View Full Version : devastating news about BATISTA
I  Batista
He should do what is best for (his) business tho.
Due to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, there was a lot of talk backstage at RAW that Batista may not be coming back to the WWE. He left WWE months ago to begin promoting the film and the plan was for him to come back once he was done. However, this was supposed to be around Summerslam and that didn't happen. The word is that Batista may not be back at all if he gets more movie offers.
Another reason he may not come back is that he would risk getting injured, which could hurt the chances of getting movie roles. He's already set to appear in the Guardians sequel and the Kickboxer remake, and it's likely that more movie roles will come after the success. He's no longer being looked at as an actor who appears in low budget independent films and is in a situation similar to The Rock was early in his career. The feeling is that movie studios may be less likely to hire him if he's actively wrestling.

Good. He should go film the sequel and come back in 2 years to promote it.

Good for him, good for the us fans. You could tell he was not passionate about wrestling when he came back last time.

If I hadn't already read this news on another site, I would have thought he had died or been paralyzed, judging by the thread title.

Good for him if his movie career ends up being a success now.
Will miss the Bootista chants since those were hilarious.

Not a fan of his wrestling character or ability. I am a fan of Drax the Destroyer and Batista as Drax. This is a win-win for me... and I guess for him too. Yay for Batista!

He is a natural heel, and they brought him back attempting to make him default cookie cutter super face. Not his fault. He's a good performer.

To be entirely truthful, I think guys like Batista are just what the WWE needs to get a "heel" over. A "meta heel", if you will.
All the stupid campy wrestling tropes of years past don't really get people in a seething rage anymore, the audiences are too smart. Why not have a heel who the smark-type fans detest? Remember, the main purpose of even having heels is to give the babyfaces someone to better, to overcome. So why not have someone like Batista, who most "knowledgeable fans" hate because of his lack of deserving his spot (Rumble, WM, etc), and then when someone like Ziggler beats him it's a HOLY SHIT! kinda moment and makes for a feel-good moment.
idk. THE DEACON is the best. RKO bitches

I actually saw this movie twice. Guardians of the Galaxy looks like it's going to be a HUGE franchise tied in with the Marvel Universe. Good for him, he's getting enormous paydays, getting Hollywood glitz, and not having to put his body on the line.
I am going to miss all of the shit talking. #Bootista #Bluetista

Good for him. He can anyways come back as a surprise guest to hit a power bomb every now and then. Get like he seemed out of place when he can back. Don't know why.
Something to do with the fact that they forced a natural heel into a face role and handed him the position that the fans believed somebody else (Bryan) deserved, leading to an incredible backlash against him which necessitated a heel turn only weeks into his return?
Basically, nothing went right with Batista's latest run.
Still, more enjoyable than RVD's last two returns.

From everything I've seen outside of the actual shows since Batista came back, he's a cool dude that loves the business and hates a lot of the stupid decisions the company's made--(SPOILER: It's not them making him job and not giving him a title).

Next WM, have Batista enter to this song:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/s3Q80mk7bxE?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/s3Q80mk7bxE?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
And rig up like a big Groot in a pot to slide down the ramp behind him, and it is dancing. Except for when Batista looks behind him.
Hope he keeps getting good movie roles after Guardians of the Galaxy. Not some shit like Steve Austin or whatever.
Wow, what the fuck?

Reality is Batista has a very particular look and, just like the Rock, he'll be type casted based on that. So he's gonna be stuck doing shit movies like a kick boxer remake instead of something more challenging or less obvious.

Sadly, this could be true.
But he could keep getting typecasted in awesome movies as well (see: Guardians of the Galaxy).

I wasn't joking, moron. The leading guy in the Kickboxer remake DID do stunts for Smurfs 2.
Also, what the fuck does your dumbass "joke" about Batista playing Papa Smurf have to do with this? Or anything for that matter?

Bleh. The original Tong Po was fucking ruthless. Pretty much all of the sequels were awful (needs moar Van Damme) I can't see Batista living up to it, especially if it is a remake of the first one.

To be fair, it would be hard to let go when companies keep bringing you back.
As much as I'm sick of Hogan's returns, I bet he needs all the money he can lay his hands on, since his wife took most of his wealth.
I loved his episode on the "Talk is Jericho" podcast. He comes across as humble and a nice guy in general. Although, he did not grow up as a "hardcore fan", he has a good understanding about the business. He has strong opinions and doesn't shy away from expressing them. Good stuff.
