This thread's for funny/interesting stories when you met wrestlers or attended wrestling events.

My best story comes from a WCW house show circa 2000'ish. I was about 14 years old and was still in that nerdy mode of waiting outside the arena hoping to get autographs. Well, I lucked out as Goldust and Terry Funk both left at the same time. They were feuding at this point, Goldust's second WCW run as "Dustin Runnels." During their match earlier in the night, Funker did a bare ass Stink Face. My favorite quote was from Dustin: "I asked Terry before the match if he took a shower and washed his ass, but it STILL SMELLED LIKE SHIIIIIIIIIT!!!" He kept repeating and emphasizing how bad Terry Funk's ass smelled.

More recently, before the Wyatt Family debuted last year (they had those initial promos but hadn't debuted in ring); Bray, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Yoshi Tatsu came into Pita Pit, the place I was working at at the time, when WWE was in town. Scared the living shit out of the soccer moms eating their lunches, but they were all super nice dudes. I tried to press Bray on when they'd debut, but all he said was 'soon.' Funniest part to me was Harper and Rowan ordered salads.

I saw Chris Benoit at a sneak preview of The Scorpion King. I didn't realize it was actually him at first, but rather a dude that looked a lot like him. I walked up and said "has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like Chris Benoit?". He smiled that toothless grin and just said "really?" and walked off.

I did some Jagerbombs with Shark Boy and Abyss after an HWA show that they were both on. I have Shark Boy a hat that I got for free coming in the building, and he started wearing it.

My sister worked at Outback Steakhouse when WWE came to town once. Some of the wrestlers ate there after close. My sister got me in to meet some of them. In particular, talked to Trish and Lita and got autographs.

My mom used to work for an airline and she was working the flight they were on and they were doing several shows around my loop. They were boarding a small commuter plane and Yokozuna was on board. Apparently he farted and it smelled so bad they had to bring the plane back and air it out.

When I worked at Disney World, I once had Scotty 2 Hotty on my Great Movie Ride tour. Didn't get a chance to talk to him, though, since I had to go right back and do another one after we got back to the loading dock.

-I was going into GNC at the Trumbull mall in CT and almost walked through Joey Styles. Said hi to him and said I was an ECW fan. He asked which one and told him the original, which he was thankful for. Talked about the Royal Rumble 2008 and how GNC is overpriced.

-Triple H held the door for me at Barnes and Noble, didn't realize it was him until I was in the store.

-Saw Todd Grisham but didn't say anything to him. He's Todd Grisham.

I ran into Goldberg in a grocery store once. Was on the phone with a friend at the time and was honestly like "Holy shit Goldberg is at Kroger in front of me right right now bro." Pretty sure he heard me because he looked back and kinda grinned.

Then some random pyro went off and I got speared through one of the fruit stands.

Ok the last part didn't really happen.

Back in the day when people would throw beer/trash/etc. in the ring at heels at the end of WCW events, someone hit Scott Hall with at least 3 eggs at a WCW Thunder taping I went to. He flipped everyone off. Remember being disappointed none of the incident made it to TV.

I dont remember this incident but I was told this consistently over time.

Supposedly back in the earlyish 80s when i was about about 3-4, I was with my family in a restaurant somewhere in Michigan, and Ric Flair was there. I was misbehaving so Flair came over and said something to me that apparently scared the shit out of me, and I behaved the rest of the time there.

I also supposedly got an ass whoopin when i got home.

My neighbor had a house party. Steve Blackman came over. We hung out, had some drinks, talked wrestling. Tried to get him to give us results of the upcoming PPV event (Summerslam) but he wouldnt budge.

I might be showing my age.

I was with some friends walking by the McCalister Fieldhouse in South Carolina (Citadel). I looked in the back door and saw Sting getting ready to wrestle. He and the trainers let us in and we saw our first live wrestling match. Horseman, Steiners, Midnight Express.

I worked at a gas station/ sub shop where one day where some wrestlers were coming through to get to st. Louis to go to an indy show. I got to meet Jake the snake, viscera, and billy gunn all really cool guys. Got to hold the snake Jake was using at that show. Viscera was real cool down to earth guy who I told was one of the best big men in the WWE history and he was very happy to hear that. Billy was awesome he let me do the road dogg bit and he did the two words bit. needless to say three of the nicest guys in the business and a great time meeting all three.

Back in the early 2000s met Booker T after one of the PPVs in Houston. We had stopped at Wendys before the show and I saved the box the fries came in. So I got him to sign it. When I handed it to him he looked at me funny for a minute then started laughing.

I saw Tank Abbott at a local bar after a WCW show. He was wasted off his ass and alone, as it should be.... so yea I did not even bother to approach him.

met buck zumhofe when he brought his traveling band of midgets and assorted others to my local bar. his daughter wrestled, too. at least i think it was her. had a beer with him after the show, and he seemed like a really sad dude. this was probably summer of 2011 or 12? can't remember now. pretty strange to think about in light of what he's done.

Met Bill Goldberg some years back at a car show in Del Mar, Ca. My dad owns a 60 Impala hot rod, so he and I frequent shows down here in San Diego. Saw Goldberg walking by and said hello and asked if I could get a picture. He said, and I quote, "Sure, lemme take a leak real quick and I'll get you a photo". Really nice guy. Liked my dad's car. Chucked "fuck them" when I asked if he'd ever take a HOF bid.

Was in Philly for a Mets/Phillies game and a few innings in The Sandman wound up sitting a couple rows in front of me. It was June 2007, pretty sure it was a Friday or something. I believe was right after he had been drafted to Raw, I don't think he really ever worked the house shows so obviously he had the weekend off.

He cheered for the Phillies but did give Mets closer Billy Wagner a standing O when he came out...he was a former Phillie but also he had used "Enter Sandman" as his music when he would come into games, so I got a kick out of that. Was tempted to ask for an autograph but he was with his family.

Funny detail - Mickie James was sitting at the table behind me. The little girl in the blue shirt stood where she is in the photo for the half-hour-ish Mickie was out signing autographs & photos, didn't move and didn't say anything, just totally awestuck that she was standing next to her idol
It was cute.
