View Full Version : A way forward with Punk...

What if the "leaked" info that CM punk will show up was actually devised and decimated by the WWE to work the IWC from tuning in (like they wouldn't anyway) ?
The last time CM Punk quit, it was an angle - what really makes this time any different? Did he ask for a release as one normally does? did he go on a youtube tirade or do a convenient shoot interview?
I suspect there's work going on to drive Wrestlemania 30 interest.
Indulge a little fantasy booking if you will:
Two RAWs before WM30 HHH says he has had enough of the CM Punk chants, so to bring matters to a close he will leave an open invitation for Punk to join in the main event for the belt. If pun cares about his fans, he will show up, call, text, that he is in.
The following week, HHH is in the ring and tells fans he has heard nothing from Punk but just incase Punk couldn't afford airtime as he hadn't worked in a while, HHH will leave the invitation open until Match time at WM30.
Punk would not acknowledge this and play up his radio silence. The match would start and about 5 minutes before the end punk would make his way to the ring through the crowd, pin Orton then leave with the belt.
Of course Vince could then go against HHH about ruining the company etc..
or maybe they will book something dumb instead.

I think he should return at Wrestlemania to help Brock Lesnar end the streak.

Brock Lesnar should not be the person to break the streak if anyone is ever going to..Has to be an up and coming potential long term main eventer.. WWE need to find the man in their ranks that will carry the company into the next era..
Swiss Ultimate

I don't think that's feasible. Who can predict what a wrestler will do a year or two after they get the chance. What if the guy who beats Undertaker takes his ball and goes to TNA or kills his family or goes to jail for rape charges or ODs etc. etc.
Brock is a known quantity. As is CM Punk. You let both of these men go over Undertaker and then use the Undertake rub to push men like Reigns and Cesaro against Lesnar while pushing guys like Bryan and Ziggler against Punk. Undertaker needs to go out with a bang, and I'm not even saying WMXXX is the day he retires, but c'mon. We all know that Undertaker's time is coming and that losing isn't going to take away from all the great work he's done and been a part of. It might as well be used to make Lesnar, Punk and Heyman the most-hated heels in company history. They're far more valuable as the guys who screwed Taker at WMXXX than they are currently (though I'm not trying to undercut how valuable they are already).
End the streak. Piss off everyone and then use that anger to put over the next generation.

I also want to point out that Lesnar is 36 and Punk is 35. Lesnar has at least a decade, possibly two to continue pushing guys over the moon. Punk probably has about 5-6 great years left if he's been completely honest about his condition in interviews. I could see Punk going out after being semi-retired for a few years and putting on a couple of classic Wrestlemanias in the same vein as HBK.

vince state (on some dvd) "I don't think the streak should ever end" Undertaker deserves to retire with it in tact. I don't think it will do much for anyone to beat him. Its not even about being over with the people anymore (Daniel Bryan).
Jericho beat both Stone Cold and the Rock in one night, it didn't make much of a difference.

I could be way off on this. But its seems to me that CM Punk is almost a lock to return at some point. This arangement must have taken place in the last week or so. The fact that WWE had basically a gag order on CM Punk's name up until last week, tell's me that.
Whenever, someone leaves WWE they like to think we are stupid and pretend that the person never existed. If Punk was truly leaving, they would never use him name in this fashion, let alone cut a 20 minute promo about him.

Jericho beat Austin and Rock in the same night, but both victories were tainted. Plus, Jericho was already pretty over at that point. What was anyone expecting to happen? He wasn't going to absorb the popularity of both men after
beating them. This isn't Highlander. It should be, but it isn't.

One other thing i kind of picked up on, and again, this could be a total work - But Triple HHH is kind of getting tired of CM Punk's act and that he is really not a fan of his.
Just some of the things he was saying last night and his reactions to the crowd, again, HHH could just be playing the role, but he's got me sold.
Perhaps at some point Vince comes in to save the day with his "FACE of the WWE" - CM Punk.
It would be great is Daniel Bryan find himself in the title match, wins the title only to be interupted by Vince trotting out CM Punk (who comes in and decimates Bryan after his victory).

