Just got a new 360, so I'm all set for a couple of years unless a next-gen game (like Mass Effect 4) forces me to upgrade.

I'd also add that launch periods are often shaky and the second year is when things come together nice. No reason for me to get either X1 or PS4 first year.

Still seems way overpriced even with new announced changes. I honestly don't think, especially in this economy that you're going to see many people pay $500 for it.

I have a Wii U and access to the new Nintendo stuff so I am satisfied.
Xbox One is something I'll very likely never purchase. Mainly because of the required Kinect thing. Unless that's been changed and it no longer needs Kinect to work. Although, there are all these other problems. "You can't do this, you can't do that. If you want A you have to accept B and C, first" etc. Just give me a more powerful console on which I can play games that I purchessed as often as I like, internet or no internet. It's that so hard for them to do? I know they ended the "always on" thing but didn't they say it had to be done every 48 hours or something. It wasn't gone completely, just tweaked? I don't know, I stopped listened after the original announcement. [post ended to stop overblown and ill informed ranting]

Like what, all that's left is the Kinect bullshit really. They dropped all the other restrictions. There is no check in aside from the first day.

I'm a Nintendo gamer at heart and, as long as I have the latest Nintendo stuff, I'm happy. Anything else like Xbox is just a happy extra to pick up what Nintendo don't have. GTA, Street Fighter etc.

No, you can install it just like an Xbox 360 game. You have to have the disc in tray just like an Xbox 360 game.

Are they planning on adding games like Arkham Origins and GTA 5 to the platform at a later date or are those titles going to be left solely on the 360?

But, seriously, the reveal just wrecked it for me so I've not been paying attention to what they have and haven't changed.

Unless Street Fighter 5 of GTA 6 being exclusive or something equally as huge happens, I'm not going to be interested in XB1. I've wanted Killer Instinct 3 since KI Gold was released on the N64 and even that announcement was not enough to regain my attention.

A really big issue for me is Kinect being needed. If I could use the console fully without it, I'd maybe consider it in the future if the price and games were right and if that 24 hour internet required thing stays away.

Perhaps you should, because... well... the last few of your posts. Even KK who's super skeptical about X1 was taken back by your dated issues.

If you're not interested that's perfectly fine, most of us will wait it out, I think. I dislike the Kinect myself but I do need to play some Halo in the future.

Read the "everything you need to know" article Kotaku put up today. If it wasn't for the Kinect, I'd maybe not have as big an issue now. I really don't like the idea of needing a camera. Paranoid, I know but I just don't like it.

I'm also thinking they'll revert back to the original plans once they have sold a few million units.

People feeling paranoid about being watched should dump their phones, delete their emails, and basically go off the grid because they are already, even now collected as stats.

I don't think there's much reason for footage to be uploaded like that. Most likely it will track you locally to put up a soda ad when you're eating chips.

Gonna wait about 6 months to get one...if I get the One over the PS4. I think the playing field has leveled out with the removal of DRM and now the GI article stating the One will allow indie self-publishing.

I'm stoked at this news. All three consoles have decent indy programs it seems. Exposure would still be a concern but I like what I hear.

I mostly have no real use for it. I play in a room too small for the standard person to use the first Kinect, and I'm 6'5" so I need a longer room. I normally play with music playing unless I'm specifically playing online with friends. IF I want to video chat, I have a cheap webcam I can plug in, but I don't usually want to video chat.

I'm basically not going to use it for gaming, for the bonus features, for anything. and if it's half the cost of the unit (such is the claim now), that's even worse in my opinion.

I don't get the paranoia in the era we're in, considering how many devices have cameras, mics or both. I just have limited interest in a device that pushes functions I don't want or need.

Pretty sure this is just an outcropping of the XNA program (which is being updated into something else for the Bone). While it's still cool, I doubt you can program your own games. (edit) Without some tech savvy, that is. Obviously you can program your own games if you know what you're doing.

I'm glad consoles are backtracking on shutting out the indies, though.

Namely Microsoft, since both the Wii and PS3 evidently became much more indie friendly over the last couple.
