Electronic Arts has dropped all sorts of news regarding the sequel to what some call the best console FPS ever. Officially titled Golden Eye: Rogue Agent, the game takes you into new territory by casting you as MI6 operative fallen from the graces of her majesty's secret service. You'll work your way up the ladder of evil as a pawn of legendary villians Dr. No and Auric Goldfinger in their rivalry to control the globe. And what of our favorite MI6 agent, Mr. Bond? He'll appear alongside you in the games first level, before your dicharge from the service.
Whats more impressive about this title is the work done to bring you every element of the of the Bond universe. Sir Ken Adams - the movie series' set design who came up with such memorable boss hideways as the volcano lair from - you only live twice- has been employed to work his magic for the game. Fort Knox and the space station from moonraker will be just a few of the familiar locations available. Likewise, all of the classic villian Henchmen and women will be making an appearance. Youll be chauffeured in a helicopter by the infamous pussy galore and meet up with heavies like Oddjob and Jaws.
Multiplayer is sure to draw a lot of attention, and EA has been working to make it memorable. Levels will now feature death traps. For instance, being jettisoned from the Moonraker space station would be a particularly nasty way to go. Apart from your average running and gunning, however Rogue Agent offers some new thrills. Combat revolves around the top triggers on the controller, letting you simultaneously fire with one hand and throw a punch with the other. Another exciting element of the gameplay is cover that degrades as it gets shot to peices.
Golden Eye: Rogue Agent will appear before the end of the year for Ps2 X-box And Gamecube.

Nah.

I wouldnt want a remake. They need to keep Goldeneye's reputation intact and the best way to do it is let it go.

Its probably going to be no different from any other EA Bond game - It attempts to recreate what was good about Goldeneye, and fails quite miserably in doing so.

That said, this idea doesn't sound too bad. Just get rid of the terrible name though.

EA will never recreate the magic of GoldenEye, they're better off going with Everything or Nothing's play scheme. But looking back on Nightfire, maybe it won't be that bad. If they really want to beef up multiplayer; give us everyway to play it, splitscreen, LAN, online; and a shit load of options from the best in the bizz (Halo, Unreal, Perfect Dark, and dare I say, Turok part "2").

Sounds like it could be good.

I just like the whole thing of actually being the bad guy this time around. That would be great if you could hunt down James Bond in the game.