Vince gave waaaaay too much help to Jericho to help him win. They book Chris super-weak after that too.

It'd probably be better to just forget about him and give his spot to someone else. There's plenty of guys on the roster who are great in the ring and don't have the unlikable personality of CM Punk, who also won't run off crying if he doesn't get his way.
Bryan, Ziggler, Cesaro, Reigns, Ambrose and a bunch of others would be far more interesting in his main event spot.

Right before Rasslemania, The undertaker will go missing. Then at the event Lesnar will easily beat the undertaker. But it will be a scooby doo ending and it will be Punkertaker that he beat. Then the real undertaker will comedown to the ring and beat them both. Then he'll issue sting a challenge for next year. That's how it's done.

Punk should come back when the part-timers are gone and they are hurting for main event players.
So, later this summer then?

Although I agree with Punk about part timers..
doesn't throwing a tantrum and then leaving only to come back and probably get thrown into a high level match make him exactly what he complains about?

They need to start booking hot young talent on streaks...with the hope that they will last the test of time and someday be able to "challenge the streak".
Seems like some guy getting to 20-0 and fighting to get to 22-0 would be a fun yearly angle.

He will either be involved in costing Lesnar the match or helping out Daniel Bryan. I predict Bryan will beat Triple H with the stipulation that if he does he gets a title shot at the end of the night. My thinking is that will be against Batista in a no dq match with the authority pulling out all the stops to ensure Bryan doesn't win, who is backed up by the faces and those against the authority. Then right at the end just when it looks Batista is about to finish off Bryan, CM Punk emerges and gives Batista a GTS. Bryan wins the title and the faces all celebrate in the ring. maybe Hogan might be involved in this storyline?
One thing is for sure, CM Punk is certainly still on WWE's books and in their plans otherwise they wouldn't even mention his name or play his music etc. the Daniel Bryan angle has been reaching fever pitch for a while now and I think it would be a real shame if at the biggest wm to date that the most popular star of the last twelve months doesn't at least close out the show on a positive note.
Maybe this will lead to a post mania storyline over who gets control of the wwe with the faces led by Hogan and the Authority by Triple H?
Shouldn't Bryan go over clean if he ends up winning the title? To have Punk help him would undermine his title win.
Also, I wouldn't put too much stock in them mentioning Punk on TV. They were in Chicago, they decided not to ignore the elephant in the room.

Punk should definately be involved in the Lesnar/Undertaker match. Heyman's speach kinda opened a possible door leading in that direction and, honestly, this may be the only way that Punk should even consider "coming back".
He was always a better heel, anyways.

It kind of sucks that if they break up the Shield in a triple threat that only one of them will go 2-0.

I do find it odd that the announcers and Heyman mentioned Punk directly by name, but no one else did, including Cena, Bryan, HHH and Stephanie. I'll be curious to see if anyone mentions or references Punk directly by name again over the next few weeks. I feel like that will be even more telling as to whether or not he's coming back.

This seems like the thread to say this in.
If you have Daniel Bryan beat Triple H and then go on to face Batista and Randy in the main event, and look like he is about to get screwed over again... then CM Punk come out to look like he is about to save the day only to screw Bryan over, you get people throwing shit in the ring and have CM Punk become the biggest heel ever in the history of professional wrestling. This would be such a shitty thing to do, but with the way they have been booking, would make so much fucking sense.

I just have feeling the plan since his return was for Batista to walk out as champion so something like that isn't completely out of the question. They'd need to find a way to distract the crowd from shitting on Batista winning the title by misdirecting their attention to a more "holy shit" moment.

The only thing is, you never have any closure of a baby face getting his title. Then you have Batista with the title, but no one giving a shit about him because the beef would be with Punk and Bryan.

Even if CM Punk does agree to return to the WWE, I wouldn't mind it if they kept him away from TV until Payback near Chicago. WrestleMania XXX should be about Daniel Bryan.
