View Full Version : BREAKING: Randy Orton is a NUCLEAR tornado that the doghouse can not contain
Leave it to Randy Orton to cause turmoil inside the WWE locker room. It isn’t the first time and certainly not the last time that Orton is “demanding” the spotlight. Orton is reportedly frustrated with his position in the WWE and is demanding time off.
WWE considers their roster “thin,” especially in regards to the number of top-flight wrestlers they have available. It is said that the absences of Daniel Bryan and Batista are standing in the way of Orton being granted some time off. Vince McMahon is said to be "furious" with Orton for demanding time off.
To pacify him, Orton has been told that his character will be emphasized more on television. This probably won’t satisfy him though. WWE might have at one time considered killing off the Viper on-screen. That was until he demolished Chris Jericho in the medical area backstage. It could be a one-trick pony that Orton just did out of pure frustration.
To quote Colt Cabana, “Creative has nothing for you.” Which is very odd, because Orton is supposed to be a main event-guy, but he isn’t in the main event. From that standpoint, Orton has every right to be upset. Time will tell what happens next.

I say, give him the time out he feels he so rightfully deserves, push Cesaro as the Authority's new Destroyer, and call up Tyler Breeze.

I was kinda hoping for something a bit juicier than "Orton wants time off".

AND YOU CAN'T TEACH THAT!
Maybe try to give him some personality. He's pretty fucking boring.

He kinda had one in 2010 when he was a face he was awesome he was still heelish, he had the same odd monotone delivery and slightly sociopathic demeanor
He didn't really seem to give a shit about other faces unless it directly affected
him and he went around RKOing heels people ate it up then the WWE chopped the legs out from under it by making him smile and touch hands and be more personable.

As a resident of that craptastic city I can say that that place has the BEST freaking chilidogs in the world, man.
On topic, Orton is a crybaby. How is this news?

Just giving Orton more tv time isn't going to address his problems if they just book him similar to recent months.
Orton ranting and having a "thin" roster at the top wouldn't even be a problem for the WWE had they not messed up badly on building up more stars or the midcard as a possible star pool.

Take time off and have him come back as a badass submission machine. That way, when he starts his match with a rest hold, it can be labeled "methodical".

lol rest holds
But tbh, i'd rather see Orton on T.V. than Stephanie/HHH. I like Orton in general, but i do think that the WWE screwed him up but having him look "too" babyface. SCSA or The Rock were never TOO babyface and are 5 of the biggest stars in the company's history. An Orton (2009-2010) v. Brock Lesnar for the title would be pretty

Rock and Austin were so good in fact, that the two of them make up 5 of the biggest stars ever.

Orton's been handled so poorly since the beginning of the year I don't think beating him is exactly catapulting faces to stardom at this point. They'd be better off having him say "fuck you" to the authority and turning him back into the badass face character that was getting such great crowd reactions a few years ago. He'd be a perfect guy to feud with Lesnar for the title for a couple months while they're stalling for WrestleMania if they booked the story right. He was never beaten for the title and never got a fair one-on-one rematch so he's done asking and he's gonna fuck shit up for the authority and cause chaos and take it himself. Should be simple enough.
^ I am with you. I thought the Authority angle + Evolution would be good for him but both failed pretty quickly.

Writing him off with an authority attack, and having him come back in 3 months as a face getting revenge is money.
Honestly, good riddance if he does go. IMHO, Orton has hogged way too much main event spotlight over the past couple years and hasn't really made me a believer. I loved Orton when he was the Legend Killer at the beginning of his career - mainly due to that awesome match against Cactus Jack. But ever since he turned face in 2004, I've never seen what the big deal is about the guy. He's got the "superstar look", but that's about it. Nothing amazing on the mic, nothing outstanding in the ring - other than the aforementioned Cactus Jack match and maybe his match against Taker at WM21, I can't point to a single Randy Orton match that stands out as amazing.
Let others take his spot. This trouble making, cry-baby, third generation superstar has had his time, and it hasn't really paid off. Just my opinion.

You can't "hog" the spotlight when the roster is this "thin". Besides Brock and Seth who else do you have that is a credible heel? And he just put Reigns over.
Orton needs to chill the fuck out and have some fun in the tag team division. Or maybe, he should recover the big gold belt (like he did at Summer Slam 2004) and start defending it as the "real world heavyweight champion".

Randy Orton should take a couple of weeks off. While he is on his leave he should hang out with his dad who can teach him the ways of being a cowboy. When he returns he can be Ropin' Randy and give him a hat and have him ride a horse to the ring. This can be his entrance music bc Cowboys are American as Fuck:

That could be a super duper pooper great gimmick. Digging old belts out of the trash and defending it before officials could get to the ring and then running out after being exposed. Belt rehab gimmick

Jim Duggan would become a grand slam champion during a single RAW.

Just want to point something out. If WWE wasn't so insistent on going with the "Safe" option and their writing staff wasn't so damned scatterbrained, this wouldn't be an issue.
think i'm going to change the thread title to something about a NUCLEAR Tornado
If the WWE still maintained two separate brands, we wouldn't have so many disgruntled employees.

If they could bring Orton back to how over he was a few years ago (which an authority/Lesnar feud could definitely do), face Orton vs Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania and the build to it could be pretty great.
Of course, bringing Bray back up to where he was around the beginning of the year and reminding us he's a threat would be necessary, too.

Coming down to the ring in camo pants while swinging his arms and licking faces of random audience members might be a way to freshen up his character.
You're all really getting stuck on that word "hogged." I'm not saying he held others down or anything like that - perhaps "hogged" isn't the best adjective to use. "Wasted" is perhaps a better describing word for how I feel about Orton's run at the top. He and the WWE have wasted a lot of money and time pushing him into the main event, making him a "top guy," and he's really done nothing to make it worthwhile. And I'm not talking about just recently - I'm talking about since his turn in 2004.

For his entire run, Orton has entertained me a grand total of once.
I still believe that he's one of the biggest beneficiaries of the post-Territories era. He would have washed out of the business with the attitude he has, and that would have been the best case scenario for him. Worst case would have been him acting like an ass and the promoter putting him in with a Buzz Sawyer or an Adrian Street who would have accelerated his departure.
I remember the hyper baby face entrance of Randy Orton at the 2004 Survivor Series where he did his signature for more than ten times while making his way to the ring. That shit was whack.
