation move while creative fumbled around. Bradshaw has been with the company for quite a while now though and I can't recall him ever winning anything other than Tag Team and Hardcore gold.

He is obviously the contender for the title right now, since he is matching up against Eddie... But I'm not sure if the WWE would ever put the title on Bradshaw. Unless he continues to improve. That leads me to believe that the feud won't be a really long-time one, because Eddie would keep winning, and that'd get boring quickly (assuming they are not giving Bradshaw the belt.) And honestly, another reason I don't see it happening is because Eddie is on fire right now, he's really over, and his emotion is doing numbers for him. He looks to be strongly booked and continually pushed, and the best thing for that in my opinion is to feed him another guy.

Booker T is getting a sort-of heel push, he's an option, probably the likely one. I noticed that RVD and Eddie have made common enemies in The Dudleyz too, I could only hope for an RVD heel turn. He would rock that show as the top heel. And him and Eddie in a feud for the title would be beautiful. Book it similar to The Rock and Mankind's nice match-filled feud (maybe not so many title exchanges though) and you'd have gold.

RVD could be a heel and still remain strongly booked. He doesn't have to have that "pussy aura" that most heels adopt, where they seem inferior or fearful to/of their opponent. I think RVD going heel and putting on killer matches with Eddie in about equal strength would be awesome. I'm sure after time RVD's heel heat would wear off, because people love him, but that would be all right while they were putting on Five-Star matches, no pun intended.
