As we all know, Randy Orton is recognized as the final World Heavyweight Champion after he defeated John Cena for the strap at WWE TLC 2013. Ever since , the belt has been utilized as a prop to represent the newly created WWE World Heavyweight Championship which continues the lineage of the WWE Championship.

Wouldn't that make Cena the final World Heavyweight Champion? Or are you saying that they were officially merged during Randys run?

Randy Orton was the final World Heavyweight Champion winning the title and then merging it with the WWE Championship. As soon as they realize that it's annoying for the champion to carry around two titles it will go away.

They probably won't introduce a new 3rd title any time soon. So the WWE title will suffice for both of them.

As I said many many years ago at Rajah, the need a championship HAT. Belts are old fashioned, get with the times WWF. Get a championship hat.

It definitely seems like Daniel Bryan is struggling to hold the belts.

I've just this second had this thought.

Maybe they're keeping two titles because sometime down the line, they'll be a Triple Threat Match where someone will get pinned by/tap out to both opponents, and a way to stop both men claiming they're champion, they'll both get a title each and the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship will become separate championships again.

In my head when I thought of that, I thought of the Triple Threat Match consisting of Bryan/Orton/Batista and Orton and Batista win, and Triple H gives both men a title, thus making everyone (and by everyone, I mean the heels) happy.

I have heard people saying that a new title should be created to represent both, but the WWE Championship is just past being a year old now. I don't think a new title will be created.

If I had to guess, whenever Batista wins it if the WWE wants to use the WWE title to promote themselves like they did with The Rock last year.

They should still keep it around for merchandise purposes considering it still sells well and shows up regularly in the mainstream because of athletes using the belt to celebrate stuff.

They should keep the Big Gold Belt since the title says "WWE World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion" and the title is now known as the "WWE World Heavyweight Champion".

I believe I have stated that on more than one occasion in the past.

They could re-do the Austin/Taker/Kane "Triple Threat" from Judgment Day '98 where Taker and Kane weren't allowed to pin each other and both ended up pinning Austin.

They'll retire it eventually a-la the Undisputed title, which I loved the design of, but I always preferred the two belt look.

i hope they keep 2 titles forever. actually, i hope they turn it into 4.

And World Champions get an entourage to carry them all like a multiple champion boxer.

Actually, the next heel champion should do that. That exudes cocky heel. With extra, invented belts simply for that purpose.

Have him use every version of the WWE Championship.
