View Full Version : Mordecai Told To Stop Selling
From Rajah.com:
- Mordecai has been told by WWE officials to stop selling so much in his matches and just concentrate on beating people up instead of trying to put on a good match.
That is so god damn stupid, I could help but laugh.

Funny. If that were true, what a response that would be to the 'boring' chants he had in his match with S2H at the PPV.

So, it's supposed to build up to a feud w/ him and 'Taker...
IF neither person sells, how does one get pinned? I smell a lot of double count outs.

It's not like there was a good chance of Mordecai having a good match or anything.
He needs to milk the hell out of the character in the ring to make it a good match, not sell.

LOL at Sascha!
...just concentrate on beating people up instead of trying to put on a good match.
That sounds pretty stupid. What they're basically telling him to do is be Hardcore Holly...

His gimmick was created as a sort of modern day Undertaker, which means he's gettign a huge push. As a result he shouldn't be selling at all. Thats how Taker originally got over, so why mess with that formula? I thought it was stupid that he took a bump against Scotty on the PPV. He needs to just totally kill everyone for a while, and then he can be set up as a plausible opponent for Taker.

That was SO stolen from one of the old remarks from the Kevin Nash/Triple H feud.

I was making fun of the wording. ;)
I cant really form an opinion based on 1 single match, but it was a crappy match so Im not sure what the officials meant by that statement.

It's a bit like Brock, and how he came in and destroyed everything in his path without barely selling a move. That's what makes people notice someone new quickly, which is what WWE officials want...
They want him to make an impact, and to do that, they have to do something which isn't seen often, which is no selling...

LOL if Mordecai ends Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania
Depends if Undertaker is still wrestling by the next Wrestlemania.

Now I don't follow rassling at all anymore, but I'm sure this Mordecai character is nothing but a UT patsy. Build him up, build him up, have him wrestle UT and lose. Standard formula.
BTW, who is playing the Mordecai character?

he was known as "Seven" in the indies for awhile.

Wasn't exactly impressed much by mordecai anyway, only things i can remember him doing in that match is the face slam at the start, throwing scotty into the ring post a couple of times and then the outsider edge.
As you can tell he really grabbed my attention... :wtf:

To be fair, his first match was against Scotty 2 Hotty, so it wasn't going to be a classic. It did the job, which was Mordecai to get a quick, easy win...
Besides, reports suggest that officials feel he's a little too green, so give him time and he'll come into his own...
If he doesn't, they'll work on him. Either way, he's the kind of hype that Smackdown desperately needs right now...

The Undertaker should no doubt have a long-winded old-school feud with this guy all the way until Wrestlemania.
Have all the standard old-school gimmick Undertaker matches before then. Casket match, Steel Cage, an Inferno Match, First Blood, Hell in the Cell, etc....
I also think they should switch roles at one point too with the Undertaker being the heel and Mordecai being the face.
Then at Wrestlemania 21...Undertaker should put this dude over in some huge crazy long, hyped up match which should also be Taker's last wrestling match.
The Undertaker has "died" many times and I think Mordecai should be the one who puts the finial nail in his coffin. Then he would get the cred as being the one who destoryed the Undertaker forever.
I think Kane should get involved at some point too. Like Kane and Undertaker form an alliance and once Mordecai kills the Undertaker, Kane is looking for revenge and then you have a classic Mordecai/Kane feud.
It could work.
I'm a huge fan of the old-school WWE that had all the gimmicks WrestleCrap loves to mock. It was funny, entertaining stuff. And I am glad the WWE is going down that route again.
It seemed the WWE started to suck when they got realistic and just had "actual wrestlers". So I say being back the old-school cheesy stuff from the early 90's.

Wow, actually not a bad post! Though I'm not sure I like Taker losing at Wrestlemania (me = Taker mark, of course), it would be a good idea... assuming Mordecai proves he deserves it. That would make him an instant main eventer, practically, especially if they pull it off through that time.
Now, having the feud go all the way till then isn't a good idea, nor is it wise to incorporate every type of match in it, but the end pitch was good.

Like I said in another post, Mordecai is the third brother of Kane and Taker. You see, the story of Caine and Abel can be represented by the Kane/Taker storyline. But Caine and Abel also had a third brother and his name was Seth. Thus, Mordecai fits right into the picture. :)
Seriously though, I hope Mordecai starts a cultish stable that is all about fighting for the GOOD of the world. I was watching some old school Ministry stuff last night and I wish they would do that again. Like when Taker was sacrificing Mideon and making him drink his blood. That was some good sh**. Mordecai should start playing with the minds of some wrestlers who have no direction and are "weak minded" and make then join him. It would be funny if he makes them drink holy water while saying like a Baptismal prayer or something. Hey, if you're going to turn someone, might as well go all out. They've already offended basically everyone anyway, so they might as well use some Catholisim stuff with Mordecai.
Edit: Okay, I just thought of something. Have you guys ever seen Stephen King's "Storm of the Century?" Well it was about this evil character named Linoge who appeared in this town in Maine during a big snow storm. Well, his character was that he KNEW all the townspeople's dark secrets and said that they better listen to him and follow him or else he would expose everyone's darkest secrets. At the begginning of the movie they just thought he was full of sh** and they didn't listen to him. Then Linoge starts saying horrible things that occured in the townspeople's lives that only they knew. Like he would say, "Well Well, Danny Hopkins, does your wife mind the late business meetings you spend with your secretry." You know, stuff like that. Well finally people start listening to his commands cause they don't want him exposing them and everything.
So, what's this have to do with Mordecai. Well, I think Mordecai should take on that exact same character where he goes around to wreslters and tells them to join him or else he would reveal something horrible about them. At first the wrestlers would cast him aside, but then he starts showing videos of "wrestler x" doing something horrible. Then many wrestlers would join him because they are scared of what he might reveal about them. Well it's just a thought. Remember Mordecai is all about no sin, so this would work pretty good in trying to convert people towards the good life.

I'm expecting a mini-feud with Rico and Hass.
They'll break up the team, and Hass will go and join Mordecai as his altar boy
