"Further Proof Of WWE's Lack Of Confidence In SmackDown!
By Richard Gray on May 16, 2004 at 5:31 PM EST
To further prove the confidence that WWE has in the SmackDown brand, local radio advertisements in the Las Vegas, Nevada market for the SmackDown tapings for Tuesday feature Steve Austin’s music accompanied by sound bits from The Rock, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Austin, and Shawn Michaels."
Most of the radio ads I've heard for live wrestling events were recorded by the venue's staff and not WWE... so wtf???

LMAO. That's really sad.

I've been enjoying Smack Down! alot lately. I believe that it has been better than RAW but the ratings show otherwise. But Smack Down! really needs something different than RAW. Sad thing is that they have something different (cruiserweights) but the creative/booking team in all thier wisdom does not let these guys ****ing fly. If the WWE let the cruiserweights fly like WCW let them do, then the ratings would be better.

ya Vince has always been obssessed with the big guys. At least the smaller guys (not Crusierweights) are getting opportunities to run with the ball (Guerrero, Benoit, Jericho, etc).
The Rock is still shown in the intro to Smackdown even though he's been on RAW for a couple years now.

Smackdown's a mixed bag for me. when they're good, they're great. When they're bad, meh.
Some smarter booking would really help.

Well the rule actually was that he was allowed to go on whichever show he felt like whenever he wanted, but whatever.

I guess I should have been a little clearer... but I wanna know if anyone else thinks it's unfair to consider a radio promo like that to be "proof of WWE's lack of confidence in Smackdown?"

He joined RAW in February of 03.
