Yeah, I saw this thread and thought "Oh no, not another sock promoting their terrible backyard wrestling show", so I avoided it. It wasn't until I accidently came across a story about Global Force Wrestling that I realised that I was wrong.

Terrible name though. The same can be said for the logo. It reminds me of a fictitious news logo from a PS1 game or really cheap CGI cartoon series.

I remember playing EWR or TEW and always wanting to start with a small independent promotion and try to build it up to compete with WWE. Coming up with a name that didn't sound generic was tough. I feel like whatever he named this would sound generic at first until you get used to it. Especially if it followed the 3 initial formula.

Following reports that Jeff Jarrett was involved in a physical altercation last night with Ian Rotten’s 17-year old son, news has seemingly gotten worse for the Jarretts.
The Examiner, who broke the story about Jeff Jarrett’s incident, is now reporting that Karen Jarrett was involved in a separate, allegedly drunken dispute with DreamWave promoter JayRep on Saturday.
Witnesses say that on Saturday at the Illinois DreamWave show say that Karen Jarrett noticed her photos had not been placed on the merchandise table for sale. She reportedly demanded the promoter pay out of pocket for her losses, alleging that she was owed $1,500 and when the promoter refused to pay that amount she reportedly went on a rampage, yelling and screaming at anyone and everyone.
A former TNA talent, who remained anonymous, described Karen Jarrett as follows…
“Brother, Karen is something else, it’s her way or no way and she screams and pouts until she gets her way. I think she wears the pants in that relationship which is cool I guess but she gets her one come hell or high water.”

The Biggest Loser creator Dave Broome is getting into a new ring.

The new Global Force Wrestling league, which already has more than 500 performers with additional announcements planned as more deals are finalized, will see Jarrett again bring wrestling to the small screen. Jarrett is considered to be wrestling's second-most-well-known promoter behind Vince McMahon.

GFW will compete with WWE and TNA, with Jarrett and Broome currently shopping TV rights to matches -- which will air both live and live-to-tape -- as well as unscripted fare. So far, Broome tells THR, interest has been high from both major broadcast and cable networks for the new league. The duo is currently meeting with network executives on both the East and West Coast as they shop the league and its likely lucrative TV rights.

"It just won't be a bunch of wrestling matches; we have exciting announcements to come. TNA or WWE right now is match after match after match. Global Force Wrestling is not going to do that. There will be matches but there will be a lot more and a lot more variety placed into the actual events that will be really innovative and fresh,"

Bad Influence being there would be cool. Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle's contracts are set to expire this year, are they not? I could see both of them ending up working for Jarrett if Vince doesn't want them.
