There was a scary moment at today’s WWE live event in Cape Town, Africa as both Randy Orton and Big E Langston were attacked by a fan, according to multiple eye-witnesses via Twitter.

“Fan just attacked @RandyOrton and @BigELangston after their match! Wtf! #WWECapeTown#WWECapeTown (night 1) @WWE,” wrote a Twitter user by the name of Richard Kruse.

According to at least three more accounts, the fan struck Orton in his groin.
“Someone from the crowd just hit in the nuts @RandyOrton #WWECapeTown,” wrote one user.


My condolences to Randy's testicles.

This fan needs to learn some ring etiquette.

WWE.com has learned that Randy Orton was violently attacked by an audience member during a SmackDown World Tour Live Event in Cape Town, South Africa, this evening. Footage of the attack was captured by a WWE fan and posted to YouTube, and shows the perpetrator striking Orton from behind. The matter is currently under investigation by the local authorities, and the South African fan is being held in jail pending criminal charges. The extent of Orton's injuries are unknown at this time.

It is odd that they mention "the extent of his injuries" even though he seemed fine.

And it happened in Cape Town, South Africa? Hmm. Isn't Cape Town's own Justin Gabriel the one who injured Ryback's leg weeks ago? The werewolf is on a main eventer rampage!

3. Failing the referee kicking the fan's ass, are WWE workers THAT soft? If that moron attempted that to William Regal or Finlay, the ref whipping his ass would have been the BEST case scenario for him. A fan stabbed Harley one time, and he ate the legendary left hand. Readers have sent word that the man who "attacked" Randy Orton during last night's WWE Live Event at the Gran West Arena, was a local South African wrestler that goes by the ring name, The Blacksmith.

Prior to the incident, Blacksmith was posing for photos with fans who recognized him. Fan reports suggest that security opened up a window for him, so that he could make his way into the ring to make his attack on 'The Viper'.

Fans in attendance that witnessed the incident felt the Blacksmith was a plant. Here is a closeup photo of Blacksmith:

Local fan kicked in the head by WWE wrestler

An over eager fan was met with a boot to the head from WWE wrestler Randy Orton in Cape Town yesterday after he jumped into the ring and hit Orton in the groin.

Local wrestling fan Tshepo Sekhabi, who quit his job in Johannesburg to attend the event, left yesterday night's WWE world tour in Cape Town with a black eye and swollen face after getting kicked just under the eye by Orton.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is currently performing events across South Africa as part of its World Tour.

Sekhabi (20) scaled the security barrier and easily evaded the events security guards to enter the ring where Orton was celebrating a victory against fellow wrestler Big E Langston

Sekhabi had time to pause and size up Orton, who was standing on the rings corner ropes, before executing a shocking blow to the wrestlers groin.

Orton fell to the canvas following the hit as security rushed in to apprehend the assailant. Security managed to haul Sekhabi out of the ring, but not before the ‘Apex Predator’ managed to cross the ring and deliver a solid kick to his attackers head.

An equally irate Langston, real name Ettore Ewen, also had to be restrained by security from accosting Sekhabi outside of the ring.

Sekhabi was escorted to the casino’s security offices where he was issued with a five-year ban notice.

In the offices Sekhabi, who said he doesn’t drink or take any drugs, eagerly posed for photos and willingly gave a statement to security personnel.

Calling himself “Jozi, the wrestling machine” Sekhabi said he planned the attack before he arrived said “I just don’t like Randy Orton, this was an opportunity for me so I got up there and made a name for myself.”

Sekhabi said he quit his job as an admin clerk in Johannesburg where he trains in kickboxing with his uncle in Elsburg near Germiston.

Speaking after the incident, a senior member of WWE’s international relations team said it was unlikely the organisation was going to press charges.

“Fans get over-excited, and these kind of things happen – it’s not the first time and I doubt it will be the last,” said the staff member.

The employee said the WWE would release a full statement about whether further action will taken or if Orton will issue and apology.

On its website the WWE said it did not know "the extent of Orton's injuries" adding that "the matter is currently under investigation by the local authorities, and the South African fan is being held in jail pending criminal charges."

An assistant investigation manager from the casino said Sekhabi was not be formally arrested, but was booked out of his room in the casino and told to leave the premises.

Sekhabi said he did not plan to press charges against Orton or the WWE.

WWE responds to Orton’s groin injury after fan attack.

CAPE TOWN - 20-year-old Tshepo Sekhabi, who calls himself “Jozi, the wrestling machine,” quit his job to attend a WWE event at Cape Town’s Grand West Casino, in the hope of making it big and becoming a wrestling star.

After the event however, the fan, who'd travelled from Johannesburg, was left only with a black eye, a banning notice from the venue, and a potential criminal charge suit.

This is all down to his stunt attempt in the ring.

Sekhabi scrambled into the ring and struck wrestler Randy Orton in the groin in an unprovoked attack.

Orton was celebrating his victory over Big E Langston when Sekhabi managed to elude security guards, and attack Orton.

After recovering from the assault, Orton managed to cross the ring and kick Sekhabi in the head before he was taken away by security.

A WWE spokesperson has told eNCA.com that Orton is now “considering pressing charges” against Sekhabi.

Asked whether Orton plans to apologise for kicking Sekhabi, the spokesperson said “Randy Orton was the victim in this incident and suffered an injured groin.”

The WWE could not provide details on the extent of Orton’s injuries.

When asked why he did it, Sekhabi said he’d planned it in advance, noting, “I just don’t like Randy Orton, this was an opportunity for me so I got up there and made a name for myself.”

The article notes that while Sekhabi wasn’t formally arrested, he was banned for five years from the resort where the show was being hold and was thrown out of the resort’s hotel, which he was staying at.
