View Full Version : Why You Like Wrestling?

If you break down wrestling into it's simplest form wrestling is broken down into two catagories.... Wrestling matches & Storylines...

If you were to believe that Wrestling matches & Storylines makes up 100% of all of the wrestling industry, which do you find more important, and what percentage would you give to each part of wrestling....

For example to me wrestling goes like this:

30% of my intrest goes into actual wrestling matches

where as 70% of my intest goes into the storylines...

Basically what I'd like to know is how does it break down with all of you?

If there was a topic like this up the other day I'm sorry I started this thread... Just show me where the old topic was and then the mods can delete this. I've been patroling the boards pretty regular the past few days and I haven't seen it. Maybe I just passed it by...

Nah it's alright. I did a topic very similar to this a couple of days ago that had a poll.

Call it a cop out if you want. But without the sports aspect, it's just a soap opera. Without the entertainment aspect, it's at best something like shoot fighting, or at worst another phony "sport."

Both are important to the end result product.

We're all aware that you need both, I'm just asking what you like more. If it's too close to call then just say 50-50. Don't tell us what we already know.

I don't either.

Now, is it actually necessary to explain that it's possible to have an opinion that does not break down into an easy formula of percentages?

Just because people call you on your foibles doesn't mean you have to call them stupid.

I was asking a simple questions and I wanted a simple answer. You always find the need to give answers to questions no one asked or give a answer that is on the fence.

I just wanted a simple percentage answer from anyone that wanted to give it. If you didn't want to give a percentage answer the why even post on this thread? Do you have an outstanding need to make others feel as though there questions, answers, and opinions are worthless?

The question was not simple, only the idiot who asked it.

The question, why do you watch wrestling, how you break it down, doesn't automatically mean a simple answer. If you can't handle that, you really need to get off the internet before people shallening your simple notions makes your thick skull explode.

Personally for the TV shows, the storylines keep me interested. I can survive on like one *** match a month w/o really complaining.

But come PPV time, it's all about the wrestling. If they suck, I don't give a rat's ass how many run-in, swerves, debuts, etc. there are.

You got a knack for calling people stupid and then talking around your reasons why you say the nonsense you do. Perhaps your talking in circles works with others, but not with me. Your a smart guy, you just have a bad habit of trying too hard to sound smart. Your smart, you don't have to try so hard. However, if you don't think you can break answers down into a simple form, then your not all that bright anyway.

Also, you have this notion that I'm angry, and you seem to think that when people crap on my idea that I take it to heart. I really don't I'm quite calm. The only reason I continue to get some of these notions through to you is I respect you, and I really do think your a smart guy. Your probably smarter then me. However, you have a lot to learn about being civil.

60 wrestling and 40 storyline... I enjoy the wrestling aspect alot, if it's a great match, or a few great matches, but a shitty storyline, IMO, the matches can save the whole storyline... Storylines are important though, for obvious reasons...

Unless I missed something, 49.9 + 50.1 = 100.

OK, I'll be honest, I read it as 51.1%, but 49.9999 (however many there were)% + 50.1111 (however many there were)%, will still make 100.1111 (however many there'll be)%

It's 100.1111 (etc) the way he put it.
If it was put 49.9999999999999999999999 + 50.0000000000000000000001
that'd be 100.

So what's 50 + 50.1111111 then?

Surely it can't be the same as 49.9999999 + 50.1111111 because the 49.9999999 has gone up 1?

Full = empty is pretty easy.

You got a pint glass, that's half full, so it's half empty too, so it can be said that:
1/2 full = 1/2 empty
Multiply both sides by 2, and you get
full = empty

crap innit
(by the way, it's not true because full and empty aren't maths terms, so doesn't count)

Sorry to go majorly off topic too :$

I watch the WWE for entertainment. The only fed I liked the actual wrestling more then the promos was ECW....and UFC, but that's real so that doesn't really count. ;)

Course, I am a fan of the violent wrestling and the matches where wrestlers blade....mat wrestling is boring and high flying wrestling is only cool if you se it live.

I tell ya, Anti-WWE people say the WWE are too crazy at times, but I don't think it's sick enough....

In 1998, it was my dream that ECW, Jerry Springer, and Howard Stern would all start airing on HBO so we can finally get some good stuff. :y:

To me wrestling isn’t just a matter of fights and story lines. It’s a matter of growing up. Following some fresh faced dude named Bret through the years… Being part of a trend called Hulkamania… seeing some blue blood use a double under hook face buster go from a dude who jobbed to a hog farmer to one of the best wrestlers behind a microphone. I can honestly say I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember.
It’s staying up late at night with rented PPVs from the local video store watching WMIV with my two older brothers, and not seeing the final match until a few months ago when I rented it again. It’s marking out at parties with friends when someone ordered a PPV. Yet, much like life, it’s not all happy memories…
As awesome as it is to see people accomplish their dreams, it’s even more humbling to see someone’s end. I got choked up when Droz got powerbombed by D-Lo, and I still miss Owen Hart. Watching “Beyond The Matt” and seeing Jake Roberts… Jake “The Snake” Roberts… The Jesus Christ of Ring Psychology down a downward spiral to hell! Koko B. Ware still wants some spotlight… Hearing how Bobby Heanan was, and hearing him now… Seeing Randy Orton behind the mic and not seeing Kurt Angle wrestle… painful….
I like wresting because it’s what I grew up on. Right after Saturday Morning cartoons wrestling was on the USA Network, there was a point in my life where I didn’t miss Raw for a solid two years, and today, even though I can’t watch it as much with my schedule, I still keep up whenever I can.
I like wrestling because it turned from a program to part of my own history. Was it the storyline? Was it the wrestling? Was it the larger than life personas? To this very day the only thing I know is the wrestler who got me hooked (Randy Savage) is now a part retarded rapper. Well, if I had to say it was one thing… I’d shut up because I believe it’s a combo of everything. It’s not one thing.
