View Full Version : Will the WWE Network kill the buyrate for Elimination Chamber?

So, the WWE Network launches the night after Elimination Chamber. On the Network, you can watch every WWE PPV ever. Presumably, that includes Elimination Chamber.

So, do you think people will realize this and just wait a day or two to watch Elimination Chamber "for free" as part of their Network subscription?

This pretty much dictates it- if EC is available the next day, then the buyrate will be horrible. WWE should clarify this.

Yes but think this will be a rare case of the WWE is willing to sacrifice buys for the short term if it means the Network starts off strong or gets to a million by Mania.

I'd be shocked if they really went into panic mode since the real test is how large the Network's userbase will be by Mania and the period after it.

Haven't they said not everything will be available all at once? It would be pretty stupid of them to have the EC available to watch right away at launch.

I thought I read the first "current" PPV available will be WrestleMania. Might have been on here rather than WWE, though.

WrestleMania will be the first one shown live. I think they'll have every PPV available for streaming when it kicks off though so the question is would Elimination Chamber just immediately be available just like the rest.

I never even gave that a thought but probably what Meatball said, if it hooks subscribers who realise it'll pay off for them.

What I'm really wondering is how they are going to work out payoffs for the wrestlers, for all these PPV's.

WWE is in a position where that doesn't matter. If the wrestlers don't like the reduced PPV payoffs, where are they going to go to make up that revenue?

Like I said, where will they make up big PPV paydays?

Not if people want to see DB win the title live. He is suppose to be the huge drawing factor. Maybe this is why he was not in the rumble.

Like I said, where will they make up big PPV paydays? How much of the $60 actually got into the hands of the WWE? They're not going to go into the WWE Network to lose money. It may lead to them reducing bonuses for big shows, but that's their wilful decision, not an inevitability.

Really WWE? Making it available in fucking Canada was just too difficult?

Hopefully DirecTV gives me a free replay just like the Rumble last night
