Do you think the Ryback bullying segments are a good way to promote the Be a Star program, and do you think it will get him any serious heat? The one where he put the guy through the table was very cool, though.

It's like an 80s high school bully character, except there's no Hulk Hogan-type to take him down. Infact, there isn't anyone else really involved. Ryback is in a feud by himself. What the fuck, WWE.

I vaguely remember him doing the same thing in Nexus, picking fights with the boom operator and so on. It came off just as awful then. If you're going to have him beating up random people nobody cares about, there's a whole locker room full of guys who fit the bill and could make the segments a bit interesting at least.

Hope it leads to debuting somebody from NXT that stands up to bully ryback and actually gets that person over

They're gonna build him up as a bully until Cena returns to beat him again.

Exactly. Ryback already established he beats people up in catering. It fits.

THE RYBACK should join the Cobra Kai

Seeing the word "Cobra" in this thread made me think of this:

WHAT IF?

The payoff to this story is the return of Santino Marella, who sets aside his comedy and goes all Billy Badass on Ryback?

Ryback would end up winning the feud after eating a healthy dose of humble pie and learning how to BE A STAR. He'd still be a heel, but in other ways instead of destroying catering and the toilets.

What if Kofi remembers that Ryback is the guy who "put him on the shelf" by putting him through three tables and finally decides to get his revenge?

I know most people hate it, but I think the gimmick isn't too bad. I mean... its stupid, but they are fairly short segments and when someone finally stands up to him, it will be somewhat interesting. Maybe.

Maybe the payoff here will be someone turns him into the old Ryback, a nice friendly guy who wants to eat more.

I'm pretty sure the idea is to build him up as a bully picking on weak guys and then have someone stand up for them. It's simple but I like it. It could in theory be a great way to put a face over.

On a tangent, is Ryback injured, and this is what they're doing to keep him on TV while he recovers?

I dont like the segmets. But I LOVE that he wears a Leather Vest with his name on it.

The WWE is severely lacking personalized leather.

Im going to order a Hanso leather Vest

Hope he is the one to finally stand up to him... either him or Darren Young.

I sincerely hope that's the payoff to the feud.

First they need to get Snickers to sponsor a PPV, so it all ties in.

They're building to a Ryback vs Nameless Catering Guy feud for WM XXX, obviously.

Think about it: It's brilliant. How can people FEED HIM MORE if he has heat with Nameless Catering Guy?!

He could have been the next megastar WWE has been looking for for years right out of the gate. I don't fault them for moving him straight into a feud with Punk with no intentions of taking the title off of Punk. Cena was injured and they had to do something major. The finish to the match was perfect, even. Kept him looking strong in defeat. After that though, they fucked him up SO bad.

Oh he's been mismanged worse than anybody I can remember. I am enjoying his bully character. He was hilarious at the show house I went to last night.

Yeah, his bully character gets shit on too much. There's nothing really wrong with it. He's gonna be a douche to weaker guys and the some face is gonna step up and look like a fucking superhero when they put him in his place. He just could have been so much more.

Lol crack up when he refers to himself as "the big guy"

Mr. Nerfect
09-09-2013, 04:33 AM
I'm enjoying "The Big Guy." They didn't really know where heel Ryback was going for a while, and they kind of made him a chickenshit for no reason, but then he looked interesting against Chris Jericho (in the match, not so much the lead-up). Now he's found what he's doing and it's sort of working.

I could see Sami Zayn being the guy that eventually stands up to him. Ryback would win all their matches, but Zayn would get to look like a cool guy against Ryback and win over the admiration of the fans.

I didn't like the character for a good while, mostly during the Cena feud. It simply wasn't developd enough. Now he is just out there hamming it up and having fun with it. He's enjoying do what he's doing and it shows. I'm a fan of the turn it has taken, BA* be damned.
