View Full Version : Can you sit and watch wrestling anymore and just enjoy the show

Or do you always end up going back to criticizing storylines, getting pissed at lack of or who is getting pushed, or general IWC things that the IWC does.
I find that I just sit back and enjoy Smackdown more often than not because I know the spoilers and get my bitchfest out of the way beforehand (Ryback losing to Sheamus)

I enjoy the show when there are good storylines and the right people are being pushed as the main focus.
Same as any other TV show.

I enjoy NXT only because that's booked consistently and makes sense more often than not, Raw and Smackdown are just mediocre shows all too often even without armchair booking it.

Yeah, I guess. It's a weird question though. You're asking if you can just sit and enjoy it without judging it. Who watches a TV show or movie and DOESN'T judge it? Why is wrestling meant to be enjoyed regardless of whether it's shit? No other form of entertainment has that luxury. lol

It's like NXT (since the format change "revamp") has become what WWE used to be years ago. It's short, fun, and doesn't seem to try to serve too many masters. Everyone on the roster doesn't have to be on every episode of NXT, yet they still seem to get over. Rivalries can happen without a title in the balance. I don't have to have RAW recapped for me eight times to know what's going on.
In short, I watch NXT and hope someone actually catches that assessment, and the magic trickles upward to the main roster of WWE, and I don't just mean the good talent they're ready to give national exposure to.

Some things just aren't entertaining so I change the channel. Some things are and I watch them. No use complaining about it

Honestly, when I'm at the gym riding the bike and Smackdown is on, I just ride and enjoy it. It's very weird.

Used to be, I'd critique every little thing. Nowadays I'm a lot more lenient, and just kinda let things play out. If it ends up being great, super. If not, oh well. Not the end of the world.

I relate. I think because I know that nothing of importance is going to happen on Smackdown, I am able to just watch it without bitching about it. But during Raw, I get mad that the same thing seems to happen every week, when storylines are supposed to be developing.

There was no reason to spoil Smackdown in this thread, was there?
Anyway, if it's a good show, it's a good show.

If this account really were CM Punk, Gertner would have been spot on about him being a douche.

I've never been a smark, so no. My dislike for wrestling differs. For starters, I personally feel at age 31, I am too old to be watching WWE. Second, I feel wrestlers today have horrible skills. Finally, I loathe idol worship of any kind, and I refuse to be involved in anything that requires you to be a sheep.

Saying that today's wrestlers have no wrestling skills definitely shows that you haven't watched in a long time.

You idiots don't understand, It's all about "money, ratings, and entertainment". Vince killed Wrestling when he burned WCW and ECW.

It's enjoyable when it's written well and the guys (and divas on certain rare occasions) give their best and entertain the fans to the best of their potential.
