If so, how is it?
Keep in mind I haven't played NHL since like 2010. But I'm prolly getting this one.

Didn't pick up either but heard a lot of bad news regarding NHL 15. Missing a bunch of modes and only a few might get patched back in.

Yeah with sports games you always have to wait for the second one made for new consoles. The first one sells on eye candy so they save the features for the second year to look all innovative and stuff.

I watched the ign review, and yeah, apparently they took out a lot, but GM/Season mode and playing with buddies on the couch is all I play, so as long as that's in I'm okay.
Biggest thing for me is the gameplay. Gonna take a look at dat list though

I have a lot of fellow Canadians who are like DIE-HARD hockey fans (the type that like take days of work off to watch World Juniors, etc); the type that you see in like every Molson Canadian commercial. Anyway they always buy NHL every year and play the piss out of it. And they have all said 15 is really really bad. So that is enough to convince me not to grab it, I trust their judgment...

kay so reading the list, I'd say these are the only things I would miss
No Winter Classic
No create-a-play designer
No create-a-team
No Top 3 Stars at the end of games
Yearly draft is fully automated by the CPU
Cannot play the AHL games for your chosen franchise
So, outside of the exclusion of the AHL, everything else is pretty minor to me. What is the difference between Season mode from previous games, and playing a season in GM mode?

dunno, I think when you're that hardcore it can skew your judgement. Like being so pissed about all that stuff being gone can make them unreasonably harsh on everything else, even if it's good.

I have the demo, but haven't had a chance to play yet.
GO Wings. Have a signed, authenticated picture of them hanging in my bedroom. Chelios, Yzerman, Osgood, Scotty Bowman and another sig (can't remember right now, too early). Brother got it for me years ago at a silent auction.

I agree
Just giving an anecdotal perspective
Sounds like it should suit your needs though based upon the stuff you said is missing etc

Also, it looks like EA is patching in a lot of the stuff that's missing. Still, probably should have waited a few weeks and tried to get this stuff in on release. I get they want to release it right when the season starts, but if they waited, they would have pissed less people off, and they wouldn't have been in direct competition on release day with the most anticipated title of the year.
I'm just gonna take the plunge and buy it tomorrow, and get back to you guys on how it is.

Last NHL I myself played was 13, then probably 10 before that. While I enjoy the games, they suffer from the same problem as the Madden series for me, where it seems like every iteration the menus become more and more laggy and it really crushes a lot of the experience for me (as nitpicky a gripe as that sounds); I'm sure it's significantly better on the XB1 or PS4, but I'm still rocking my PS3 and dread just having to deal with that noise

The gf had my copy delivered to her office next day from EA because I hate paying for videogames and I bought Destiny last night.
Excited to play this a bit tonight.

It's pretty fun. Hits look fantastic compared to when I last played a few years ago.

Playe one game and love the feel and physics. In past years the zones felt small. Like there was no room to setup and work the half wall and behind the net. This year it feels bigger and let's you really use the space better.
Going to make a be a gm today

I might enjoy this more than Destiny. My Ultimate Team is up to league 9. I'm OK at best, but it's a shit ton of fun.
