View Full Version : Anybody else think one of these days at the HOF ceremony that a inductee is gonna cut a promo on Vince?

Lol it's a weird thought, but it's pro wrestling and it wouldn't surprise me if a guy like Warrior, or last year if Backlund or Bruno went up there and just shit on the WWE and McMahon.

Could see it being someone 'lower down' trying to generate an angle. Or Flair after a few drinks.

Lol not a worked promo, but like a "you gave everybody steroids, it's your fault Owen's dead, you've ruined wrestling with "sports entertainment"

whiteyford

I don't think it would even have to be worked to get turned into an angle, I think Vince is smart enough to make it one to deflect what was said.

Cornette for sure though.

Warrior is 50/50

Bad News Gertner

Backlund is crazy enough to do it, and Bruno hates Vince Jr so it wouldn't have surprised me if either of them did it.

If they ever induct Owen or the Hart Foundation I can see someone going off script there.

Austin should cut a promo on Vince whenever they decide to put Vince in, but it won't be anything like what you want.

This gave me the idea..they should do Roasts of legends on the network where they could pull the kind of stuff you're talking about "for laughs "

The WWE hates anything that portrays them remotely negatively.

Maybe CM Punk.

It's unfortunate Cornette will never go in. That would be amazing.

Cornette said he would go in if the Midnights were. Id be willing to bet if Jim were asked regardless that he'd say yes.

I highly doubt they would ask him though. He doesn't seem to have a good relationship with any of the higher ups in the company, has talked a ton of shit, left on bad terms and probably isn't viewed as important enough to try to mend fences with for an induction ala Bruno and the Warrior.

Bad News Gertner
01-20-2014, 04:48 AM
Seems to have a good relationship with Vince. Lol definitely not with Kevin Dunn, but neither does Paul Bearer and he's going in this year. Big John isn't really around anymore, so it's mainly Dunn.

Don't forget Laurinaitis. I guess most of my idea that he and Vince don't get along comes from Cornette's disdain for what Vince has done with wrestling over recent years. He's talked a lot of shit about Triple H directly though, too.

Also, HHH's BFF HBK.

I'm pretty sure Jim doesn't hate Vince, just doesn't like where wrestling has gone, but respects Vince as a businesman.

That's what I meant when I said "Big John", although I don't think he has as big a role with the company.

A lot of people have talked with about HHH. The company seems to be putting bad blood behind them lately.

Nah. And they'd pretty much be a giant idiot for doing it. And it would never make the broadcast.

Lol we're talking about pro wrestlers here. You have to have a bit of a screw loose to be a pro wrestler, especially back in the old days.

Wait...are you implying that some prowrestlers are in the habit of making bad decisions? Decisions that might be detrimental to their careers or even their lives?

I dunno, no more than your average profession. Certainly a lot more dickheads around given it's an ego driven business. Which would play into your theory. Just feel like guys that get put in are either already on good terms or are guys that are grateful to be placed back in the spotlight one more time. Daresay some even think it may propel them towards that vaunted "one last run". And they aren't going to jeopardize that. Besides, the HOF really seems to mean something to most of the guys that get put in.

Swiss Ultimate

Most for sure. I imagine the guy who sold his ring on ebay was an outlier, but yeah.

Honestly, now that I think Hart/McMahon was a work, it's really hard for me to see Vince as a bad guy and I wonder how many other people had a good working relationship that supposedly did not.

Except Jarrett, pretty sure they hate each other.

99% who are still active go back to the indies, and what would get you more work in the indies than to "stick it to McMahon".

I wouldn't put it past a wrestler to feel they are doing wrestling a service by pulling a fast one on Vince.

I'm not saying it couldn't happen, more it would just take a really special brand of dickhead. I'd say the guys most likely to do it are guys that don't stand a chance of getting near the HOF as is. And even most of those would soon change their tune once Vinnie Mac came calling. The guys that talk all the shit tend to be the ones that are bitter and never "made it" for one reason or another. Billy Jack Haynes for example isn't going into any kind of HOF any time soon.

Honky Tonk Man is one who I wouldn't be shocked. He's a grade A shithead, would probably should be in.

I was always kind of puzzled by Honky Tonk Man's friendship with Raven. I never recall them really working together, so it just always struck me as strange.

I know Backlund isn't wired like everyone else, but is there a reason people think he might have gone nuts on Vince? I've never heard of any heat there.

Specifically BECAUSE he isn't wired right and might have started saying shit Vince doesn't want said. As wrestling fans and internet junkies we know some of what has gone on backstage in the past but I would guess that is just the tip of the iceberg and a huge reveal would start a media circus

Can you answer the question as to why wrestling fans care so much about the Hall of Fame?

you're asking this on a message board dedicated to professional wrestling, where a "discussion" about the direction of a lower card guy's career can span pages

#1-norm-fan

Is it any different from NFL fans caring about the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Or music fans caring about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? It's a part of the business. If you care about the business, it's not that crazy to care about the Hall of Fame.

I just find it strange because it's not an independent body. It seems more recently they're ready to bill people as "WWE HALL OF FAMER", like, wow you were employed by a company for 20 years and they have given you an award, what an achievement. I mean it's fine, but I don't understand the concern about people getting in/not getting into the hall of fame.

Bad News Gertner

Why even care who wins or loses when you watch wrestling, since it's pre-determined? It's fun? People of course treat rasslin as serious business, but for most people it's just a cool nostalgia thing.

Yeah and the baseball HOF has such a massive amount of integrity... maybe we should start letting the dirt sheet writers decide who goes in the WWE HOF.
