I'm really loving his work, both in the ring and on the mic, but especially on the mic. I can't think of anyone in WWE currently who has as much consistent charisma and delivers on the mic as well, except for maybe Bray Wyatt. Every little thing he does adds something and has a purpose and to me he really stands out.

I'm not one to say he's going to be the next "Insert Former Top Superstar Here" or anything because I really believe he can be his own person and it's not really fair to compare him (or anyone else) to another former great. That being said, I do feel like he's one of the top guys on the mic right now and he's got a great future ahead of him. I only hope WWE sees it and really gives him the opportunity he deserves and he can continue to improve, evolve and take advantage of the opportunities he's given.

Feel free to discuss your like/dislike of Ambrose and what you think the future holds for him.

Love Ambrose. Kinda feel like his attitude/acting is in line with Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker. The way he moves and talks just come off as that awesome type of unhinged psyche that Ledger pulled off.

Yup.... he reminds me of brian pillman

Both Ambrose and Pillman are Cincinnati boys.

Big Ambrose fan. I've been following him since the Jon Moxley days, and it's incredible to see him doing it at this level.

Ambrose looked like an absolute star at Money in the Bank. Unreal performance.

I am enjoying it but I don't know if I like it as much as you.

He's like a mix of Brian Pillman, Roddy Piper and CM Punk, which is good because after Punk left, there was a noticeable absence of a character like him.

I said last week in the 100,001 replies thread how amazed I am at his current face character. I think we pretty much all assumed he'd be the 'snake-in-the-grass' that turns on the Shield, so it's pretty amazing how well Rollins took off as the turncoat and Ambrose came out of it a face. Hope these two have a nice, long feud out of this.

Still not sold on The Shield as individuals, but I'd say Ambrose is doing the best at striking out on his own.

Enjoying it a lot and really like how well he's grown into the loose cannon gimmick over time.

Did the announce team play off that he was being escorted out of the arena mostly to do with the Authorities interference?

I picked up on it right away but not sure if most of the crowd did without the announce team in their ear.

In my own opinion, it has gone:

Started out
1) Dean Ambrose
2) Seth Rollins
3) Roman Reigns

Then went to
1) Roman Reigns
2) Seth Rollins (making a strong case for #1)
3) Dean Ambrose

And now
1) Dean Ambrose
2) Roman Reigns
3) Seth Rollins

I am enjoying Dean Ambrose about a 1/3 as much as I'm enjoying Triple H. He is fucking awesome.

Is that pretty high for your "H Scale"?

He's being Jon Moxley.....it's just now that people are getting to see Ambrose AS essentially Moxley and it's fucking awesome!:y:

Is that pretty high for your "H Scale"?

Yes. The highest ever (besides HHH himself) was Shawn Michaels who got 2 5/7th H's. Chris Jericho got 2 3/8th H's. I also have a scale where I compare matches and rate them based on Triple H matches I enjoyed at a similar level.

Steele, do you wipe your mouth when you're finished or do you let it kinda marinate?

I let it soak for 3 days and then use a pumice stone to remove it.

For example, I would rate the MITB Match last night at a "WWF Fully Loaded 1999 - Triple H vs The Rock - Strap Match for a WWF Championship match at SummerSlam 99" level.

Dean Ambrose is on a similar path to HHH too. He is currently riding a similar wave of overness that HHH enjoyed upon breaking up with Shawn and forming his own DX. I believe Ambrose will continue down this path in a year or two when he makes his epic heel turn and begins his ultimate rise to glory. Dean Ambrose will end up being the biggest star of the 3 shield members. Reigns will end up like Sheamus due to his lack of promo skills and Rollins will end up like Dolph Ziggler. Ambrose will be able to transition between heel and face, always be over due to his in-ring skills and promo skills, and will be able to maintain that gate-keeper, need a different champ here and there, etc. like a Chris Jericho.

Dean Ambrose is currently #8 on my "Steelerating Poll".

Triple H
Triple H
Chris Jericho
Kurt Angle
Kofi Kingston
Daniel Bryan
Cody Rhodes
Dean Ambrose
Ric Flair
Jack Swagger

Definitely loving Ambrose' mic work and unstable character. Pillman was during a period when I was out of watching wrestling, so it's cool to see some of what that must have been like. And yeah, those little nuances in his promos are gold.

