View Full Version : Smackdown SPOILERS - June 19th
* Teddy Long opens SmackDown and says Vince McMahon will be giving him a job evaluation later tonight. Teddy could become the permanent General Manager of SmackDown. Booker T's music hits and out he comes. Booker thanks Teddy but says he's keeping his job. Vince comes out and talks about the job. Teddy makes Chris Jericho vs. Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental Title and Booker makes Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton.
Brad Maddox comes out and says he's already booked those matches and has something even better - Rob Van Dam. Vince pulls a fast one and says Vickie Guerrero is the new SmackDown General Manager. Out she comes to huge heat. Vickie rips everyone for not supporting her before.
1 - Dolph Ziggler beat Jack Swagger with the Zig Zag. The referee sent Zeb Colter and Antonio Cesaro to the back after Cesaro interfered. Ziggler cut a promo after the match and said he should have dumped AJ Lee a long time ago.
* We see AJ and Big E Langston watching backstage. She flips out and attacks Big E. He calms her down and they hug. They go to kiss but Big E stops and kisses her on the forehead instead.
2 - The Usos vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns is up next. The match never starts as Dean Ambrose runs down. Mark Henry makes the save for The Usos and the crowd goes nuts for him. The Shield escape through the crowd.
3 - Daniel Bryan beat Wade Barrett by submission with the yes lock. Bryan was more over than a McDonalds in Pawtucket.
* MizTV with Paul Heyman. Heyman praises Brock Lesnar and tells CM Punk to just give up. Heyman threatens another attack from Lesnar. The Miz cracks jokes to end the segment.
4 - Curtis Axel beat Chris Jericho with his finisher. After the match, Ryback came out and nailed Jericho with the Meathook and Shellshocked.
* Damien Sandow comes out and talks about Cody Rhodes attacking him on RAW. He says they're still best friends and tag team partners, and calls Cody out. Sandow offers to forgive Cody and let him be the guardian of his Money in the Bank briefcase. Cody attacks Sandow but Sandow escapes and heads to the back.
5 - Rob Van Dam beat Darren Young with a modified costanza.
* Vickie Guerrero has security escort Teddy Long out of the arena. Not sure why she waited until the end of the show to do this.
* It's announced Big Show will be returning to RAW on Monday
6 - Randy Orton defeated Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. Orton won clean with a RKO. SmackDown ends with Orton celebrating in the ring.

Alberto was leaving from our side and we were all chanting "Si! Si! Si!" and he was like "fuck ya'll".
Rob Van Dam was high-fiving kids and towards the end jumped on Lilian Garcia from behind and scared the living daylights out of her.

Fuck, I miss Kofi Kingston. I love me some Kofi Kingston. They need to push him when he comes back and re-do the "Jericho Title Win that Wasn't" from 2000 with Kofi Kingston on an episode of RAW from MSG or something.

Hey guys, a little info from my "Nobody Cares" Department...
Last night, being in the front row and across from the hard camera at Smackdown, was one of the best nights of my life - at least that I can recall. I NEVER expected VKM himself to be there!
When The Miz came down the aisle, he pointed to my sign - "The Miz is Awesome" - and said, "Good job." I gave him the thumbs up.
Btw, when I went to meet them yesterday, some of them stopped to sign autographs, some of them just waved from a distance, and some of them ignored the fans completely - not even looking at us. Ryback, Christian, RVD and Daniel Bryan were among that elite group. The Miz and Cody Rhodes were by far the nicest two, and made time for each and every person who was there. My marker even ran out of ink as Cody was signing my book for me, and thankfully, a guy next to me let me use his. I apologized to Cody. He and The Miz were nothing but gracious.
Then, get this, before the show, I got an autographed photo with WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund. For those who don't know, there's a new thing at the events, where you can meet and have your photo taken with one of the legends. It was only $30. Backland even put me in his finishing move and we had about a five minute conversation. He's a great guy. I said to him, "I'm glad you're in the Hall of Fame. You deserve it." He said to me, "Well, I'll you what. I'd rather be out there (in the ring), and pretty soon, you fans are gonna have an opportunity to say whether or not you want to see me." I don't know what he meant, but stay tuned.
So yeah, there's a little more info about the show. I've been going to the matches for 30 years, and this was my first time in the front row. It was a night I won't soon forget.
Oh, one more thing. People who say "it's fake" need to get themselves a front row seat. Some of the moves I saw looked very, very real.

This was my first television show and I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. Also, wasn't expecting the pyro to be so loud. I didn't meet any wrestlers, but I got the opportunity to hi-five Rob Van Dam during the closing of the show.

It's hard to buy him as a face, since he just attacked John Cena, but it's hard not to cheer for him when he's going after the Shield.

If they just let Henry be the same, but fighting heels, he'll be all right.
The spoilers make the show look decent, but I'm really, really tired of Vickie. I can't stand her voice. She's just irritating. I know she gets a lot of heat, but dammit, I can't stand her.

Going to be at RAW this Monday, never stayed after the show, is it worth it? Never thought that anything would go down afterwards like booths or anything, always wanted to beat traffic.

I went to a supershow years ago and hung out in the back afterward and saw the guys leaving. Some of them stopped to hang out. Rey signed some autographs. Eddie Guerrero flipped off the crowd. Not much of note.

If that's the case, just have him download the WWE App. It's the new way to watch (and interact) with television.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's a face again.
Even though it does look like we'll see a six-man tag match at SummerSlam, I would love it if we got The Usos/Rollins & Reigns for the tag titles and Henry/Ambrose for the US title at SummerSlam.
The six-man tag match could happen the Raw/SmackDown before SummerSlam.

I don't want him on that piss at his first RAW, I have my interactive limits when it comes to soaking it in live

Really enjoyed this week's show. I didn't read the spoilers heading into it, so the Vickie stuff was a surprise to me. I wonder what they are going to do with Booker T now? Maybe he can become the Main Event commentator or something? I'd actually like to see Booker try his hand at managing some babyface stars. Booker as a voice for Justin Gabriel could be pretty good for the guy.
I've got no clue where they are going to go with Teddy Long, either. Could we be in an age where the role of the manager returns? Teddy could be an interesting choice to lead some guys against some guys led by Booker T. Is Teddy going to go back to thuggin' and buggin'?
Vickie did a good job in her role as a bitch getting back at those who have fucked her over in the past. I'd like to see a William Regal type try to butter her up for preferential treatment however.
