When all is said and done and he literally does have one more match

Will he go in?

and

Should he go in and why?

Hit me.

Wouldn't of thought so. Hall of fame is for the elite few the greats of the business I think he is good but not hall of fame material. Then again they put in drew carey who appeared at one royal rumble so who knows

not to derail the topic because I think it plays in, how many guys who are retired now that held the world title are not in? any?

Lock Jaw
02-07-2014, 08:56 PM
Yes. He is a big part of the years 1999-2005 for the WWE, and a decorated champion. Then came back, and despite not being given the opportunity to shine like he did before, he managed to become a mutli-time World Heavyweight Champion.

Plus he is generally awesome.

in terms of guys who have no chance of winning it again or aren't currently actively performing in WWE:

Ivan Koloff
Stan Stasiak
Randy Savage
Kevin Nash
Sid
JBL
Bill Goldberg
Chris Benoit

Edge & Christian will definitely go in as a team.... Christian himself, maybe not.....

NormanSmiley
02-07-2014, 09:54 PM
well you can cross benoit off that list.

my thoughts are :Savage needs to go in long before anyone ,period. after that I think Goldberg .

Ivan Koloff wouldn't be a sexy name to the kids but 20 year career and endless title reigns etc means he should go in before Christian.

Nash is a little tricky in that his biggest accomplishments or notoriety were for changing the landscape for the boys and business aspects and not sure how that plays into HOF thinking.

Christian should go in before Sid, Stasiak, and JBL though I believe

I still haven't decided whether I think he should go in or not but out of that list of champions, I probably only have him going in ahead of Benoit and Stasiak.

NormanSmiley

He and Sid are hard to compare sort of apples and oranges. Sid Has the Title reigns but only as heavyweight, Xtian stacks up better with overall titles and did well in singles and tag teams.

Sid had longevity but that could be because his runs were so sporadic come softball season lol.

I think Christian will eventually get a spot in the Hall of Fame, if only as part of E&C (especially if they do some big thing once the Hardys and Dudleys are retired and commemorate the TLC series as a whole).

Will he get a solo induction, though? Maybe--he's won a World title here and there, had his own talk show segment for a while.....his career's been winding down for the last couple of years, but he had a pretty good run for a while.

He'd definitely be a lock for it if they ever do an All Intercontinental Champions class, along with Jericho and maybe RVD.

He'll get in. I have no doubt. He should have even better credentials than he already has.

Well if Koko B Ware and Johnny Rodz are in, then I guess Blandtian can go in too

Was gonna add in my post:

"Also please refer to the Koko B Ware argument"

Hanso Amore

No.

Maybe as the Brood...or with Edge.

But lets be real. His "Stats" are inflated by the era...in 20 years no one will remember him. Shit he went to TNA for 5 years and no one noticed.

I love him but in the end hes a solid mid carder whose only top run was because Edge had to retire. And even then he was booked to lose all the time.

I think he definitely deserves to be in there. When? No idea. I don't expect him to be the main entrant that year, but he definitely should be one day.

Eventually he will go in. He has spent a while in WWE and even though he went to TNA he has still had a good run. Here's an idea let's list off current superstars that we think won't have any chance of getting in the HOF

Lou Thesz is another world champion not yet in the WWE HOF.

I'd say Thesz & the names CSL listed should go in before Christian does.

David Arquette and Vince Russo are both world champions yet to be inducted, both from the Attitude era too.

<font color=goldenrod>I'd sooner see Edge & Christian going in as a team (and making Edge a 2-time Hall of Famer) than Christian going in solo.</font>

He'll go in, not as the main guy, he's done enough over the course of his career to justify it. I sorta get where Hanso's coming from but there's a bunch of guys in the HOF already people have no clue about, granted it's the AJ Lee's of the board, but Christian will be one of the talking heads they wheel out for all the bio dvd stuff so kids will kinda recognize him.

Probably not as a solo wrestler but he should as part of a tag team induction with Edge.

XL
02-08-2014, 01:29 PM
That must be incredibly insulting to the guy. Edge goes in twice and he gets put in as "& Christian".

I think for a guy that has held the Light Heavyweight, European, Hardcore, Tag Team, Intercontinental, ECW and World Heavyweight Championships he's done plenty enough to go in.

glanville6
02-08-2014, 01:53 PM
Ron Simmons is in. Christian, in my opinion is better. DAMN

Hanso Amore
02-08-2014, 03:01 PM
Ron Simmons was the first ever black champion. Of course he goes in.

Christian has no career defining epic moments. I dunno, I guess when you debate a fake sport's hall of fame you can really go eitherway.

I just dont see the WWE brining him in 20 years down the road to induct him unless he works for the company

whiteyford
02-08-2014, 03:13 PM
I don't think it'd be that big a gap, 5 years tops after he retires.

I don't think it'd be that big a gap, 5 years tops after he retires.

Really? You don’t think they’ll still have enough qualified people who aren’t in by then? Not bashing you or anything but I could easily see it being 10 years after he retires.

02-08-2014, 03:18 PM
He'll go in but not as a headliner.

whiteyford
02-08-2014, 03:19 PM
He won't be the main guy, they'll induct him while he's still fresh in everyone's minds like Edge IMO.

I know more about Koko than "Baron" Mikel Scicluna.

Bad News Gertner
02-08-2014, 03:45 PM
Baron Mikel Scicluna was a decent star in the 60's, hung around for quite some time. One of the many guys Vince Jr took care of for Vince Sr.

whiteyford
02-08-2014, 03:50 PM
I had to look him up on Wikipedia, would put Koko over him in terms of achievements based on what's there but then the whole Koko 'argument' is a bit daft anyways.

yep his induction was more of a thank you for his 20+ years with the company.

well Xtian had one good match at least in TLC..when JBL has one good match we will talk

02-08-2014, 06:32 PM
I think he will go in as part of Edge and Christian Tag Team first. Eventually will go in as a singles but not for a while after he is retired.

Okay, I hate JBL with a fiery passion, whole religions have been founded on less than the monumental hatred I have for that human sack of shit.....but come on, that match he had with Eddie Guerrero at Judgment Day '04? That shit was fantastic.

NormanSmiley
02-08-2014, 07:58 PM
Except that jbl was in it so if the match had any stars Eddie carried him. I agree with everything else you said nowhere man

JBL was fantastic and who gives a fuck about workrate. Guy was an amazing heel. Nobody near his level since. Plus the APA were badass.

Mr. Nerfect
02-08-2014, 10:24 PM
I think he'll go in. He's given a lot to the WWE over the years, and has had no shortage of entertaining moments and matches they can highlight. They can probably bill him as some sort of "lifeblood" of the WWE and an innovator of concepts such as the TLC and Money in the Bank. I can't see him headlining a class (unless he somehow recaptures magic in the next few years and manages to have a "fine wine" run at the top -- and stranger things have happened), but I definitely see him going in. Plus, you just know the WWE would want to get Edge involved to induct him, since Edge is a big star and all. They'd do a five second pose and have some brief interactions with tag teams around that period.

I could see Christian's last match for the company being a "One More Match" type deal where he puts his career on the line for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. He dies by the sword and goes out in a blaze of glory. A few months later and Christian is announced for the Hall of Fame. A heel or some heels make some "Christian? Really?" jokes so Christian becomes sort of a non-wrestling but still sort of physical babyface manager for some guys.

He certainly books him in alot big world title matches (Chambers, MITB) for somebody he hates. Wish I could get boss's to hate me like that.
