Good news Vault Hunters, 2K Game officially announced Borderlands: The "Pre-Sequel"(I guess that the title of the game) yesterday. Bad news, it's only on Xbox360, PS3, and PC.

From Gamespot.com2K Games has officially announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. That's right: not Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

The specifics line up with the information that leaked out earlier this week: the game is set on Pandora's Moon and takes place between the events of Borderlands 1 and 2. A younger Handsome Jack guides you through the game, and you play as one of his four lieutenants: Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer, or Claptrap. Yup, The Claptrap: the one that joins the players in Borderlands 2.

The game still features tons of randomised loot, and there's a new cryo effect that allows enemies to be frozen, alongside laser weaponry that comes in multiple shapes and sizes. Players now also get their hands on Oz packs, which supply oxygen when out on the moon and also function as a jetpack. A jetpack that lets players ground pound enemies.

The game is being developed primarily by 2K Australia, with original series developer Gearbox Software also chipping in. Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but a lot of the crazed enemies running around the surface of the moon had Australian accents.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released in fall 2014. Five other new screenshots for the game are below. For more information, check out GameSpot's first look blowout.

Haven't even seen or heard that much about it yet, but I'm already stoked and heavily leaning toward pre-ordering.

Yep. And I, for one am more than willing to play what might as well be called "Borderlands 1 1/2" over some half-assed rushed v. of Borderlands 3 any day.

Can't wait to see what kind of stuff Claptrap can do as one of the main characters instead of just a comedy machine NPC this time around.

BTW, in that second screenshot, has 2K said what the gray bar underneath the player's health represents or is that one of the big secrets they "can't" (won't) tell us right now?

Something to do with Oxygen me thinks since I'm reading at symbol next to it as O2.

Just a guess.

Makes sense. Been reading up and apparently oxygen tanks will be needed in certain parts of the game. 2K is also adding more new cool shit like anti-gravity and new weapon types such as laser guns.

Also, just to clarify, as an aside, it seems 2K made the choice to go PS3/360 instead of PS4/XB1 because they wanted to use and improve the current game engine that they developed for the first game and subsequently used in Borderlands 2, rather than create a new engine from scratch for the new consoles, whose limitations presumably have not yet begun to be fully known.

There is a thread, but it's all good

I hope they put this on Xbox One so I can enjoy it, I'm not dusting off the 360 to play this piss

I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you. 2K have already made it clear that the reason they decided to release it on 360 & PS3 is because those were the consoles they were most familiar with.

Kind of a lame excuse, I know, but ultimately they're just doing what's "best for business".

Couple of non-spoiler notes:

● Characters now receive their first skill point and unlock of their action skills at level 3, instead of level 5.

● Amount of Badass Rank for non level-specific challenges for level 4 has been reduced from 50 in BL2 to 25, and for level 5 challenge completion, from 100 in BL2 to 50.