I'm actually really liking almost everything WWE related these days. Seems like they've been doing a great job getting a lot of multiple storylines running and well crafted, which was something that was sorely lacking for a while since I last frequented TPWW. Future's definitely looking bright for the WWE right now, entertainment wise.

Just seems a natural fit for him, His character just doesn't seem like the ring gear type wrestler more of a Let's just fucking does this! Screw The prep.

No, if you've been reading the interwebs over the past few months you are clearly the only person on here enjoying Ambrose. Good job finding that diamond in the rough!

I love Dean Ambrose. Never followed him too much on the indies, but his work in the WWE has made me track down some of his character work. He's got this gritty edge that I really enjoy. It's surreal to see him having the success he has having on the main roster. He's being the least protected, dare I say (in simple terms of wins and losses), but he is connecting well and is being given the chance to really take the ball and run with it.

Since he's an indy darling, you don't need me to tell you that he is brilliant in the ring, but as a promo, I find myself constantly in awe of how he manages to create little soundbytes that may not be Austin 3:16 or anything, but ooze with an effortless charisma. Dude is like a violent James Dean.

And people are getting it. When he talks about maiming Rollins, people clap and cheer and appreciate the work. Ambrose is as over as a face as Rollins is as a heel. They'll have a true Rock/Triple H IC Title-level type rivalry, I think -- where both guys come out looking like the future of the business. I hope they let them go the distance at Battleground. I will be ordering.

I like the fact that Ambrose is succinct in his promos. He gets a point over in about 3 minutes flat, with the right intensity and highlights it with interesting enough wordplay ("Case or face? Why not both?). Perfect example of promo work. You don't need a 15 minute promo like we get with HHH, Stephanie or Cena.

I'm interested to see how the next nine months plays out. Roman Reigns has a lot of growing to do, and a very short time to do it. Putting the world on his shoulders seems like a nice idea and all, but people need something to sink their teeth into if it's going to last.

That's why people dig Ambrose. The Pillman comparison is easy, but to be honest I find it funny that nobody compares him to Austin, because while on face value they're different characters, the reason the characters work is a lot more similar to Austin than Pillman. He's a real person with a larger than life projection, comes of as legitimately tough, cool, tenacious as hell, never backs down, and has a universal appeal on a deeper level than the, at this point, one dimensional Roman Reigns.

I've been pretty underwhelmed with Roman Reigns as of late. He's not even doing anything badly, so to speak...but there's definitely something missing. Ambrose, on the other hand, is clicking on all cylinders currently.

Roman Reigns needs to adapt or perish. Other Shield guys have evolved. Reigns is still just trying to be the exact same. It isn't the same without a team, though. Needs to adapt....... Or perish.

I've read the reasons (they want to give him a big moment and such), but I still can't help but think they should have put the WWE World Title on Reigns at Money in the Bank. Why not? You've got him in the Battleground main event anyway. Why not tell the fans that he is, in kayfabe terms, ready to be the champion? Instead of doing Lesnar vs. Reigns at WrestleMania, like many are suggesting, why not do the epic clash at SummerSlam? People want to see it and it would create a fresh buzz about the product by giving us a completely new main event.

Fuck it, you could even put Reigns over at SummerSlam if he is doing fine as champion. If not, a loss to Lesnar doesn't really hurt Reigns, and could show growth as he chases the title heading into WrestleMania.

Reigns is my least favorite of The Shield guys, by the way. I just think that it would have been a good move for the company.

Reigns is kind of sitting at the Marty Jeanetty/Bret Hart crossroads in that he was a member of a group that broke up and he is the one carrying on the same look and feel and hasn't much changed. He's in a good position for the moment; he's being booked strong and not pushed to fast off the breakup. As long as he isn't suddenly chasing the US or IC title in a month, he should do fine.

Amrbose, on the other hand, is on fire. I'm loving his "I WILL HAUNT YOU" vendetta against Rollins, it's already adding a new dimension to the looming MITB cash-in.
