View Full Version : Has workrate ever brought you to tears?

Have you ever watched a really great match between artist combatants that has been so full of honor and rassle that it made you cry? I don't cry ever b/c I am a real American (USA #1) but I'm sure some of you here do. I think if a match would move me, the workrate coefficient would have to be at least 45.55%. Agree? Good.

Any match featuring Bobby Jaggers

After watching Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue vs. Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi back in 93 I nearly killed myself. Life could never be as sweet as those moments.
Since that day food hasnt tasted the same. I can find no more beauty in the world. Every day has been just another revolution on this mortal coil. Another day trudging away from that perfect moment, and towards the sweet embrace of death.

If Bobby Jaggers had ever rassled in an ERAG match that would have been truly moving.

I remember tearing up a little at the end of HBK/Ric Flair from Wrestlemania 24. I think it was just more the end of a career I'd seen all through my childhood than the workrate, though.

One of my favorite matches ever, but there was negative work rate going on in that match. Was all emotion/Storytelling, which ROH will never have.

I was at Rasslemania 24 in Orlando and that was a very emotional match. 7/10

Tatanka during his undefeated streak, I wouldn't use the bathroom until he tomahawked someone and then I'd spill milk on my pants and try to run out in traffic if he looked to be losing

Not for the actual work rate itself but felt emotional after several big moments such as Flair's and HBK's retirement matches and the ending to Mania 20 for recent stuff.

Please limit conversation in this thread to workrate and only workrate related tears. Thank you.

I think Kane's workrate is heavily underrated. That brings me to tears.
Guy went on an absolute fucking tear in 2010 as World Heavyweight Champion.

I am not ashamed in the slightest to admit that I cried during Paul London vs. Akio.
Why do you even make threads like this? Seriously, you and Gertner are the only ones who ever bring up the word workrate and then you giggle about it and say to yourselves, "nailed it!"
I mean, if workrate is all anyone talked about, I could see making a thread to poke fun at it, but it seems odd to just bring it up just to make yourself giggle because you have nothing better to do.

It didn't make me cry, but the Benoit/Jericho/Angle match at WrestleMania 2000 was pretty awesome.
I do well up when I think of Mick Foley though and his super sick hardcore matches.
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!

I remember when "Johnny Polo" used to talk about how awesome Reno Riggins was, and his devastating "Reno-plex" that he never hit on anyone in the history of ever.

Yeah, it has a burrito. From now on if we make a post that Juan may not like include a picture of a burrito, taco or chimichanga and he'll like it.

That's probably true, I guarantee it was cooked by Mexicans and the plate will be washed by Mexicans.
