WHOO! This biggest game of the year....if the Vikings werent 2-6 in the last 8...meh.

How about Moss? Hell yeah ! He's got his hair out, his first catch today should have been like an 8 yard gain but he went like 10 extra for the first down. Then the TD. CBS picked KC to win 3-1, Sports Illustrated chose the Vikes because of KC clinching last week. Anyway, scoreboard bioootch.

The Broncos/Colts game should be good.

Vikings now up by 18. Don't think the Chiefs can pull back now :o

MoRcHeEbA
12-20-2003, 08:12 PM
yeah untill that last minnesota drive I thought the chiefs were gonna give it a fighting chance. Then they gave that TD down, and that hit that the Vikes just layed on the returner was hard.

HOW BOUT THEM PATRIOTS

Smith rushes for over 100 yards.....I know Jets defense is a joke vs the run but hopefully this can give him some confidence

Patriots + running attack = SCARY

Lions have already tied record for most consecutive road losses. Will they break it the record or will the curse be ended?

Man I know it's just dreaming but it would be awesome if Pinner just exploded today and ran for 150 and like 2 TDs. He looked really good last week when he saw limited time, so I dunno. He definitely looks like he could be their main back next season. I just hope the Lions don't lose like 30 road games in a row or something  :( Oh well, at least they're not the only team winless on the road this season

Maybe they'll pick up a RB in the draft

You never know, I don't think the draft is very good this year but look what Ontario Smith is doing now...I didn't think he was going to be all that succesful in the NFL but he is tearing shit up right now.

I don't understand why they are so bad, I mean they got the young connect of Harrington to Rogers and they have a few decent guys on defense (the end..can't remember his name..and Dre Bly)

road doggy dogg
12-21-2003, 12:09 PM
Yeah, they took this Pinner guy in the 4th round this year, so I think that was a good pick for them. They still have him and Bryson, so I think they'll just stick with them.

To be fair, Rogers has been injured most of the season, so he hasn't really had a chance to do anything. And even though it's lame to use injuries as an exucse, the Lions have had a ton... their secondary is so banged up it's pathetic

Their defense isn't really that bad though. They're actually pretty good against the run, and their secondary isn't as bad as everyone says. It's just that since they're on the field like 40 minutes a game, they get tired. It's more the offense's fault really, since they don't put together a lot of long drives :o

road doggy dogg
12-21-2003, 12:14 PM
Anyways though, I think the Lions have a decent chance this week. Carolina's not really THAT good, they have a good D but their offense isn't really that great. They're mainly a running team, and Detroit isn't all that bad against the run. I think Carolina will still probably win, but it won't be a blow-out

As much as I love the Packers they aren't worth the sickness I felt while rooting for San Fran. However, since Seattle can't win on the road and San Fran seems to be really good at home, I wouldn't worry too much.

And after all the laughing I did at him yesterday, I feel kinda bad for John Carney. He is the most hated man in New Orleans right now.

Apparently Favre will be playing tonight. Good for him. :y:

MoRcHeEbA
12-22-2003, 06:16 PM
how is that good for him? he's not gonna play to his potential when he has something like his fathers death on his mind. If I was the coach of the packers I wouldn't let him play. he's probably gonna end up getting pulled eventually anyway. I would be at home with Family if I Was him.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
12-22-2003, 06:21 PM
You can't say that for sure Cheebs...maybe he'll play inspired or something

Or maybe his father would have wanted him to play..you don't the guy personally so you really have no idea.

road doggy dogg
12-22-2003, 06:28 PM
Well I mean, the only real downside to Favre not playing is the whole "consecutive games" thing. Other than that, there's no real reason he should be playing, and even then that's a pretty weak reason.

If I were in his position, I doubt I'd be playing the day after my dad died... :-\ Man that sucks, I hope he's all right

MoRcHeEbA
12-22-2003, 06:28 PM
well no one knows that :p so no one can say but himself how he's gonna play. I'm just saying that not alot of people have the game of there life the day after one of there parent's died.

Boomer
12-22-2003, 06:28 PM
Coming from a coach's perspective (not counting in the whole death, that is obviously a painful thing for Favre and his teammates) I would not want to:

1.Put in a backup that hasn't taken an in season snap in a LONG time
2.Break the consecutive game streak. I mean it shows balls to want to play the game you love with your father dead. This game does have playoff implications, and Favre is obviously the heart of this team. After the game I'm sure he will spend some very good time with his family. They will be rooting for him at home.
3.Put all the pressure on Green. Yes he's great. Really great. I just don't see relying on one person working out really well. Jamal Lewis can pull it off yes, but it isn't a guaranteed way to win.

road doggy dogg
12-22-2003, 06:44 PM
Yeah, it would really suck for them to start the back-up. 'Cause like, this happened on Sunday night, so there was NO way they could be prepared for it. If say, it happened on like Wednesday, at least they could have their back-up practise the rest of the week with the team, rather than just go in off the get-go.

I guess it is a blessing in disguise that they're playing the Raiders, so hell they could put anyone at the QB position and just have Ahman get like 300 yards and they'll be fine.

Well, I remember a high school kid played the day after his grandad died? Father type to him, so he dedicated the game to him and went out and scored 61 points - the age of his grandad. Airballed a free throw and took himself out. COuld have got the state record but the dedication meant more to him. Guy plays for North Carolina now if I'm not mistaken.

You can't say if a guy should play or not. Stima is right, his dad might have wanted him to play the game, and I'm sure Favre will play an inspired game.

#1-norm-fan
12-22-2003, 08:33 PM
I'm just saying good for Favre because it was up to him whether to play or not and he decided to do it. That takes alot of guts. Maybe "Good for him" isn't the right wording, but you know what I mean.

Yeah. You could tell on some of those catches that the recievers were really trying extra hard. 12 different recievers too. Holy crap.

And Favre isn't the man. The term "the man" only understates what he is. A new word would need to be invented before he is labeled as anything.

Lol Cheeba, good call about Favre :D

It's games like that that remind me why I ever became a Packers fan in the beginning. When they're on like that, they're just so much fun to watch. Whenever they have the ball, you're wondering when or how they're going to score, not "if". It reminded me of back in like '96 when they had Freeman and Brooks and were just so fun to watch. Awesome game, even if it was totally lopsided.

It's kinda funny too, Rice had like 150 yards, yet nobody was talking about him at all. Poor guy
