I managed to get a few songs and download the full album from suprnova, but it's like one big file, the songs aren't placed individually in a file. So, I didn't know which song was which, seeing as how there are no lyrics yet.

Anyway, besides Pulse of the Maggots, Welcome and Duality(all awesome tracks), I heard Circle, which is actually an acoustic song. :wtf: And Danger, keep Away, which is another acoustic song :| and Vermillion pt. 2 which is yet another acoustic, but it's pretty awesome. It's like Parabol/Parabola from Tool. Same lyrics, only one is slow soft and the other one (part 1) is fast paced and stuff.

Now, I'm not sure which song this was, but it was right after Prelude 3.0 (pretty cool song, btw), so I'll go ahead and surmise it's the Blister Exists. One of the sickest songs Slipknot have put out. Joey's drumming is ejaculateable. I love the army-like drumming solo.

Three Nil is another sick song. Reminds me of their first album.

The Virus of Life reminds me of White Zombie's Blood, Milk and Sky. Cool.

I'm sure I heard the other songs too, but like I said, the file was just one big 50 minute like file with no titles, so I couldn't know all the songs.

Well, here's the breakdown. My opinion is that they did what they set out to do. And all the crossings between Ministry and whatnot was accomplished. Slipknot will lose alot of fans with this, but win many others.
This isn't like the old Slipknot, but still an amazing album.

i've only heard a few songs. But I just saw them live two nights in a row and I've officially labeled them as one of my favorite live bands.

I went ahead and listened to the new album myself. I like it. COMPLETELY different Slipknot from the other albums.. cause they actually utilize a lot of their creativity and skill. Lots of acoustic guitar and lead guitar, much more technical than what they are use to doing. There is definately a lot of material that non-Slipknot fans will like... in a way.. you could say that some songs are what Stone Sour would sound like with the versatility of a nine-piece band.

My personal fav songs at the moment are Three Nil and Opium Of The People. But I think that has a lot to do with seeing a shitload of their heavy material live the last two days. :o

Soon as I heard Duality I thought Stone Sour. Really weird. I haven't listened to it all yet but I like what I've heard...like Joel said very, very different from their past stuff. Hope it isn't the last though :-\

I actually went ahead and downloaded it for no particular reason. It's definately a bit different to their older stuff (most of which I hated, for the record), and although I wouldn't say I particularly liked it as a whole, it's got a few decent tracks. Interesting to see how the media and Joe Slipknotfan react to it...

Yeah, I was right about The Blister Exists. That song is the ****ing man.

It does sound kinda like Stone Sour, but it's probably because we all heard the other side of Corey. While before, in the old Slipknot days all he did was scream, this time around, he's calmer. But what I think distinguishes the new Sipknot from Stone Sour is the sick drumming.

*bumping old thread*

The album is pretty good once you shake off the fact that it doesn't sound much like Slipknot. I like Duality, Opium of the People, Before I Forget, and The Nameless. The rest is good too, those are just the ones I listen to more frequently.

It's good music, but I still prefer the older stuff.

Slipknot fucking suck.

Theres like 3 levels of ass.

Level 1 is like band you don't like, but you know they're talented. Slipknot do not fit here.

There is level 2, which are bands that are so BAD they're awesome. Like Journey or Bon Jovi.

Then there is level 3. This is bands thats absolutely suck giant sweaty dick and have absolutely no talent.

Slipknot is level 3 ass.

And we all know that a single is always 100% representative of the rest of an album...

Only when dealing with Linkin Park..

And yes, I've listened to it.

As I said in the other thread (Admittedly, made after this one, but it was up topfor longer), it's a very middle of the road album. Nothing much really stands out. It's incredibly bland, boring, standard, run-of-the-mill shit.

Ironically, I've still got it for share on Soulseek. I figger the more people here it, the more might not get screwed out of their money... :D

Or Slipknot.

There really isn't much difference between the 2 bands anyways.

Sure there is.

Linkin Park are a moderately talented band geared to cash in on teen angst through middle-of the road songs, the same tunes 18 times, and thousands fo remixes.

Slipknot doesn't really have the chops for that, so they scream and cash in on teen agnst by being as violent as possible. It's kinda like 80s skinhead punk...The thought was that loud and talentless=cool.

So they're both money grubbing, shitty ass, pretend metal crapfactories that try to trick dumb, suicidal kids into buying their music. GOTCHYA.

If only they could get more of their fans to commit suicide. :D
