View Full Version : Nancy Grace Blames Warrior's Death On "Steroid And Drug Use"

Former WWE star Diamond Dallas Page appeared on Nancy Grace tonight to speak on the death of the Ultimate Warrior.

Grace began with the news recap of Warrior's death, then continued to reiterate an overly-dramatic subliminal message throughout the segment that "rumors of steroid and drug use are swirling" in the case of Ultimate Warrior's death.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been a single media outlet that has linked steroid or drug use to the sudden death of Ultimate Warrior.

Grace brought a doctor onto the show to discuss the long term effects anabolic steroids have on your body, and the lasting problems they can cause even if you've stopped using them long ago. This was clearly Grace's indirect way to blame Warrior's past steroid use (which he has admitted to) for his death yesterday.

At one point in the segment, she listed numerous pro wrestling names who have died young, and attempted to group them into the same "steroid" umbrella that she was using against Warrior, even if some of the names she mentioned had never been linked to steroid use.

DDP talked briefly about wrestlers using steroids in the past, but praised WWE's Wellness Policy for getting guys like Scott Hall and Jake Roberts the help they needed to get their lives back on track following their past drug use.

Grace continued to reiterate "rumors of steroid and drug use are swirling," and then introduced a correspondent who spoke on the "catastrophic medical condition" Warrior suffered yesterday. Grace asked for clarification of the phrase "catastrophic medical condition," but the correspondent said nothing else is known at this time. She did mention most people believe the cause of Warrior's death to be a heart attack, but those details remain unconfirmed.

DDP mentioned Warrior's vigorous workout habits, and noted he was a very intense man, but added he is not a doctor, and cannot speak to the truth of any drug or steroid related causes of Warrior's death.

The segment closed with Grace reiterating, for the hundredth time, "rumors of steroid and drug use are swirling," and at this point she's said it so many times she has to be the person who started the rumors, and is continuing to "swirl" them.

Classless skank who owns the Jump to Conclusions Championship and the obvious DLC brain addon

Not every fan is going to do steroids, unless she was feuding with Warrior I don't see why she would be bringing up shit before an autopsy.

I guess you have to heel it up to get ratings these days.

I think she blamed Owen Hart's death on drugs too so don't invest too much into her. I already power slammed her ass.

Ok, just because the media isn't tossing out the drug abuse angle doesn't mean the rumors aren't out there. Tons of people have had the reaction "well, roids and coke," so it's not like that's an unreasonable claim.

Nor is it unreasonable to call Nancy Grace a shrill-voiced TV twat, because she is, I just don't get this whole "she's making up the drug abuse rumor" idea.

I don't think she will succeed, hell the future is bright for the new era. Not even her evil can stop me from enjoying what is to come.

I'm still that little kid that loves his heroes and can respect that we don't know what they go through outside of the ring.

not surprising how sensationally it was reported but let's not pretend that these things didn't contribute to warrior dying at 54. obviously we can't comment on actual cause of death yet, but i'd say it's a safe bet that years of substance abuse probably had something to do with it.

Hogan would be dead if it was all steroids brother, I think a lot of things contributed to the Warrior exiting his body vessel dude. He probably worked out too much and/or Macho Man needed him in the next realm. You have to step outside the box and assume this much as we don't know who is booking in the beyond, maniac

Let's also not rush to judgment until whoever the coroner is performs the autopsy and releases the results. Only then will we know if steroid use at any point in his life contributed to his death or whether it was a heart attack or something else completely unrelated.

This is my favorite video ever in regards to that, I love how Nash completely owns Colmes on this. Especially how Colmes has no response whatsoever when Nash basically says "yeah I did steroids, never had any mood changes." And then he totally bitch-slaps the cunt at the end. Also hearing Nash say "testes" that many times is just funny. YOU DO NOT WIN A GAME OF WITS WITH BIG DADDY COOL.

I was watching Nancy Grace last night and all I could think was how fucking stupid she is and how out of touch she is with the business. She claims that she knows it all, puts the blame on steroids every time a wrestler passes, she should do her research first. Some of these guys that pass, pass due to other things, some end up having heart issues and some die from accidents, steroids are not always to blame.

Are you saying that Warrior's post-mortem will show that his death wasn't related to historical use of drugs and/or steroids?

Nancy Grace isn't doing anything wrong, talking about steroids being bad is a good thing.

James Steele

Using steroids for the intended purpose under the guidance of a medical professional is perfectly fine and a wonderful medical technology. Abusing them is what the issue is. The inanimate object isn't what is at fault at the end of the day, it is the people who chose to use these inanimate objects in a way they weren't intended.

Theo Dious

Nancy Grace isn't doing anything wrong, talking about steroids being bad is a good thing.

Lack of journalistic integrity is never a good thing, and reporting something as fact that has not been established as fact is beyond contempt, regardless of whether it turns out to be true. The fact that she stated that a man died a drug-related death who died of massive physical trauma after falling from the rafters of an arena puts her lack of integrity on display - Jim Ross tried to give her the benefit of the doubt by suggesting that her writers or whoever were the ones who got the facts wrong, but fuck that, her name is on the show and the buck stops with her.

Also see above for the fallacy in the phrase "steroids being bad." You might as well talk about "painkillers being bad" because they are subject to abuse.

dronepool
04-13-2014, 06:56 PM
And when you take something like that as often as some wrestlers use to, it tends to have bad side effects.

James Steele
04-13-2014, 07:07 PM
...which is abuse not standard use. I'm fat because I've eaten too much food in my lifetime, and it would be ridiculous for me to go screaming on and on about how we should ban all hamburgers. It is no different when someone ODs or has other issues associated with abuse of drugs. The government can't regulate personal responsibility, and we've seen for a century that prohibition doesn't stop people from getting the things they want.

dronepool
04-13-2014, 07:48 PM
I'm not for prohibition, I care less if people wanted to sniff coke and smoke crack all day at home. All I'm saying is when you use steroids it's no secret it messes with the heart and some wrestlers did use lots of steroids so it shouldn't be so surprising if it is connected.

All I know is lot of fans are taking this "connection" to the heart (no pun intended) I never watched her shows, ever.
