View Full Version : STING signs with WWE (according to Rob Feinstein)

Rob Feinstein of RFVideo.com has posted the following on his Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/therealrobfeinstein?ref=ts&fref=ts): I was just informed Sting has signed a deal with WWE in the last 24 hours. I still think personally he will show up after Mania since it seems like Undertaker vs Brock is what they are aiming for. Reminds me when everyone thought Brock would debut in Miami but they waited for Raw.
This news comes about 24 hours after Anthony DiMoro of Sportsrant.com reported WWE and Sting reached some type of an agreement and PWInsider.com saying an decision could be made within two weeks.

PWInsider has confirmed reports that negotiations are ongoing between Sting and WWE. Word is that a decision must be made within the next 2 weeks on whether or not Sting is going to join the company.

Several factors are being worked out right now including scheduling and what Sting is and isn't willing to do creatively. This does not mean Sting is definitely coming to WWE and he could very well work another year with TNA but the impression has been given that Sting realizes if he's going to have a run with WWE, this is the time.

The impression was also given, within WWE, that there will not be a match against The Undertaker, at least at this year's WrestleMania event. However, the idea of Sting debuting at WrestleMania XXX with some kind of cameo or vignette has been discussed.

There's also a feeling that Sting is the face of WCW and with WWE promoting a lot of WCW content on the Network, he could be an asset there. Sting is considered a fresh, unique face when they are used to using people like Ric Flair and Diamond Dallas Page to promote their WCW projects.

While it was believed on Monday that no deal had been signed yet, RF Video's Rob Feinstein noted on Facebook this morning that he heard Sting signed a deal with WWE in the last 24 hours, for what it's worth.

I don't think Sting has been a good wrestler for a long time...

...the idea of a Sting-Taker match EVER happening makes me cringe.

Would prob watch if Sting was in WWE. Would still much prefer Sting vs Triple H than v Taker.

Is he still in shape? Last I saw him (like 4-5 years ago maybe?) he looked really good for his age. The paint probably covered most of that, but there seemed to be minimal flab and hair recession.

He's not very co-ordinated.

In a *weak* moment when I watched a TNA ppv he had like a real gingerly scorpion death lock on Magnus.

He kind of looked like he was going to take a squat and needed something to grab onto for support.

I would love to see Sting in the WWE and work mark out like a little kid. For you guys who think he looks "sloppy" or asking if he is "in shape," who cares? You just seen a "Bull" enter the Royal Rumble. The WWE would not let Sting get in the ring if he cannot handle it.

I want too see Taker vs Sting in an old fashioned wrestling match, instead of the no DQ crap Taker has been in the last couple years. Let the two tell a story, and perform to the best of their ability. Would defiantly have a chance to steal the show.

To be honest, I don't care if he can wrestle at all, as long as he looks the part. I'd likely only watch the promos and then the intro + last two minutes of any matches.

Would probably watch a DVD of his career though and him in a tag team match with Cena against like Bray Wyatt and HHH or something.

Keep him away from Lesnar tho.

Knowing WWE they would market Surfer Sting vs. Biker Taker for WM31.

The guy moves smoother than Batista was at the rumble. And Nash. And Nash is a known god. Really hope this is true, not going to hide my love for Sting.

Also, I don't believe we need Sting vs Taker. It would be a dream match, but I'd rather see him against..... Well I don't know.

I personally think Del Rio would make good Sting fodder for a 5-6 minute match at Mania. Then we use him through the year in cool ways leading to his challenge for the Streak at 31, where he gets tombstoned and retires.

To be fair, he's been wrestling in TNA in front of 200 people. Put him in front of 20,000 and I'll bet he'll bring the thunder.

Hell yeah he'd bring the thunder. Thunder in Paradise!

The suspense is killing me, I used to be a Sting fan. Still am at a distance.

He sounds like a guy that would rather hold a fork to his butthole and shred his poop on sight.

Makes you wonder what type of sick fucker we are going to get when he shows.

I just had the vision of them not wanting to put Bryan in a match with HHH so they'd be like..hey, we just signed Sting..

And I keep hoping he'll make a gif injury funnier than him destroying his quads by the simple act of walking.

Or Joker sting!

Or maybe he can "reinvent" himself again, and rip off a new movie character!

I think that debuting Sting on the RAW after WrestleMania would be pretty radical. I'd like to see him come in as Crow Sting originally, but they can evolve his look as he becomes more comfortable.

Tom Guycott
01-31-2014, 11:35 PM
Crow Sting would be awesome if only for the simple fact that they could pull the "Sting in the crowd disguised as Sting" bit again. It works everytime.

I had Sting do a Se7en style gimmick in a feud with HHH in Armchair Warfare. They might as well borrow that.
