Per PWInsideher:

WWE's Emma (real name Tenille Dashwood, 25) was arrested yesterday in Hartford, CT and charged with sixth-degree larceny.
Dashwood was arrested at 1 PM at 495 Flatbush Avenue, the location of a Wal-Mart. She was released at 2:13 PM.

In the State of Connecticut, sixth-degree larceny is a shoplifting charge of an item worth $250 or Less. The crime, if convicted, could lead to a sentence of up to 3 months in jail and/or fines up to $500. It is considered a Class C Misdemeanor.

Dashwood did not appear on Raw, although she was referenced by name backstage by Santino Marella in a vignette. She was backstage during the event.

I was just going to post this news.

Apparently, she tried to steal an iPod case and the crime has been logged on the Hartford Police's record of arrests.

An attorney handling her case, Hubert Santos, stated that the arrest stemmed from a mistake Dashwood made while using a self-service checkout machine. She had purchased $30 worth of merchandise, but had accidentally forgotten to pay for "an ipod or ipad", leading to her arrest.

While that sounds stupid, I am inclined to believe her on that. It could be a genuine mistake, but it could also be the stupid self checkout machines that always spazz out in a manner that would make NXT Seth Rollins proud.

I once walked out of Wal-Mart with a 30 dollar DVD that I accidentally didn't scan at the self-checkout. I paid with a card and didn't pay attention to the total. I was glancing at the receipt on my way to my car when I noticed that the total was only like ten bucks. I immediately turned around and went to the customer service desk to explain what happened. They were pretty amused and seemed like they were surprised I didn't just keep it. So I can absolutely see this as the truth.

She's essentially a sidekick to a comedy character and is already in need of a repackaging, since they assumed her developed NXT shtick would immediately work on RAW and SmackDown. Whoops. I was all ready to talk about how she never got presented properly when news of her unprovoked release came up.

That being said, it is odd they fired her and then re-hired her. There have been reports that say that many feel it is unfair that people like Cameron, Rosa Mendes, Alex Riley, Jimmy Uso and Jack Swagger have been in trouble and kept their jobs, but Emma didn't. But I wonder if someone jumped the gun when someone with power wanted to give her more of a chance?

Yea, that's the biggest prob with most fans and NXT. Just because a guy or girl is white hot in front of a college campus full of people who got reduced/free tickets as they sit through 4 tapings at a time doesn't mean it'll translate well on a national platform.
It's like you're watching your buddies do improv at a coffee house's open mic night where everyone is a regular, and expecting them to be able to carry a sitcom with their name on it.
