So today I bought the very first event, in what would become the biggest event on the wrestling calender. For those who dont know, SilverVision (http://www.silvervision.co.uk) is re-releasing all of the old events on dvd.
They come in double packs, so Wresltemania 1 & 2 have so far been released. 3 & 4 is on they way, along with Royal Rumble 89 & 90, 91 & 92, and some of the old Summerslam.
It seems so strange looking back at it the very first one and compare it today. No enterance music, No pyro, No enterances!
Anyway Wrestlemania started off with Mene Gene singing the national anthem, to which he was reading the words off a card!
King Kong Bundy just squashed SD Jones in 9 seconds
It's Ricky Steamboat vs Matt Borne now, it seems to be getting through the matches pretty quick.
Anyway, I would seriously recommend people get these classic packs, well worth it, and a lovely bit of nostalger.

Yeah, I have all the Mania's except 16. I enjoy watching the earlier one's more then I do watching the current one's. Look for the classic Bulldogs/Dream Team match on Mania 2.

I already have Wrestlemania 1 on video and I've heard that the "Tagged Classics" DVD's are just exactly the same as the old videos except for the logo in the corner?
I'll probably end up getting them anyway though, just because I'd like to have all the old PPV's on DVD.

I wouldn't mind getting that one too actually. I haven't seen KOTR 93 since the day after the event when I watched it on video. I remember it well because I was really excited that Hulk Hogan was back and I had to get my next door neighbour to tape it for me. Then I remember being really angry because Yokozuna's mate did that thing to Hogans ankle at the end which meant he lost the match and was gone from the WWF forever. :foc: :$

Nah, I think someone went to take a picture and the camera exploded in Hulk's face.

Was it? All I remember was that Hogan ran to the ropes about to do his leg drop, that bloke was stood there and then there was a great big flash. So yeah maybe it was a camera, although I thought he tried to blow up his ankle or something.

I remember now, some Japanese cameraman got up on the apron to take a photo of Hogan, and the camera exploded in his face, Zuna then went on to win.
